Bells Beach Backpackers is located at the beginning of the Great Ocean Road. Our hostel is described by most as homely and welcoming. An important part of our family and welcome party is Bella our Black Labrador. She loves to meet new people that stay with us here. You will find all the necessary facilities in our hostel. A fully stocked kitchen. Lockers in our rooms (provide your own lock or buy one from us). Full bed linen provided. Towels are available to hire for $3.00. Free Wifi throughout the hostel. Free Tea and Coffee facilities. Free parking (space limited) Free play with Bella Our primary goal is to provide you with a comfortable restful sleep while staying at Bells Beach Backpackers.

I was pleasantly surprised by Bells Beach Backpackers and would definitely stay there again!
Being only a 10 - 15 minute walk to the main shopping strip, a few minutes walk from a local brewery and delicious cafe, it makes for the perfect location to stay.
The owner was welcoming, and very accommodating, called to check our arrival time and left the key out for us so we could easily access when we arrived.
The rooms are small, but all you need for a couple who is out and about exploring all Torquay has to offer. Comfy bed, and nice spacious kitchen with a massive backyard for hanging out in and bbqs for cooking.
There’s parking on site and close by which is handy as well.

Hi, Thank you for taking the time to write your review and for the kind words about Bella and my little hostel down here in Torquay. Obviously we are not going to be a major hotel but always want to provide a comfortable stay for our guests. My core belief is that when you make a reservation it is about a bed. So comfort and cleanliness are most important to me. Year in year out we strive to improve on what we have and offer more as we go along. But this is baby steps for us as we don't have the big corporate backing that others have. I wish you the best for 2020 and hope that we can look after you again soon. Regards Sean

The hostel itself was really great, it was clean, tidy and had all the amenities you need plus great hang out spots. Perfect position only 5 minutes walk to the beach & cafes. Sean was really welcoming which made me feel at ease (especially because I was travelling on my own). Great conversations with him and Bella (the dog). I met a whole bunch of new people and had a blast. I can't recommend this place enough!!!

I enjoyed my stay at Bells Beach Backpackers. The owner is super nice, all the amenities are clean, and the outdoor areas are great to meet other people. Wi-Fi also worked really well. I slept in my van for the night, they allow van parking overnight which is great for anyone travelling down the Great Ocean Road.

This is such a great place to stay due to the great positive energy floating around the hostel. It is clean, spacious and just a short walk to the beach etc. An added bonus is also Bella and Cindy two beautiful Labrador’s who also live in the hostel, they made me feel so at home. I would highly recommend staying here on your trip to Torquay.

friendly staff and immaculate facilities, can't fault the place at all. love the 2 resident canines, nice warm addition to the place. handily located near restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarkets and the surf outlet stores. easy walk to the beach

We booked an unpowered site for our van. The host is very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms and showers are clean. There is a kitchen and a bbq to share with other guests and a big sofa where you can relax watching tv. In few minutes by car you can reach famous Bells Beach.

Stayed for one night after doing the Great Ocean Road. Owner was really helpful and friendly and was willing to facilitate early check in which was great. Really clean facilities and shared areas, room had everything that you could need. Bella the dog really made the place feel like home. Will definitely be back!

My friend and I stayed here for a few days and did have any problems at all. The hostel had a very homely vibe to it and the rooms were comfortable. We loved the outdoor area especially the ping pong table! Will definitely come back again :))

Great hostel with clean amenities and close to restaurants and beaches. The staff and owner are very friendly and contribute to the great atmosphere. It's not a party hostel yet still easy to meet others and they have a grouse outdoor part. Would stay here again.
