This was now my third time staying at yha Albany. The best hostel I have stayed in Australia. Jennie the owner tried very hard to find workers jobs, thanks to her I think I can complete my 6 month farm work which qualifies towards my third year visa. The hostel is super friendly and homely, nice big kitchen, spacious bed room and very comfortable beds. I highly recommend anyone visiting Albany to stay here.

The Bayview is very homely with great social spaces all of which, including the bathrooms, are very clean. The rooms are a good size and the beds are comfortable. I've stayed at a number of YHAs and this is one of the best. It's good value for money and I would definitely recommend staying here.

Conveniently located to centre of town and main arterial roads for visiting the local attractions. Cheap, clean and friendly. Close to local eateries. Some rooms are upstairs. Single and family rooms available.

The room was okay. Extension plug provided. TV also provided. The location was perfect, just nearby the focal point/area in the town.

The heater likely not so useful during our stay (winter) Few parking slots inside the compound

We are a couple with 2 kids and found Bayview can meet all our need.
1. Good location: 5 mins walk to Museum & 10 mins to information centre;
2. Facilities: well equipped kitchen & washroom, both clean every morning;
3. Staff: Jennie is a friendly & helpful lady;
4. Room: we took a family room with TV, enough space and clean.
5. Environment: green, peaceful & quiet, we enjoyed a good sleep every night!
6. Relax atmosphere: everybody was willing to share everything with us, my kids alearnt more about their culture from it.
No doubt this is a good choice for budget travellers.

Arrived here and the first time I experienced self check in. A very easy efficient process before we arrive in our room. A bag with pots, pans and plates was provided for us, although there is plenty to use in the kitchen area. The immediate downside was there being no towels, something I had not seen whilst booking, but not a huge problem. The common area was nice with sofas and some tables there. Outside was a simple lawned area. Bathroom use was In my opinion limited. I stayed upstairs and there was only 1 male toilet/bathroom combo and then 2 showers downstairs, which I did find a little frustrating.

Overall a good stay with everything in close prolixity to the hostel.

Me and my cousin arrived in Albany, no clue where to go or what we where going to do (currently traveling aus) and we ended up being recommended this hostel and it was one of the best things we have done so far in aus!
I would recommend everyone traveling tries staying in a hostel and if in Albany especially this one!
It's in a perfect location, 5 minute walk from the beach front, Middleton beach close by and many more things in walking distance.
Brendan and his wife who work in the reception most days are so friendly and he's very helpful when looking for work and Jennie who's always around both hostels is one of the nicest woman we have met here, friendly and full of laughs, a perfect worker for a hostel.
It was a pleasure for us both to visit and stay here, so much we are heading back in two weeks and cannot wait :)

Very clean, with adequate amenities and an amazing staff team. I was planning on staying for two weeks but somehow ended up staying two months! The hostel is located in the city center which made it very easy to walk to shops and local restaurants. Jennie, Dinah, Brendan and Stephanie are amazing and always took time out of their busy schedules to ask how I am doing and to provide tips on where to get my car fixed, places to see in WA, and directions on how to get to the Porongorups. The kitchen, toilets, and common areas are pristine, the beds are already made, there is WIFI in the dining area, and sleeping arrangements were great (was always informed in advanced if I had to change rooms due to bookings, and provided with bunking options if available). The staff were also quick to respond to problems with facilities and inconsiderate guests. Highly recommend! ☺

My wife and I recently re-visited Albany (W/A) and stayed at the same placed we stayed, ten years ago. We were very happy with the service, clean rooms, cosy ambiences and excellent location. The view from our $80 dollar room was over looking the bay. The only fault I could find was that there was enough parking bays on the premises however, .one can park on the roadside in front of the hostel. We would recommend this well kept secret budget hostel any time.
