Wanted to try but for only one night was within my price range.
Very primo location, right on the waterfront at the end of the main street, between the Albany Entertainment Centre and Albany Light Opera and Theatre Company. You are literally minutes from everything within the city of Albany.
Be advised though, if walking, you will be at an incline as York Street is quite sloped, but there is the bridge connecting the area across to Stirling Terrace where there are a number of eateries.
Easy to get to and easy to park (at the time I was there, there dedicated car park for the hotel was small, but plenty of parking in other areas).
Walking into the corridor and turning to the right, led you into open plan space where you can walk past the bar into the common area where the reception desk is as well as the restaurant. The lovely staff helped me check in and gave me a digital key that lets me access my room as well as the fitness centre. They are also cashless so having a handle on tech has advantages here. (Something I struggled with, but I managed).
The atmosphere was bright, breezy and the staff welcoming.
My room was on the the third or fourth floor with a view of the neighbouring entertainment centre which I didn't mind (the bay is literally at the back door) very large window, lots of light which the blackout curtain helped with come bedtime.
I found the bed to be clean, very comfortable.

Beverage making facilities and plenty of storage space with a wide flat screen TV on the wall. Uptil now, one of the most modern rooms I have stayed in. It was the bathroom that was new to me or should I say, the shower. The rectangular drain running along the length of the wall did the job and the pressure and temperature of the water was great.
While I was there, the restaurant (Together & Co) was closed for meals (except breakfast,) which the next morning was a treat, see the attached pictures.
but there was a menu in my room with details on In Room Dining.
At the time, I had it all to myself (I am an early riser).

Apart from the hospo at the other end of the bridge, there is Due South next door.
It's a bar/eatery and bottleshop. There was also Sunday Markets at the Boatshed located a short walk away as well as a lot of other things to do whilst staying there.
While I loved walking around the immediate area, feeling the bracing wind and the sky so close you could almost touch it, it was great to have my accommodation so close by.

I really liked staying at the Hilton, but my favourite thing would be the staff. They were so helpful and lovely to deal with. Nothing was too much trouble.

I would recommend the Hilton Garden Inn to anybody visiting Albany.

Beautiful spot right on the ocean and close to town. Woke up to dolphins jumping out of the water :) was in from 403. Very clean and modern facilities. Lovely staff and service. Couldn’t fault. Beds were comfy and sofa beds was big and comfy for our 10yo.
Breaky was a good selection and well presented. Definitely can recommend.

I have to be honest and say that whoever thought of the notion to build a Hilton Hotel in Albany would have to be mad but it has worked out for the best.

We stayed for three nights and booked through an online booking company and was told that it would cost us $810.00 all up including breakfast. Unfortunately when we checked our bank balance after leaving the hotel we found that we had been charged $822.15 and we assume that the extra was a surcharge for booking and paying with a credit card although this was never explained to us and seeing as how the hotel is advertising that it is a cashless transaction preferred hotel (due to COVID-19). This is the only down side for the hotel.

The hotel is fairly central to Albany in the new entertainment area and boasts a nice decore, friendly service and very clean rooms and public areas.

We had a king suite (Room 419) which overlooked the entertainment centre and ocean. The room was very clean, not overly large when compared to other USA hotels but sufficient for us. The bathroom was quite large with a large walk in shower with both an overhead rainforest showewr as well as a hand held one.

There were plenty of outlets for charging things such as ipads, shavers, cameras etc. as well as a big screen TV.

The bed and bedding was very comfortable and there was ample storage for hanging clothes etc.

Breakfast was served by Touch and Go and was surprisingly good with enough variety for most people. The staff at the restaurant were very helpful, always had a smile and were willing to help if needed.

I believe that it is rated at as a 3-Star Hotel and would have to be one of the better 3-Star Hotels around, certainly in WA at least.

TThe company is also building a slightly larger one at Busselton which will be finished in about 12 months and I hope that it is just as good.

