Daisies is a perfect location for a beach retreat. It was wonderful to hear and see the ocean. The accommodation itself has so much potential. It would have been a beautiful retreat in previous years but needs a good spring cleaning and some extra utensils for cooking.

We were looking forward to our stay, having read the good reviews and seen pictures of the beautiful location on the beach. Daisy’s probably was lovely and could be again - but it now needs a good clean and some essential maintenance. It was also lacking the warm welcome we had found everywhere else on our 8 week tour of Australia. The bathroom towels were still damp and there were areas of thick grime in cupboards, drawers, skirting boards, light-switches etc. The biggest problem was the degraded mortar under the stone floor next to the windows, meaning that the flag stones moved and there were large gaps around the French windows and elsewhere in the apartment. Basically this meant that anything outside that wanted to come in had very easy access. The floor and shelves of the wardrobe all had mouse droppings, there were a number of cobwebs and by about 9.30pm we had large numbers of grass-hoppers in the living room - and later in the bedroom. As we shut the curtains, the curtain pole fell off. Perhaps also worth saying that in our case, our breakfast had been delivered earlier in the evening. It was 4 unwrapped slices of white bread, a pot of butter, 2 small pots of jam and two very small glasses of orange juice. Will spare readers the ins and outs of our conversations with the owner but we left after the evening grass-hopper invasion and went elsewhere for our three night stay in Port Fairy. We saw plenty more grass-hoppers but none in our room!

We enjoyed two nights here beside the wide sandy Port Fairy beach. The two bedroom apartment was ample for the two of us. The place is clean with a small kitchen area if you wish to self cater. You need a car to get into the town where there are basic shops and a few restaurants. John, The owner lives on site and gives many helpful tips.

Fabulous location right on the beach on the edge of Port Fairy. Very well equipped 2 bed apartment with amazing views from lounge and bedroom. Owner John could not have been more helpful. Would love to have stayed longer.

On the drive from Adelaide to Melbourne on the Great Ocean Road we wanted to stay in Port Fairy, a nice quaint town. An agent had booked our stay at Daisies and we were not disappointed. Our room faced the bay and mind you Daisies is on the beach! The B&B was clean, roomy, and after several hours in the car made for an ideal spot to end the day. Cocktails on the beach while watching people swim, surf, or just relax walking the wide and long beach. Very quiet and again, the location is one of the best kept secrets if you want to go relax at the beach. Next morning the sunrise was not just the beginning of the day but spectacular......stunning

Daisies B & B really is in an out of this world location. Step out of your room and you are straight onto a vast sweeping bay of golden sand. Reminded me of the Isles of Scillies (near to where I live) but 20 degrees warmer. Lovely room and helpful host. I agree with other comment about bathroom floor...after a shower water collects around base of toilet and sits here - floor slopes the wrong way! stayed 2 nights and loved the location.

This would be a 5 star B and B with a few points put right. The location is right on the beach which you can walk down to through the little garden or sit outside admiring the view also seen through the sliding glass doors. The room(Daisies) is very spacious with very comfortable double bed and large bathroom with shower and spa bath plus sofa, table and chairs. Coffee, tea and fresh milk are supplied and a cooked breakfast of 2 poached eggs each, bacon, sausages and fried tomatoes brought to your room. Cereals are provided. But there are a large number of cobwebs around, the room is not very clean and the sheets had marks on them. The shower also flows back and floods the area around the toilet and the whole suite smelt of damp on arrival. There are 2 heaters and reverse air conditioning plus electric blankets on the bed.

This charming B&B was just the tonic for a couple of nights away. John welcomed us like family and our room ('Daisies') was beautifully presented with every comfort we could need. Our lullaby of crashing waves each night soothed our sleep and the spa was just what our sore muscles needed after long, long walks along the beach (which was literally on our doorstep!). We really appreciated being able to visit with our well behaved little doggie also and she absolutely loved her beach break too! John's home cooked breakfast was delicious and well timed. We can't wait to return! :)

We stayed at Daisies by the Sea on our road trip along the Great Ocean Road in south Australia, friendly welcome , great room but the view from the room was stunning. Within sight and sound of the sea! Lovely to have breakfast brought to your room to enjoy that view that bit longer Would recommend to anyone Thanks John
