We enjoyed our outward stay so much, we revisited on our way home. The family welcomed us like we were long standing friends and went out of their way to look after us. The rooms are clean, beautifully decorated and en suite. Beautiful garden and frontage and very typically French. Madam cooked for us and we ate delightfully, including wine...

Our stay there was excellent in every regard. An excellent meal was prepared for us as we arrived in the area late and had no other dinner plans. It was an exquisite feast, and that just set the tone for our visit. Rooms were large and fitted with the most up to date amenities. Breakfasts were a veritable festival of...

You think you've experienced some pretty decent b&b's........and then you stay with Genevieve and Francois-Xavier Mercier at Clos St George in Baralle in the Pas de Calais in Northern France. What hospitality and what lovely people. Dinner was far better than we could have found in a restaurant locally and a glass of wine together with our hosts beforehand was...

This is one of the best B&B's we have stayed in, and is in a perfect position for visiting WW1 museums and memorials. The home is absolutely enchanting and full of history. The rooms are beautifully decorated in French chateau style, and the ensuite bathrooms are large and luxurious. All is very clean, comfortable, and spacious. The property is in...

We were simply passing through the area but we were very happy to stay in such a beautiful home in a quiet little village. The owner was very kind and welcoming and made every effort to accommodate our requests. The room was large, very clean, and we slept comfortably with 2 baby cots in the room! Thank you for such...

We came to the Somme to visit the museums and memorials to those who fought in WW1 and we were so fortunate to stay in Genevieve and Francois' beautiful home, they along with their son were so friendly and helpful, we were sad to leave. The house has a history of it's own and was close to the front in...

This guesthouse in Baralle in an old abbey, is located in a quiet area and surrounded by trees and farmbuildings. The room was spacious for two persons and a nice view over the garden and the host was very welcoming. Breakfast was marvellous as well. In short: a great guesthouse to stay, you won't be dissapointed.

This charming Chambre d'Hote is in a great old house and very friendly and engaging owners. Offer evening meal which is shared with them and keen to practice their English! Only stayed as stopover but plan to return as a base to visit the Louvre at Lens and the Matisse museum

A fabulous setting for a chateau. Part of a farm this historic building has survived two world wars and has been restored extensively by it's owners whose family have been there for over 60 yrs. The rooms are modern with fine furniture and spotlessly clean. Francois and Geneviève are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Situated in a...

Excellent hosts, Genevieve and Francois-Xavier gave us in addition, lots of information in particular about local visitor sites. We stayed three nights and had no trouble finding things to do in the area. Situated in a quiet village in its own grounds, you feel very much in the countryside. The towns of Cambrai and Arras are a drive away. The...
