This pet friendly park is located on the banks of the Moyne River, next door to the local botanical gardens, a short work from the local shopping center one way and the Southern Ocean beach the other. With spacious sites, clean and tidy amenities, walks, boutique shopping and a range of cafes and eateries nearby, alongside all of the usual attractions of a seaside location add up to make this an excellent place to relax for a few days - or even longer! Well worth a stay if you are passing through this area and wish to sample the charms of this (usually) quiet seaside town. At the time we traveled there is a very reasonable tariff for the facilities offered

Like many we are restricted in our overseas travels at the moment, so we are getting out to see more of Victoria. We’ve driven through Port Fairy, but never stayed. This town is fabulous - visit if you can.
We chose Gardens Caravan Park for no particular reason - and we were very pleasantly surprised.
This caravan park is ideally situated between East Beach and the Moyne river, so long walks are right on your doorstep. It is also a gentle stroll to the main shopping area.
Gardens is well laid out with clean amenities in very good condition (showers, camp kitchen, etc).
We stayed in cabin 7 - Nankeen. We found it very comfortable and well appointed. It was clean, but not new (which only added to how cosy we found it). Basic supplies are provided which was welcome (dishwashing liquid, tea towel, etc).
A little closer attention to some maintenance would have made it a perfect stay. I’d also recommend an upgrade to a standard 600mm stove/ oven. We found the height of the mini oven difficult to see what we we cooking (and we are both over 165cm), and a bit inconvenient as it is so small. We solved the problem easily by using the camp kitchen gas cook top and the bbq. But for the $$ a full, working oven and gas cook tops would have been perfect.

We enjoyed an overnight stay at the Gardens caravan park, staying in the "Fairy Wren" standard cabin. The park was easy to find and the cabins very handily located just behind the reception.

Pre-stay communication was excellent and check-in was completely contactless. The standard cabin was clean and tidy with all we needed for a comfortable overnight stay. While these cabins are certainly not new or modern, ours was furnished in a contemporary style and was quite spacious with good aircon and hot water.

The location of the park is great, a short walk across to the lovely East beach and a nice walk to the river and town centre. The park itself appears to be superbly maintained, everything was very tidy and looked cared for.

A handy place to stay to explore the lovely town of Port Fairy and beyond, we'd be very happy to base ourselves in a cabin here for a longer stay next time!

We have stayed in this park previously enjoyed a wine with our dinner. We have booked for 4 nights for the Port Fairy Folk Festival in March. Our car and wrist bands arrived by mail this week with quite a surprise. No where in the information online when booking or previously when we stayed is there any mention of “No Alcohol in park and your car and van will be checked”. OMG happy hour with lemonade

We have been visiting this Caravan Park with our friends for about 8 years now and still keep coming back. The staff at the park will do everything to ensure you and your group will get the site/cabin you want and at a reasonable cost. The park is immaculate and there is so much to keep the kids entertained with the oval, river and beach. Cannot wait till our next visit.

The park is located along the river with great views. The site we had on the river was huge with plenty of shade. Apart from the toilets also used for the footy ground, the two main shower blocks we used were great. The park is located a short walk from town. Will stay there next time.

Room Tip: Choose a powered site on the river if possible. However, other sites looked good too.

We were a party of 4 caravans so 8 people and 4 dogs. The caravan park is close to East Beach and is on The Moyne River. There is a lot of park like areas actually in the park with huge moreton bay figs and other enormous trees. It has an excellent camp kitchen and covered in area for groups to sit in to if the weather isn't suitable for sitting outside. We enjoyed our time there and would go back. The life saving club is across the road and does a good brekkie. It is just a few minutes walk into town across the bridge.

The staff on arrival were lovely and friendly.
The site that we had been booked on was so far away that we felt that we were not part of the park. They allowed us to move closer and we were on site 105. On arrival they did tell us that there would be football the next day, but not that we would become a car park. We were not able to leave our awning out as people were driving there cars so close to our site that they were parking right next to us, so no room for our awning. We had to be careful of our hoses as they were just driving all over them. When we contacted reception, there answer was we told you there was a game on, it must be a big one as lots of people here. This is not satisfactory as we are paying for this site and therefore should be considered. Also we were relying on their knowledge of the local situation. There was no duty of care from them.
The amenities block is a good walk away, although there is public toilets from the football field that we can use, although not recommended after a football game. We were told it suited self contained vehicles, which we are
It was peaceful on the first night and it is a lovely walk in to town and around the wharf. On our second night it was difficult to sleep as some of the football crowd did not leave till late in the night.
Also be aware that people from the crowd were looking in to caravan and motorhome windows while the owners were away. We did not stay for the last night as felt uncomfortable leaving our motorhome.

Gardens caravan park had everything you needed. It is such a big park which meant it was very busy this time of the year. The park is located great within port fairy, the beach is right there and it is a short walk into the town centre which was great. The staff on arrival where amazing, really went the extra mile and pointed out some great spots to go to ect and fully explained the park layout.

It’s our first camping trip, we booked a powered site. and absolute enjoy the stay. The caravan park is just a short walk (5 minutes) to the beach. The place is well kept and toilet is clean. There are a basketball court and tennis court top. Highly recommended.
