The Atrium Hotel Mandurah seems to elicit mixed feelings, with its central location and pool often highlighted as redeeming features. Guests have called out the atmosphere and rooms as outdated and lacking modern touches, which detracts from the overall value perceived. While cleanliness is generally appreciated, some travelers find the hotel's furnishings uncomfortable and the decor in need of a refresh.
Service experiences fluctuate, with reports of both helpful staff and inconvenient delays. Despite the prime location, many guests feel that the hotel's condition does not justify the price point.

Detailed Reviews
Was disappointed on arrival, the noise and smell of chlorine was overpowering in reception with only 1 receptionist we had to wait until she took a lengthy phone booking. On arrival in our room we were extremely disappointed on the minimal facilities available. The room was old and worn and the tiles in the bathroom behind the door were chipped with small pieces on the floor. Bathroom was tiny and without an exhaust fan so showering was like being in a sauna. The bed cover had lint all over it and the KS bed was the worst mattress to sleep on.
We were going to an evening function in Mandurah so we arrived early afternoon after a 3 hr trip, and as the room TV advertised room service we decide on a snack and drinks as our function started at 6.30 so decided on nap as well...when i rang room service nothing was available as was informed they had a function and therefor had no room service staff available. we didnt know mandurah very well so didnt know of any where to go...on return from the function we were kept awake with the noise from the pump station below our room and the a/c was so old and way too noisy to close the door and use...Very disappointed and although it seemed cheap as pensioners, it was overpriced for minimal comfort. Will never stay there again.

This is an old hotel badly in need of refurbishment and a very good clean. Rooms are very dated and lifts are filthy, especially the floors . If you have a standard room you will be exposed to noise of pool area and may have difficulty sleeping. Buffet breakfast leaves a lot to be desired and hot breakfast is definitely not worth price- avail of one of the many cafes in the town where you can get something fresh and wholesome. Even better, I would recommend you book somewhere else unless you enjoy listening to domestic rows from other floors in the middle of the night!

This hotel is the equivalent of a good motel stay, the pool & spa are great if that is what you value.
We stayed as a family of 4 for a wedding in the area - thankfully we got a fabulous special for only $200 for a 2 bedroom "suite" - with the price in mind this was a really good option and highly recommend.
The location is great, the facilities are good for kids, the pool and spa are fabulous - the rooms are just not 5 star (ie shower curtains etc), so if you are paying around motel prices, this is definitely a great option.

While it isnt the most expensive hotel, it isnt value for money either. The rooms are tired and old and in need of some serious TLC, as is the rest of the hotel. You need a plumbing degree to use the showers safely. No water pressure and the temperature changes constantly. We were given a room with an 'ocean view' , which was in fact a view of the car park.
We were woken up on both nights by noisy guests. As the walls are so thin, noise travels easily. One night, the hotel had about 50 teenagers staying there from a Perth high school and it was bedlam (i imagine the hotel is popular with large groups due to the cheaper price to stay there).
On the plus side, the location is good if you like a walk along the canals, the kids enjoyed the pool and the staff were very friendly.

The checkin to this hotel was fine. That is where it finished. The pool area was overrun with noisy children, we could not get anywhere near the pool. The restaurant was extremely poor, the advertised menus were not available, the only meal available was a burger. The WiFi was non existent did not work and would drop out all the time.

Dear Cactus1113, Thank you for taking the time to provide your review of the Atrium Hotel, Mandurah. We are extremely saddened knowing that the hotel failed to meet your expectations on this occasion. This is certainly not the standard we strive to keep. Our restaurant has an ever changing menu to suit the seasons. We are concerned to hear that there was only a burger available. Rest assure we will follow this up with our restaurant staff. If you decide to return your stay with us, please email us direct and we will ensure we provide you with a newly refurbished room. Avoiding school holidays and long weekends is also recommended if you prefer a quieter stay. We hope to hear from you. Kind regards, Atrium Hotel

Large, clean and airy self contained Room, good views, easy parking. Friendly, helpful and courteous staff. At this price point, in this location the Atrium represents fair value. Having said this we did have some reservations with regards to another couple having a dog in one of the rooms (and no!! it wasn’t a guide dog, just a yappy mid size pest)

Over-priced, old and in need of a complete refurbishment. Location is good however the rooms and suites, restaurant and public areas need a total refurb. The housekeeping manager, "Helen", was extremely helpful but I found front-of-house staff unresponsive and not all that friendly.

