Detailed Reviews
We dined at the restuarant here we were not staying at the hotel.
This newly refurbished hotel has been completed to a high standard, the dining area has a large indoor seating area and similiarly a very good outdoor seating area. This is a very popular dining place and I was pleased that we made a reservation prior.
What I noted was that the restuarant is well staff and very efficient with friendly service.
Menu prices were average to similar places, the menu had a wide variety of choices including, seafood, pasta, meat and vegetarian.
What wasparticularly appealing was that there was a seniors menu of about 6 menus priced at $17 and also children are catered for well.
Notably the childrens menu incuded a 125gram steak and chips and salad something that you do not see on childrens menus in other places, rather than having a standard nuggets and chips featured. There are some other good choices for children, have to mention that we were not dining with children
We chose roast of the day Pork with vegetables including steamed vegies perfectly cooked and roasted potato and pumpkin, apple sauce and gravy. Portion size very good all parts of this meal very tasty. My husband had slow roasted Lamb shank with roasted vegetables and red wine jus, the meat was very tasty and tender.
Overall very good experience, did not have to wait long for meal which was beautifully cooked, yes recommend dining here and we would return here again to dine.

I chose what I was told was an old(er) room because it was cheaper. Although some people had apparently complained about noise, it was incredibly quiet when I was there.
Very clean sheets, good hot water, my room had a toaster and microwave, crockery etc which would be useful for people wanting to save on eating out all the time.
Some of the fittings were a bit worn as you'd expect with an old(er) room but all of the fundamentals were great, especially for the rate I was given. Staff were all really nice and helpful.
The hotel is only a block back from the Busselton jetty where there are some restaurants/snack bars and also the visitor centre.
I'd definitely stay again.
(BTW, the room only had a shower, no bath and no access difficulties)

Whilst staying nearby we decided to try the esplanade for dinner with our two young children.
The food was middle of the road average and the restaurant decor was a little dated (think 1990 holiday resort restaurant).
Daily specials were roast pork and veg which was a little over-done and a pie with chips which was good.
The ice cream sundae was very disappointing, couple of blobs of cheap ice cream with far too much fake coloured sauce.
Overall quite good for a basic family meal where you don’t have to worry about kids spilling food on the table. Cost us $145 for 3 adults and 2 kids including 3 alcoholic drinks, mains and deserts for all.

Our group had planned on visiting the Legacy Camp and the Legacy kids as its a charity that our motorcycle club of ex-veterans raises money for and supports.
Being late notice and school holidays had trouble getting accommodation but the Esplanade Hotel helped us out and we wended up with 5 or 6 rooms.
On our arrival to check in, Shane was very friendly and we were greeted with his big smile and made our check in so welcoming.
Shane even offered for us to lock up our motorcycles in the drive thru when it closed if we liked.
After checking in, we rushed over to the bar and ordered food just in time before the cut off at 2.30pm.
We found that our food came out reasonably quick and everyone enjoyed their meals so much that we all just decided to let everyone know that wasnt staying at the Esplanade to come back and we would have dinner there.
We stayed at the bar throughout the afternoon and found that the bar staff girls no matter how busy they were, they were so friendly and smiles all around, great to see.
On our return, Shane and another lovely lady working at the restaurant end, (sorry forgot your name, we had a good chat about Legacy) were so welcoming and smiling again and had organised a larger table in another room.
Our club decided to pay for everyones meals and it was no trouble for Shane to get a tab organised.
Once we ordered, it wasnt too long before we started to get our meals. The food was very good sizes and filling and once again everyone commented on how good their meals were, well done to the kitchen staff.
Our rooms were very clean and smelt fresh not that stuffy smell you get at some places.
The rooms had everything you needed for a night away and all very nicely presented and it was good to see such a nice clean and fresh bathroom with good shower pressure.
So basically overall, everyone had a great weekend and were in the same vote as me that would definitely do an overnighter again and stay at the Esplanade Hotel.
Well done to all the team on a great experience for us.

We stayed in the budget accomodation on this occasion and were very satisfied with the quality of the room. Very clean and had everything we needed. The website warns patrons of possible noise in the budget rooms, but we did not experience any. The Hotel staff are fantastic and nothing was a problem. The meals were of a very high standard, even have Vegan options which is good. The hotel is very well maintained and has lovely lawns and gardens. The Outdoor area is a great place to meet, enjoy the sun and have a few cold beverages. Great place to stay, and based on the patronage we saw the locals and tourists agree.

Went for lunch, didn't mind the longer wait due to Christmas period. Grilled prawns ceasur salad. Prawns were not grilled, not peeled. No second plate for peels, had to pile on table. Sardines were over priced for serve and wouldn't fill you up for breakfast. Other 3 meals were supposed to be hot but cold served - passable however I could have cooked a better meal at home for half the cost and would have been hot. Beer was the only good part of the lunch. Told the waitress who asked if we wanted the manager. I declined and said we won't be back and would be giving this review. Didn't seem too fazed about the dissatisfaction. Don't waste your time, plenty of other great food options in Busselton.

Left accommodation booking a little too late so booked accommodation using the entertainment book. Well they say you get what you paid for...
Pros: - close to Busselton jetty and everything else that the town has to offer. It's clean and has the necessary basic amenities even free wifi.
Cons: - Room reeks of paint, cleaning products, air fresheners etc which results in a very stuffy room. Don't think it's good for the respiratory system! Can't open doors to air out room as there are no screens! Blistering water damaged bathroom walls and cobwebs and insects in the corners of the ceiling. Can hear occupants from neighbouring rooms...even when the microwave is being used?
Maybe the newer rooms are better, we just got the wrong end of the deal.

We stayed in an Executive Queen room which was situated on the second floor. Our room was surprisingly large with a balcony overlooking the street at the back of the complex. The kitchenette was well supplied with kitchenware and utensils. Loads of storage. Bed very comfortable with decent pillows. The bathroom was well stocked with amenities and a large walk-in shower. We also found it to be very quiet and within easy walking distance to the main street and esplanade.

My Wife and I visited this establishment this evening to celebrate our anniversary, we should have saved our time and went to the Golden Arches.
We ordered our meals and drinks, when my meal came out a $42 steak which was meant to have mash potatoes, had black burnt looking potatoes baked. Along with a bowl of vegetables that was cold and mostly more potatoes. No mash in sight.
When I said I asked for mash he told me that’s not an option and walked off, another guy came over and offered me my money back which I accepted.
If you don’t want to do mash potatoes with steak tell the customer when they order it not once you deliver it to there table with an alternative. I would have ordered something else or went elsewhere. I certainly wouldn’t have wasted the steak over a bit of mash potato given other items on the menu have mash
