The one-bedroom apartment which we booked through Waters Edge Luxury @ Mandurah was at Seashells Resort and was okay but the furnishings were a bit basic, it had no Wi-fi access and faced the road. We discovered that if we had booked directly with Seashells Resort we would have had an apartment that was ocean facing and all their guests have access to free Wi-fi.

The resort itself is very good and we would certainly stay there again but will book directly with Seashells. I am not complaining about the service that the staff of Waters Edge Luxury provided because it was excellent and the staff were very friendly, but it just turned out that we would have had additional benefits by booking directly. Obviously, the apartment we were staying in is privately owned and books are managed by the agency. Waters Edge Luxury manage a variety of properties not just Seashells, so what is available may vary from one property to another.

As the group of listings doesn't actually include "By the Bay" amongst the properties, I'm guessing this is "By the Sea" location and is certainly where the previous reviewer stayed. It is actually on Dolphin Quay, adjoining Seashells Resort which fronts the beach. The Seashells infinity pool is used by the apartment dwellers and is lovely. My sisters and I made good use of it!

We took our mum for a 4-day mini-break, and had booked a single-level apartment in the "By the Estuary" building, but due to circumstances beyond the control of the very embarrassed building manager we were swapped, without consultation, to a different, unseen apartment. Fortunately we picked this up before driving to Mandurah with our 87yr-old mother, and a great deal of negotiating ensued. Susan was absolutely obliging and we were entirely happy with the deal she offered us. Apart from the split-level configuration of the penthouse substitute, which we managed to work around acceptably, we found the location suited us probably better than the original block, being right overlooking the roundabout on Dolphin Quay.

Beach walks & swims every morning got the days off to a perfect start and everything was very handy. A bonus was the view we had as we sat comfortably on the balcony watching the fireworks display on our first night at the conclusion of the council Christmas parade. Seemed like a spectacular "Welcome to Mandurah" gesture!

The penthouse apartment on the third floor is comfortable, clean, well-appointed and handy to everything. We all (bar Mum) enjoyed the massive spa in the spacious, light upstairs bathroom, and there are 2 other bathrooms downstairs (one with a smaller spa bath). Everything one could need is supplied, except placemats, which we found rather odd & unlike any decent accommodation I've stayed in. Pity, because the good wooden dining table is being ruined :(
We enjoyed several meals outside on the balcony and the stunning views from all windows.

Our air-con wasn't working when we arrived, but a service call swiftly had 2 young men at our door who fixed the problem as well as cleaning all the vents - you can't ask for better than that. An all-round great experience for us and a wonderful surprise treat for our mother's 87th birthday (◡‿◡✿)

Stayed here with my wife and brother and sister in-law over the Australia day weekend. The apartment complex is part of the Seashells complex so it shares all of its amenities including the infinity pool.
Apartment complex has secure if somewhat confusing parking with the numbers all over the place but there was space for both cars, one undercover and one not so get there first 😉
Building security is very good and our room 3302 was very nice. Views overlooking the ocean were fantastic with a nice outdoor setting and a bbq.
Room itself was very well appointed but it was a little odd that the 2nd bedroom had no A/C. Kitchen had everything we needed as did the bathrooms although the bath/spa would have been better as a straight up shower, too small as a spa with the bath tap sticking right out into middle of the shower.
Lots of shops, bars and restaurants in close walking distance and a bottle shop on the ground floor. Great spot to stay for a couple of days or a couple of weeks.

Now for the bad.
Security gate to access the beach and ships on the ground floor was out of order meaning you had to walk around the whole complex to get out, nit a biggie just a bit annoying.
The smell...a cross between cats piss and the devils breath seems to have permeated the whole complex in the hallways, thankfully not in the room tho, just the hallways.
Restrictions to actually have any fun, no visitors, no "parties", no drinks by the pool and security guards who look like extras from a cheap bikie movie doing their best to be intimidating, especially at the Seashells pool. It seems they had some "troubles" a few years ago and this is how they manage it, over kill to say the least 😕
Would I stay again? Yes, other than a few gripes its a great spot and the accommodation was very clean and well appointed.
