Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very enjoyable experience from start to finish. Starting with the friendly waitress who looked after us, to the traditional decor filled with Christmas decorations. But most of all we enjoyed our mussels and hamburger meals. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

Food was great. Service was great. Jody Debbie and Kelly ( the chef) made it a great experience. Wish we were staying in port fairy longer so I could eat there again. Fantastic porter house steak and I am from Alberta Canada

The food that was recommended by Jody was excellent. My porterhouse steak was one of the best ever eaten. The vegetables served with it were delicious not the usual overcooked style often served in pubs. My husband had fish and chips - the fish was local and delicious which is uncommon these days. My dessert of dark chocolate with beetroot Coulis was an unusual combination that worked perfectly. I was so impressed I asked the chef Kelly to come out so I could compliment her personally. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Try it you’ll like it. My only complaint is we are not staying longer to come again tomorrow night. Liz from Sydney

Excellent meal. We were visiting from Canada and had an awesome evening. Jody was attentive and the food recommended by her was outstanding. I had the chicken which was so good, two of our group had the porterhouse steak and raves about how good it was the other had the local fish which was so good as well. We tried a new dessert by Chef Kelly it was a chocolate flan with a beetroot coulis again outstanding. Truly a great evening. 5 stars well deserved.

Ordered grilled flake chips and salad and pork belly and Asian stir fry. Fish meal came with no salad. Pork belly needed a steak knife to cut it and very fatty. Staff were friendly which saved the day. Ambiance was good. Wine was reasonably priced

Great old school atmosphere. Pretty pricy. Thankfully though the food was great. The one single pool table must be made of gold cause they wouldn’t let anyone use it which was disappointing but gold is gold. Lol. 3 mains one soup and 6 drinks $160

Got in quite late on a Saturday night. The staff were fantastic. We had the chicken wings as starters and the Thai pumpkin soup and Beef and Guiness pie for mains. Both were fantastic. Only recommendation is that the Beef pie have chunky pieces as opposed to minced beef

Wasn't worth the time. Food overcooked, service poor and god forbid you have a birthday cake because you will be charged $2.50 per person for the privilege of using a plate. DON'T DO IT GO ELSEWHERE. YOU WON'T BE SORRY!!!

Great casual dining experience. Can't understand all the negative reviews. We had a very positive experience, food fresh and tasty, meals arrived together and staff attentive and friendly. Even welcomed our son and partner's dog which was main reason we chose this venue.

Disappointing meal experience ….lots of food was ‘off tonight’ and what we finally had was poor quality- greasy calamari with soggy chips although salad was pleasant - one of our group had their calamari with veg which appeared to be frozen mixed veg dumped on the plate….colourless and tasteless…no chips. The ‘boneless pork rib burger’ was tasteless and seemed to be a minced meat patty in a cold bun with coleslaw….meals were around $30 and were very poor quality…..would not eat there again…..plenty of other restaurants in Port Fairy served us excellent food at this price aver the week we were there. Very disappointed.
