Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Large park but you would be boxed in during the peak season as there are hundreds of sites. We were there off season and it was a pleasant stay. Facilities very clean and a nice quiet park. Staff friendly.

Also on the site is a large facility used by groups. The Lodge has bunk beds, four to a room, with full kitchen, lounge, outdoor under cover dining area, multiple bathrooms, laundries, and facilities for about 80 people. It is very comfortable and we brought a big group of people to enjoy it.

Rude staff Booking a nightmare Dangerous roads sending massive vans and trucks through the park to get out when they are 50mtr from gate No hot water Amenities disgusting, rolls of loose toilet paper every where, dirty toilets, cleaner says "not my problem"

Last year we spent a couple of weeks here. We've stayed here in the past and it is a clean park close to the beach. However it is VERY expensive during holidays and last year we paid what I considered quite a bit of money for a grass site. Due to the La Nina (not their fault) we had to leave our camp for quite a long time due to flooding of the area (poor drainage was their fault). Our site also had insufficient protection against the weather (again the park's responsibility). Many sites do have great protection from high strong hedges but if you're site is exposed it is unbearable in poor weather. We were never offered any discount or compensation for having to leave the site during our booked period. Almost everyone in our section left early or had to move into other accomodation during the horrific weather. Despite this we made a booking for the following summer, hopeful things might be different this year and knowing how hard it can be to get a site. There was a lot of pressure to book early. We subsequently decided not to continue with the booking (and we knew we would forfeit our deposit). Received a message asking us to make more payments and now telling us they are charging us an extra cancellation fee. This information was not given at the time of booking and are now trying to charge us. Lady who rang us was abominably rude with appalling customer service skills. If you're looking for somewhere that has their hand in your pocket go here. We will be heading back overseas where you aren't charged $000s of dollars for an uninhabitable grass site in a wind tunnel or are spoken to like dirt by staff.

We were excited to be staying at the Caravan park as part of our Port Fairy Folk Festival weekend. Unfortunately one of our children pulled a RAT+ an hour before we were to leave Melbourne, so we couldn't go. The team at Soutcombe refunded us, in full, and without any stress or pain. Says alot, me thinks.

Loved it here for its great location to walk everywhere in Port Fairy town and nice big sites and clean amenities. Next door is the Cricket ovals where great to throw a ball or throw a frisbee with your dog. In the hot days a walk and ride up to town to Poco for a nice Gelato/Ice Cream a must. Lots of things around to pass the days away or just relax at the nearby beach.

Nice place to pull up as it is a 5 minute walk to town and the beach. Sites are quite close together and the park is huge. Everything near and tidy. The dump point was the cleanest I had ever seen. We are from Queensland and would definitely go back if ever in town.

Do not book hollidays during early january as when the rod run is on they get to please themselves when they come and if your booking is in that time you will be told you can not have your own site during that time, totally not fair as no one else can just please themselves as to when they come. On going booking for in excess of twenty years on this site however 40 plus years within the park itself on other sites. Reduced time to cater to rod run arrivals at park request whowever now told the reduced time is now booked ( so basically lost that time) Buyer beware throughought january

Great park with huge, open areas. Excellent facilities. Walking distance to everything in Port Fairy. Have stayed here off season many times. Love the open spaces and closeness to town centre. Well maintained, neat & tidy.
