Six Degrees is inside a centrally located historic Albany hotel. I chose the low priced ‘shoebox’ room on a week night and was impressed with the size, comfort and cleanliness. Shared bathroom facilities were close by and impressively clean with plenty of hot water and quality white towels. Inside the room were plenty of towels and a comfy bed and pillows as well as a small fridge and locker for storage. The hotel was quiet overnight. My window faced the rear of the property. Parking was on the street close to the front door. Security into the building and my room was very good. Check in and out were easy and quick. Highly recommended for a well located short stay in Albany.

I have absolutely loved my stay at 6 Degrees. The location is absolutely perfect for walking into the main street and my room has views of the harbour. The room has everything I need with an amazing soft queen size bed, small fridge, tv, chair and wardrobe. There have been bands playing downstairs on all 3 nights of my stay but being on the 2nd floor I didn’t hear a thing. Love being able to pop downstairs for a meal or drink and feel I’m around people as I’m travelling solo. Yea and coffee station on both floors with a microwave and ironing board available to use on the first floor. Shared bathroom facilities but they are clean. Would highly recommend staying here.

My parents and I stayed at 6 Degrees Boutique Motel for 3 nights over the Australia Day long weekend 2025. We lodged in one of the ground floor motel rooms and we were extremely happy with the Room, it has recently had a renovation/refurbishment including the Ensuite and was fresh and clean. The Service of the Staff was great, Particularly Mike on Reception who was happy to assist and cater to our needs. We dined in the restaurant on the Friday evening and the food was fresh and tasty. We would happily recommend this Motel and would definitely stay there again when visiting Albany.

Appalling customer service. Cannot comment on venue itself as couldn't stay there but still charged full value.
Booked room online, immediately received message to say noisy and lots of stairs with no lift and contact them if concerns. Immediately replied to message stating would likely be unsuitable (health reasons with very limited mobility) so could i cancel. Offered choice to move rooms and pay for upgraded room but declined as double the price and significantly more expensive than others in town. I asked for refund / cancellation as stated wouldn't have booked if knew info prior to booking and as replied and asked to cancel immediately (this was all within 1-2hrs of initial booking) it wouldn't be stopping any other customers from booking same room. Was refused so basically I had to pay for a room I couldn't stay in and re-book elsewhere (luckily a nice venue with great staff in Albany). Having stayed in 100s of accommodation ranging from hostels, air bnb, hotels etc - this is 100% worse customer service ever. They don't care about their customers welfare or needs at all

Six Degrees is not what I would call a hotel never mind a boutique hotel, it is more akin to a hostel. My room was very dated, chunks out the wall, gaffer tape on the door and a large damp patch on the ceiling. What it didn't have was a wardrobe, absolutely nowhere to hang my clothes, or a mirror.
The rooms are on two floors, no lifts, with about 10 rooms on each floor sharing two bathrooms on each floor (one mens and one women's). The bathrooms are very tired and one of the two toilets in the females was out of order on my floor. Bathrooms appear to only be cleaned once a day around lunch time.
I had booked and paid for 3 nights but only stayed 1 before deciding to cut the trip short and head home early rather than enduring another 2 nights here. I found the accommodation to be rather noisy and that wasn't on a night with live music playing.
The two good points about this accommodation are the location and the few staff I encountered seemed friendly enough.
The brochure in the room does say to speak to staff instead of smiling when you leave and then leaving a bad review but a) no one was manning the reception when I left, and b) there was nothing the staff can realistically do to turn this hostel into a hotel.

We selected this hotel due to its proximity to the coach terminal. It is closer to the marina than uphill to the centre of town, which suited us well, especially since we arrived in pouring rain. We stayed in the quiet motel part and paid what in hindsight and compared to other hotels/motels we stayed at seemed too high a price ($144/night). Our room was large and had all the basic amenities except for hair shampoo. All we got was a tiny piece of soap each. Although everything else was there, the room lacked a feel of comfort. Still, if you are only in town for a night or two you could probably do worse. As mentioned, the hotel is fairly close to the pretty marina (if you want to go whale watching), and the flash-looking entertainment centre is on the way there as well, although during winter you won't find much to entertain you. There is a large IGA nearby, and also a few restaurants. We can recommend an Indian one just out the back door. If you don't have a car, the rest of town including the visitor information centre is a bit of a walk away. It is also quite a long walk out to the interesting Museum of the Great Southern. There were not many visitors in town while we were there, and no tours were operating during the one full day we had. So we ended up hiring a taxi at a fixed hourly rate and went out to Torndirrup National Park, which was money well spent, particularly since the rain had stopped. We didn't have any issues with check-in and check-out and could also leave our luggage for a couple of hours. So all in all it was not a bad stay, but the accommodation was not quite value for money.

Went to Six Degrees based up[on the reviews and the look of the place. Lovely outdoor area and a small but cosy interior. Staff were friendly and eficient and our meals came out in fairly quickly. My wifes grilled fish and chips was very good, however my steakburger was inedible. I could not even cut through the steak with my knife. Parts that I could bite or cut off were very very chewy. When I complained, the waitress was very apologetic and refunded the cost of the meal. This is when it became hard - how to rate the place. The venue itself is great, no issue there, And all members of staff we dealt with were excellent. The chips and dipping sace were also delicious. I was going to rate it a 4 out of 5, however the main reason I went there was to have a meal, and it was inedible. So for the venue 4/5, the staff and service 5/5, my wifes meal 5/5, my meal 1/5 - only because the chips were great otherwise it would have been 0/5.

Restaurant good, food and drink was good. The room was not to bad, could park outside the room so made it easy. Booked the room for 2 nights, I was working away and needed the internet (as described available) however I could connect to a router but no internet available. I had asked the receptionist to cancel the 2nd night to move to another hotel with internet with good notice on the first day and she wouldn't refund me the second night. Very poor customer service so will not be staying or recommending!!

Response from Anton Davey, Owner at Six Degrees
Responded 18 July 2021
Hi Ryan, internet is an additional free service provided that is beyond our control if it dies. A bit little electricity. I'm sorry we couldn't fix this for you but it was a system outage. Mobile phones have hotspots and our system was operating again the following morning. You're right the room wasn't bad. It's a great unit with new bathrooms and a great bar and restaurant. And we're central AND we're very fairly priced. Our receptionist was correct in following company procedure and not refunding you. I'm sorry you feel we were unreasonable.

Very rude staff, don't care about customer health or welfare. Very noisy, small, dirty room. Avoid at all costs - only care about money not any interest in their customers. Many other great accomodation options locally
