We were looking at exploring Port Fairy during the Australia day weekend.
We were unfortunate to book a last-minute trip, but incredibly fortunate to find Gum Tree Caravan Park. We appreciate theirs affords and how much they provide. I would really like to thank them in this write-up.

We communicated with them over the phone, and they were nice enough to explain to us that all cabins were booked, but they located us in an awesome camping spot with plenty of space.

Gum Tree Caravan Park is conveniently located on the bike trail in Port Fairy. You can wander into the city from the bike trail. If you like it, you can ride along to Koroit for a day trip. You can spend time in Port Fairy paddleboarding in the harbour or for a hike to Griffith Island. Please talk to the owner for their hot seafood and food tips.

Owners were incredibly diligent on all of our requests. They cleaned all amenities (bathrooms and kitchen) all day long, multiple times. They were very careful on contact tracing.

We were impressed with the kitchen that included water kettle, a stove, a microwave and a BBQ.

We enjoyed the surprise Onward movie on Saturday night. Thank you very much.

This is a small family-owned Australian business. The owners were incredibly nice giving local tips and their stories. The campground was incredibly clean and awesome. Since then we see other campgrounds and we always think of how lucky we were with the space, cleanliness, and amount of comfort we had.

Thank you.

We enjoyed a three night stay in a cabin at Gum Tree caravan park with two other groups of family members in adjacent cabins. The park is very tidy and well maintained, and we were welcomed in a friendly and informative manner on arrival.

The cabin was very modern and spotlessly clean, with all the mod cons we needed for a short stay. It was also dog-friendly (and a reason we chose this park) so we could bring our recently acquired rescue dog with us for her first holiday!

The enormous dog park is a great facility too, plenty of room for the dogs to let off some steam and fully fenced.

The location is good, just off the main Princes Highway into Port Fairy, but far enough away to not be impacted by traffic noise. Port Fairy itself was just a few minutes' drive away or a little longer by bike along the rail trail, which was easily accessible a few hundred metres up the road from the caravan park.

The park wasn't busy and was very peaceful, a perfect spot for a family get-together in these unusual times, and kudos for being so accepting of the non-human members of families too!

We had such a relaxing time in our caravan with our two dogs. If you have a dog there is the most wonderful off lead area for your dogs to play. Port fairy is such a lovely place to visit and Gumtree caravan park is a tucked away little gem. It’s away from all the busy crowds. The owners here offer old fashioned hospitality and can help you park your van after a long tiring drive. Nothing is too much trouble! The amenities showers, toilets, camper kitchen and grounds are spotlessly clean! Cleanest we’ve come across. The grass caravan site was perfect. Thank you to everyone at Gum Tree. We look forward to visiting again.

Is ok to stay at, we got a cabin for two nights. Dishes in cabin were not clean and the water pressure and hot water in the shower is terrible. Almost impossible to wash yourself properly. I would prefer to stay at the other caravan park that I have stayed at before.

Viv was so helpful with information on dog friendly locations, being available to help with wetsuits should the need arise and access to the go-carts! The off dog leash area was great. The park is beautifully maintained. The park is close to Port Fairy. A hidden gem that is well worth the price.

Great little caravan park, which turned out to be one of its best features. Very clean, very quiet, family orientated park thats about 5 min out of town.
The owners Viv and Pete we’re wonderfull hosts and went out of there way to assist people in any way they could. This is the first time I’ve written a review, but after the 2 weeks me, my parter and two young kids spent there, I was so impressed with the people and the park, I felt it was the least I could do. We will be going back there for sure.

Great little caravan park for a quiet getaway. Stayed in the Superior Ensuite Cabin. Fantastic condition with everything you would need. Pet friendly with a large off leash area for the dog to run free. Very friendly owners. Highly recommend.

Camping is has not been my way of accommodation for many many years ... but my husband & myself thought we would take off in our own state to see the beautiful coast & landed at Port Fairy for the night. Gone are the days of rocking up at 7pm (even daylight savings & summer)... no where answer the phone but 1 & they said everything was locked up!! 1st place into town we tried & Viv was in the reception & was so lovely, we chose a powered site (for a light to play cards under) & were given a map of town with everything pointed out in person as to where we should go... even down to the right pub as my husband is a coeliac. Thank you Gum Tree Caravan Port Fairy for a lovely quiet place to pitch our swag.

I loved this caravan park. So neat & tidy! The cabins are spacious and the bed super comfortable. They had everything we needed for a comfortable stay for 1 night. Very friendly staff who were very accommodating with a late check in. I couldn’t rate this place any higher. Fantastic. Dog friendly too!!

Brilliant small pet friendly caravan park. Well looked after with grassed areas, clean well appointed kitchen.
Fantastic on and off leash areas for dogs.
We stayed a cabin very clean and one of the most comfortable beds ever. Close enough to Port Fairy centre but far enough for absolute quiet.
