We spent one night here while driving the Great Ocean Road. The night before and the night after were both functional motel stops, so the Merrijig Inn really stands out. Plus side: Our room in the attic was tiny, but quaint, cosy and nicely decorated. And our bed was blissfully comfortable. They are rightfully proud of their kitchen and we...

Coming down for a long weekend was perfect. The accommodation is simple and great value, the breakfast is a delight, the staff are hugely warm, friendly and helpful. Couple that with the incredible restaurant and it's a stone winner.

After a nine hour flight and the drive from Melbourne to Port Fairy we were ready to crash out. What a friendly welcome, our room was upgraded to best available, which was great, seperate lounge area, great bathroom facility and our own private veranda. We really enjoyed dinner, restaurant does not operate every night. They have a talented chef and...

We stayed at Merrijig Inn after doing the Great Ocean Road, on the way up to the Grampians. We only stayed a night and did not have the chance to eat at the restaurant (it was closed the night we were staying) even though we have read many lovely things about it. What we loved was the beautiful back garden...

This is the oldest inn within the State and in many respects it is an historic monument. It is old, quaint, and a through back to days gone by. The room we had in the ground floor at the front was comfortable, with a great shower one of the best this trip. Having said this it is also slightly odd,...

I would not recommend this Inn in Port Fairy . It was very disappointing . Very glad we only had to stay one night. Also the staff leave around 5. 30 pm closeing the place leaving no restaurant or bar facilities open in the evening for people staying there.

We really loved our stay here. The Inn is full of special touches and makes it very homely and welcoming. Dinner was excellent, the details and service appreciated. We look forward to returning soon. Thank you

We only stayed here one night, leading onto The Great Ocean Road. Our room was just to the side of the front door. Lovely and cosy. Small TV room off the bedroom. Bedding was so good. We did not eat in the restaurant but visited the local pizza place. The breakfast had everything you could want, to satisfy all. Only...

If you are staying here and want a drink, you'd better be quick about it. We just slipped under the wire at 5.30, just before the lady went off home. This prepares you for Port Fairy itself, which all closes early. We got a pizza in a restaurant which saw us out at 8.15, locking the door behind us. Our...

Our party of 4 had dinner at the Merrijig Inn recently. We were not staying in-house. The meal was good, but BEWARE: when we received our bill, we had been overcharged $10 on a $45 bottle of wine, and three of our four main courses 'accidentally' had $2.00 added to their price. Not a huge amount, but the principal is...
