Detailed Reviews
Stayed here in the school holidays period and it was a great place. It had everything you needed for a great time away.
Clean abortion blocks, although 1 was more updated then the other, but both were cleaned regularly.
Sites were decent sizes and were cleaned before we arrived and had either slabs or mats surrounded by grass.
Jumping pillow, rec room and had a kids club which you could drop your kids off for a couple of hours. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed this and wanted to visit everyday.
Beach is right there which was amazing.
Camp kitchen had everything except there was no stove, which sometimes we needed.
We were stuck with car troubles and the ground staff were able to move our caravan to a new site for us which was fantastic.
Only downside for us was the ladies at the reception were not happy at all. Everytime we went in there you felt like you were an inconvenience to them, which makes it very uncomfortable. Other than that, we would definitely recommend and stay here again.

We stayed at an ensuite powered site with our caravan.
The location of the park is wonderful, a few steps to the ocean and generally very quiet.
The ensuite bathroom was spacious and well equipped with good water pressure in the shower. They did a clean half way through our stay which was appreciated.
The park is immaculately clean and well laid out. It was quiet when we stayed (June 2020) so it may be a bit noisier if there are lots of children at peak times.
Emu Point is a lovely part of Albany, we walked along the coast path to Middleton Beach, and in the other direction around Oyster Bay. The Emu Point Cafe is a 10 minute walk and serves great breakfast and coffee.
We will definitely be back.

This caravan park is so well maintained, lush green lawn, clean sites, and clean ablution blocks. They are strict with the arrival time in order for them to mow, water and clean the sites, so it is well worth it, as the lawn areas are exceptional.
Nice playground for kids, entertainment last Saturday night, coffee van in the morning on some days (not sure why not every day?) and friendly reception staff.
Beach is short walk from park, and great cafe short walk away. Only about 10 mins drive into Albany so it is agreat location to see the sites from.

The BIG4 Emu Beach Holiday Park is a great place to stay, especially for a young family. The grounds are well kept, the park, bouncing pillow, putt-putt course and kids room are fantastic. It's only a very short walk from a really nice beach and the local cafe is great too.
The only problem for us was the room itself. Although it was neat and tidy, the beds were comfy, water pressure and wifi were good. The room was a lot smaller then it appears in the pictures. The room was also set out really poorly. There was really no room for our two small kids to move about. The bed took up 90% of our room, I'm a slim guy and struggled to find room to get dressed. The bathroom was so small only one person could stand in it at a time. The door had to be closed as if it was open, you couldn't access the sink or mirror. I'm not sure if all the rooms are set out the same, but we were disappointed with the functionality of the room. For the price of the room (which was a deluxe 2 bedroom chalet), i feel you could get a larger space near a local park and be better off. If the room was set out better and had a little more space, it would be perfect.
I was also a bit annoyed they charge $5 for you to do 1 load of washing and don't have a change machine or offer change to get coins from eftpos. Cash only, but you can pay for everything else on eftpos...

Hi Kat3X we are so pleased that you choose to stay with us recently and we love that you found our park to be a good place to stay. We are sorry to see that your chosen cabin type did not meet with your families requirements, we would possibly suggest for your next stay that you consider our 2 bedroom holiday home with the added bonus of a laundry. We do hope to welcome you and your family back again one day soon.

Had another lovely time at BIG4 Emu Beach. This is the 4th time that we have stayed in the first week of January and again, it did not disappoint. Quiet, well-maintained, you can hear the waves from your campsite. Amenities are clean. Appreciate the security patrols in the night, and the helpful park employees that check whether all tents are pitched in windy weather. A couple of years ago, there was a quick change in the weather and came back to see that our tent had been secured with an extra rope to stop it blowing over which was incredibly helpful. Thank you for another great stay, it was a pleasure!

I took my kids away for 4 nights and only wish we had longer, there were lots of kids all riding their bikes around and making friends with one and other. There’s a great cafe on the point which is a short walk or bike ride to get a coffee while the kids fish! We did a few day trips as the beaches within 40 minutes are stunning but if you just want to relax and fish there’s a beach on the doorstep or emu point which was calm and tucked out of the weather. The facilities were very clean and we had no issues with “noisey” campers! Mini golf and the bouncy pillow were great and my kids didn’t want to leave at the end of the stay.
Great place to stay with family!

We had a deluxe two bedroom chalet 23-27 November 2020. We stayed here as a couple in our 60's and we also brought our elderly neighbour (78) who stayed in the second bedroom. There is a ramp up from the path to the door, no steps. This made it easy for our neighbour who is mobility compromised, and this was not an Accessibility unit.
Our unit was spotlessly clean and was quite private. As 3 adults, we felt the space was generous. Full sized stove with gas oven. Everything in the unit worked perfectly. Generous provision of utensils, crockery, pots etc. Outside we had a deck that had an outdoor table and chair, as well as a dining suite inside. The Big4 site is large, this is not a small operation. I cannot comment on the caravan/camping spaces allotted, but we did check out the amenities blocks, not because we needed them - we didn't - but just because we could. Spotlessly clean and everything worked. Lots of BBQ's around the park. There is also a coffee van close to the park entry. A gate at the rear provides entry to Emu Beach, from where we walked along the asphalt bike path to Middleton Beach one way, and along the beach coming back. Peaceful, charming.
Usually I review places immediately after we arrive home, but I was a bit slack this time. Having just spent last weekend at a "motel" in York, for more money, woeful cleanliness and what was provided (e.g. A kettle that leaked, two of us and only one desertspoon, one face cloth and one bath robe) either was inadequate or didn't work, prompted me to write this review of somewhere else we have recently stayed. Big4 Emu Beach is way over at the other end of the spectrum. Superb. Thank you.

We rented a chalet.
Haven't stayed with this group before. I thought as a campground goes I haven't seen better. I have stayed at a lot and in any tent in any conditions all over the place in my life.
First impression of the chalet. Stunningly clean. Almost unbelievably so.
Bed is important. This is what is being paid for, and I think is absolutely important, and this one did not let me down.
The shower was amazing with great pressure, and immediate response to request for hot water.
Only negative for us was its a bit out of the way from places to eat out at making a car trip required if thats your thing. However if staying in a camping ground normally cooking is anticipated and the camp is well equipped for this.
Overall impressed.

we had a lovely stay during January , our accommodation was ready for us when we arrived . There was a musky smell to the kids room and after close inspection we realized that there was a big wet patch in the carpet! After our showers that night we realized why , the drain was unable to cope with the shower and the bathroom floods and runs out the door into the bedroom . It is a great location as we enjoyed the bike track to middleton many times . A couple of small improvements that would be good would be restocking of toilet paper during longer stays and maybe changing towels and getting the drainage sorted