Thankyou for such a detailed review. It is great to hear the experiences of our guests first hand which helps us get better at making each stay memorable. As the first Hilton Garden Inn in Australia we are very proud of our hotel in Albany and are also excited about the building of the second one in Busselton. The credit card surcharge should have been explained to you. Thankyou for letting us know that it was not, this assist's us in training the reception staff about communicating more efficiently. We look forward to welcoming you back.

We booked the best room available to celebrate our 75th & 76th birthdays. We paid $367.00 for a Saturday night which included breakfast for the “King Deluxe Harbour View room. The room which was on the first floor had a stale smell and the view was of the restaurant next doors carpark. We could however see the harbour in the background. See attached photo. The wifi worked in the common areas but only intermittently and briefly in our room. We took a change of cloths expecting to dress for dinner on Saturday evening but on seeing the cafeteria style dinning room we decided we would be out of place in anything but jeans etc. The menu was limited, unimaginative and the meals disappointing. Breakfast was as expected. Overall not what was expected.

My family and I recently had a disappointing experience at the Hilton Garden Inn Albany, WA during our three-night stay. We booked two rooms, ocean view and despite booking for three people in 1 of the rooms, we were left to set up our own bed for the third person on a sofa bed. This was unacceptable considering the price we paid for the rooms. Rooms stated there’s coffee machine, unfortunately they only provide you tea or coffee sachets.

Furthermore, the housekeeping schedule was inconvenient, with daily service scheduled from 9am to 1pm.

The hotel's towel policy was also problematic. We found a card informing us that face / bath towels would not be changed or replaced unless we left them on the floor. This is a strange and unhygienic way of communication, and we suggest the hotel provide a basket for soiled towels to avoid such unpleasantries.

Another major issue was the lack of plastic bags for the rubbish bins. This not only led to unhygienic conditions, but it also made it troublesome for us to dispose of waste properly. We had to request bags daily for our entire stay, which is completely unacceptable for a hotel of this caliber.

Perhaps the most disappointing aspect of our stay was the unsatisfactory housekeeping. Despite claiming to be a four-star hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn Albany, WA exhibited a lack of standards. Our beds were made, but wine glasses, mugs, and teaspoons were left unwashed. Tea and coffee sachets were untouched and left in a messy state since Day 1 checking in.

Overall, our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The lack of standards, the issues with housekeeping, and the inconvenience we faced with basic amenities left a sour taste in our mouths. We strongly advise tourists to explore other hotels in Albany that offer better service.
Our recommendation is to stay away from the Hilton Garden Inn Albany, WA.

Thank you for taking the time to send us your review. We are disappointed to hear your stay didn't meet the level of service expected. We have taken on your feedback regarding our Sofa Bed policy and are making adjustments to improve this service. Our website indicates we provide tea/coffee making facilities, this is in the form of a kettle, a selection of tea bags, coffee and sugar sachets to cater for Guests tastes. Hilton uses a system that monitors the impact each of our hotels has on the environment. Recommended measures are then implemented to minimise our carbon footprint. Certain housekeeping policies are derived from this due to the profound impact this department has. Admittedly your glasses, mugs etc should all have been refreshed, amenities filled and tidied. We will pass this feedback onto our Housekeeping Team. Our friendly team are available 24 hrs a day to assist with any requests that ensure a guest’s stay is a positive one. Thank you for staying with us and providing feedback, we wish you all the best. Hilton Garden Inn Albany

Check in was good and felt welcomed. Restaurant staff were pleasant and service was good. Room was good. Interestingly the brand Hilton was let down, looks like a local franchise, starting with the dust bin lids needs to be lifted with the hand instead of foot peddle to lift the lid. Breakfast layout especially fresh fruits was not appealing and a turn off such that we did not approach the counter. The best experience was to find a live large spider jump out fresh bath towel and I was told by the not so interested receptionist that "this is Australia" guess she meant in Australia one can expect spiders, bugs and probably snakes to jump around in the a Hotel like Hilton. I stayed even roadhouses/motels while crossing the Nullarbor and did not encounter even a small bug. However on speaking with a more customer service/experience focussed Richard assured that the matter would be escalated.

