Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

Our second stay with Ace (probably the last). Spacious, clean room. Stayed 7 nights, housemaids very accommodating in regards to getting clean towels etc. Wifi works intermittently. We were charged $10 per night to have a microwave in our room, this charge was not explained prior to our stay. Bit of a rip off, the microwave was old and scratched but we left clean.

This was not new accommodation, but older-style units, which have been refurbished to a high standard. Everything worked well, it was comfortable and the restaurant was very reasonably priced. The only criticism would be that the restaurant had run out of my first and second choices of main course, but I easily chose another. The staff were always smiling and it seemed that the business was being run very professionally. A friend, who lives about 50 km away, told me that she rates the restaurant very highly. I would certainly return to this, if I am in the area again. Very good value for money.

We were happy with 3 star accommodation.
We arrived on a Sunday, no restaurant open, closed on Sundays. This was not on the website.
We were then told that its room service only Monday and Tuesday. We were not interested in eating in our room.
You had to drive to eat at a restaurant, and we found many great ones in Albany, just not at Ace.
The cupboard door was hanging off by only one hinge.
The shower had used soap, the soap wrapper and hair in it. Even for 3 star in the times of COVID I would expect this to be clean. The windows sil, that is at eye height had not seen a cloth for months
When I mentioned it to the receptionist I was told we don't service the rooms during your stay.
My suggestion would be after re reading the website is that the owner should spend less time fishing and more time maintaining his investment.
We would never go back

I would have to say this was the worst motel we have stayed at. Be careful and also be careful of you debit/credit card you leave on your room bookng! We had 3 nights here. One night was paid for as a business trip and I paid an extra 2 nights so we could make a long weekend out of it. On arrival I explained to the lady I had booked 2 extra nights on top of the free night and wanted to keep the same room and she just couldn't understand what I meant. The customer service was terrible. We had one key between two of us. We ended up accidently locking our selves out of the room at 7am. Rang the number on reception door was told that they do not open until 7.30am. What is the point of having an after hours number if you wanted to palm us off! The lady sounded disgruntled that she had to come down and let us back in our room and when she arrived at our room she was least impressed! She was incredibly rude and was an innocent mistake on our behalf. Our room was never cleaned even though I had requested this to be done on the 2nd day. To make the experience even worse they charged someone else's booking to My debit card which left me with no money for the rest of my trip. They refunded it back however it will take 3-5 business days for that money to clear. They were incompetent and we will not be staying here again. I've stayed in better cleaner places for less than what we paid for this place.

My partner and I stayed here on a Coach Tour and we were both very happy with the food and accommodation. Admittedly our food may have been different to individuals staying here as both nights we had a varied buffet for dinner. Breakfast was also a buffet and all meals were tasty and hot.

The staff were friendly and efficient and the rooms were spacious and the beds super comfortable. Laundry facilities were also very much appreciated.

One of the outstanding features though were the native gardens. Absolutely beautiful. If only our garden at home could look like these ones.

Highly recommend.

We had a round trip in Western Australia and spent 6 times in motels. ACE Accommodation was easily the best by far. After a dreadful experience in Esperance we entered the room at Mandala Ace Accommodation and it was like entering another world. The room was bright clean and smelling fresh. The beds were comfortable, we had the sun shining in and it felt just lovely. The shower was good and the bathroom was perfect. The layout of the room was well thought out with the single bed slightly separated from the double bed area. I will recommend anyone going to Albany to stay here for a good, well priced overnight stay, ACE was a good description!

Stayed here for business for 2 nights, what a lovely gem place. Just felt very comfy here. Rooms are generous and clean, lovely and quiet. Reception staff just lovely and friendly, nothing a hassle even when I locked myself out of my room . Had 2 meals from the onsite restaurant Ryan’s and had them room service, both excellent meals, hot and tasty, local calamari was amazing and delivered by very friendly staff. I’ll stay again here for sure, and eat at Ryan’s it’s well worth it.

Good place to stay if your budget isn’t huge !
Room a tad dated ( not yet renovated ) but spotlessly clean , Aircon worked well and decent size Tele . Free wifi was good and worked well. Bed comfy albeit pillows a little soft for my liking .
There was a few little things I would change to improve comfort levels but nothing really major other than a first world problem ! There are renovated rooms available though .