Have previously stayed at the Atrium in 1 of the apartment rooms which are dated but our stay was good, this time I booked a studio room to avoid the dated apartment rooms. On entering the room looks nice, clean walls and grey colour theme throughout with new curtains and new furniture. It was in the morning I discovered the kettle was full of mould so was unusable. After breakfast I tried to open the slide door to balcony to let some air in but the door would not open, if I had known this the day before I wouldn’t have stayed in that room as this is a fire exit fail. We used the pool which was an OK temperature. We had no clothes airer to hang our wet swimwear on, luckily we only stayed the 1 night so didn’t need swimwear again.
The staff are very helpful and friendly which made our stay pleasant. A few spiders on walls in bedroom 🕷
Breakfast is help yourself continental. The blueberry muffins are a hit with the kids.
The location is great. Walking distance to main attractions

The Atrium has something of an identity mismatch...it was built 40 years ago when Mandurah was still a bit of a backwater. At the time it was probably pretty fancy. But today the plunge pool in center of the hotel under the atrium is cute enough, but cant quite cut it with the Instagram and SocMed lifestyle of Infinity Pools. It's the same with the rooms, although updates like textured wood tiles on the floors and minimal paint and furnishings make a decent effort. I got a very late booking so the room rate was very good for what I got - a studio with a kitchenette, though the Manager told me that during peak it'd be almost double. Not sure if I'd be writing such a good review at that price point. Bottom line is the room was very clean and nicely presented, soaps and shampoos were pretty good quality, sheets were crisp and clean, and the towels were fluffy. Staff were really lovely, and helpful. The Atrium itself could be better updated and exploited to appeal to those of us who still remember the 90s fondly, even if only as an escape from the 80s! Worth a visit, if only to see what resort designers thought was glam in the 90s!

Reception staff were lovely and friendly.
Ample car parking
We had a 2 bedroom apartment, which was in very good condition and suitable for our needs (out most days, so only needed a bed for a night)
Kitchenette was great and was able to use this for breakfast each morning.
Towels were changed every 3 days and if you required clean towels for the pool this was not an issue
Overall a clean hotel and great location as only 10 min walk to Mandurah foreshore and the restaurants.

Fleetwood, England, United Kingdom31 contributions14 helpful voteshi , we have booked in for 21 nights, and I would like to ask you please for a very quiet room please, there are three of us all in separate de luxe studios, under the name of melia, and ,muller, ihave been told to ask for high floor away from pool as it is very noisy, and as we are there so long could we have peace and quiet not near lifts please, thank you we arrive on the 9th November at about 1pm
Hope you found some quiet. It depends whether school holidays are on how noisy it can get. No holidays atm....lucky but on the 'quiet' side of the hotel there is a function room on the ground floor and if there's a party on the noise travels all the way up. Good luck....my advice... if you want a good nights sleep buy ear plugs and you won't hear a thing!

Fleetwood, England, United Kingdom31 contributions14 helpful voteshello, I and two elderly gentlemen are coming to the atrium on the 9th of November, could I please request a quiet room, for all of us thank you, I have been reading reviews and I am getting worried as I would not sleep if it was noisy, and we are staying three weeks which would be a long time to listen to noise . my name is mrs muller thank you
No! Don't come the noise burst someone's ear apparently

Yes it is very noisy. But that said there are some rooms that are not. The staff are very helpful so ask for a room away from the lifts and you should be fine. I would send the request before you arrive so they have time to organise this for you. Enjoy your trip