Rules ARE Rules. We found our experience with the people on the phone at the hotel very disappointing. Due to forces beyond our control, we were put in the extremely rare situation of having our trip to WA cancelled. We were going there by train from Sydney but the railway line was cut off by freak record breaking floods on the Nullabour Plain (one of the driest places in Australia). So the trip was cancelled by the rail company. We called the hotel and explained what had happened. They said they ‘understood’ but were incapable of refunding our prepaid booking of $740 because it would break their rules. We re-explained how rare this situation was and that we had no choice in the matter.. They said they ‘understood’ but refused to help us out in anyway whatsoever. So we asked if we could keep the payment as a credit until we could get another train, they said they could hold the credit until Dec (9months). We explained how hard it was to get our first train booking and that we’d had to book more than a year ahead to get a berth. They repeated that they ‘understood’ but were incapable of bending their rules. For us the train is the only way to get to WA because we can’t travel by plane for health reasons. This was the trip of a lifetime for us that we’d been looking forward to for over a year but the Hilton hotel was more interested in hanging on to our $740 than showing any compassion or real understanding. Turns out their rules are more important than helping us. Pretty unaccommodating for an accommodation business, in my opinion.

The hotel is still very new and so it feels fresh, clean and crisp. But regardless, there isn't anything I could complain about. The colour scheme and furniture fits its bay side location and while small, it has all the features you would expect from an international brand. We stayed for 3 nights in a King Ocean View room which was compact but still affording all the room you needed. The view is definitely worth the extra few dollars. The room was functional, well equipped and extremely quiet. In fact that was a stand out feature of the hotel given it was close to capacity and at no stage did I hear anyone else alongside or on top of me. While not a big deal, it also have a very large TV that not only worked on every channel, but produced a picture fitting our HD/4K world. Location is excellent with an adjacent coffee shop, a huge good quality restaurant over the road (Due South), a supermarket 1 minute away and the main street of Albany 2 minutes away. A leisurely walk to the town would also only be about 10 minutes. For international visitors who know Hilton Garden Inns, this hotel is about 2 grades higher than what you would expect in the US. This really is the very best place to stay in Albany.

We were pleasantly surprised by the location of the hotel as we’d booked without really bothering too much about where it was. It’s a short stroll into town and there are loads of places to eat and drink close by. We chose a corner room with a panoramic view and it was worth the extra cost. The room had everything we needed and we loved the full size amenity bottles. Much better than little fiddle ones that go into landfill. Breakfast was a buffet, adequate and nothing fancy. Fresh fruit selection uninspiring, rock melon, watermelon, honeydew melon! Tinned fruit selection also available. Everything is do it yourself including coffee from the one working machine.
Great parking onsite, nice little bar area. We would stay again.

Great stay in comfort and clean environment, it was our anniversary we had travelled down from Perth for one night stay, we wish we had more time to stay longer. The check in assistant Manon was absolutely lovely and hospitable to meet and farewell, the young gentleman house keeping assistant we met on Sunday morning 23rd April 2023 was also the most hospitable and welcoming of the entire stay I should have requested His name and gave his service & hospitality a recommendation and Tip. We had general service experience at the bar and buffet breakfast & Nice deserts. & Just a recommendation (Not sure of the service attendance rosters or staffing availability to accommodate) it would have been great to allow room service during Dinner service hours even if just for premium bookings, King Deluxe Panoramic views rooms? And a Restaurant Menu in your bedroom or on TV screen would be handy. I’d have appreciated this as I wasn’t feeling too great over the weekend being pregnant. Also I know I’m comparing my expectations and recommendations to other Hotel experiences that I’ve paid similarly if not less for. I believe Hilton Albany to be the highest quality accommodation available in Albany WA.
