Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Based only on a one night stay this seemed a nice all round hotel. For us it didn't excel but more importantly it didn't disappoint. Rooms are a good size, we were next to the lift but it was still quiet. It seems as if the rooms are categorised on the view. Our little balcony looked over the front entrance and the marina to one side. This was fine, but if staying longer the marina elevation would probably be worth paying extra for. Lovely large, comfortable bed, easy and fast check in/check out and free parking. If they included the breakfast I would be giving this hotel 5 stars.

Hotel's Favourite
My wife and I had an overnight stay at the Sebel on a Saturday night. We've stayed here before and it again lived up to our expectations. A new thing this time was a voucher for two free drinks which we used at The Pen (adjacent restaurant/bar) for a glass of wine each while we read the paper and people watched. And we were able to get in early which we knew about because of the phonecall I received earlier in the morning. There's a luggage drop-off point in front of the hotel but we just parked in the adjoining free carpark and carried our stuff across to the hotel. Check-in was easy and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was one overlooking the water which was lovely. The room is large and held a comfy kingsize bed, sofa, table, chair, fridge, wardrobe, luggage rest space, tv etc. The room was clean which is always important. We also had a balcony with table and two chairs. And there was a bathroom with toilet, bench, basin and a lovely rain shower. Also very clean. There's a restaurant and large bar area as part of the building complex and they were buzzing on the Saturday afternoon. There are nice walks along the boardwalk plus boats can be hired from a spot almost outside the hotel. Also some other eating places just a short stroll away. Oh, and the hotel has a nice pool according to my wife. We would certainly stay again.

The hotel all in all was great for the one night stay whilst we competed in the annual Harry Perkins MACCA 200 ride for Cancer fundraising event. It is a shame that the prices for the rooms have to be increased considerably to take advantage of the known fact they will be completely booked out. Maybe the profits should be donated to the cause instead of ripping the contestants and families off!

Marta was exceptional with her service and that alone bumped our review from 3 stars to 4, she was truly a gem! The room view was stunning, the size was good, the condition was a bit damaged and dated. A tile in the shower was broken so had to be careful not to cut our feet on it. One of the outlets wasn’t working when we tried to use the iron. The bathroom did not have a lock which was annoying. The pool was ok but would be better if there were shade. The gym was small, cramped and unusable by anyone at least mildly interested in their fitness. Considering it’s a 5 star hotel and not cheap it could have been a bit better but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Spent New Years at The Sebel. As always rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and the hotel itself was well presented. Location is amazing with plenty of restaurants and bars along the foreshore. Much prefer having a balcony on the higher floors as opposed to the patio on the lower ones. Will definitely try to book a marina view room next time as the views I could see through them looked incredible!

From the moment we arrived until we left, we were made to feel welcome by all the staff. I wish I had recorded their names so they could be recognised. Our check in was quick, friendly and efficient. The breakfast staff were great and the food was delicious. I had pickled fennel on my smashed avocado and it was so nice that I have found a recipe to try and make it at home. The cleaner was friendly. All this is at a time when everyone is tired in the lead up to Christmas. Our room had great views on the water and a large balcony where we shared drinks and cheese in the evening.

Great hotel in the best location! Our room was immaculate with the most comfortable bed ever! Nice bathroom with walk in shower. Lovely balcony overlooking the waterway. However the best thing was the warmest of welcomes from Marsha on reception. Sadly we couldn’t stay longer but we would definitely come back.

Such a gem. In a great great location on the water in Mandurah. Standard rooms are bigger than your average hotel. Spacious , freshly refurbished, Great bathroom. Check in process was a breeze and the warm welcome we received made us feel like VIP's - thank you! What a beautiful surprise to see dolphins swimming past from the view from our room. We were able to take a Canal tour to see the Christmas lights which were sensational. It felt like a Christmas wonderland when ,as the sun set the houses lit up with the most beautiful spectacle. AMAZING! Being a Sydney sider it was quite an overwhelming experience to enjoy such comforts, great food both at brekky ( not your usual buffet ) and also at the peninsular where we had lunch and dinner (yumm!!) The weather was outstanding whilst we were in Mandurah so we went for a swim at a local beach which blew me away .. absolutely Stunning ; blue clean water, perfect temperature for an early summer swim .This hotel is only 1 hour south of Perth and easily accessible by train. It really should be on every Australian's must visit list. I can see why Mandurah has won the best holiday destination award 2 years in a row!

My partner and I held our wedding at The Sebel in Mandurah. Sarah was our event manager and everything went as planned. It was a small family affair, the venue was great, and Sarah was well organised. She also reserved us the Bath Bliss room, which gave us plenty of room to have our family there for drinks the night before and for me to have my hair and makeup lady come in the next day. The food supplies to us on the day was good, not great, but fine for how much we paid.
