Just returned from an excellent night away at The Phesant. Our room was very comfortable with beautiful views over the neighbouring fields. The Jacuzzi bath and very comfy bed were a winner, as were the thoughtful welcoming touches. We also stayed for dinner, which was wonderfully put together - the specials board was very tempting and my husband fell in...

TERRIBLE SERVICE......, Although 2 of our party had reasonable meals, 2 didn't, both having the duck main we found it was like eating rubber, no care or consideration was made at any time, we had to ask for drinks and even water. Bearing in mind it was a Saturday Night the staff began Hoovering and putting out the Breakfast items,...

We took advantage of the half price January room and food offer and stayed two nights in the delightful Courtauld room with views over the surrounding countryside. The room is in a modern extension at the side of the pub and was finished to a very high standard with a king size bed. The restaurant in the pub offered good...

We stayed overnight for a wedding close by. The bar has a reasonable selection and is fairly olde worlde. The rooms are very well appointed with good views. Nice and clean as well. The breakfast was outstanding. Good local produce well cooked and presented. If you need a place to stay you won't go wrong here.

We had The Mark Catesby room which is a ground floor disabled room. Large wet room with large flip up seat under shower. Two sinks, a slightly smaller one at a lower level for a wheelchair user. Lots of usefully placed rails and a wicker chair in the corner to sit on. Slightly disappointed with the toiletries which were very...

This was my second stay at The Pheasant and I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. I arrived at around 9pm from London where I live and work and received a warm welcome from the proprietors. The restaurant was full and there was a mixture of locals and visitors enjoying the scrumptious beer and homemade food which looked delicious. My room...

A one night stay turned into a perfect short break. Arrived early and went for a long walk around the fields and woods following the footpaths. On our return we were shown to our rooms and what a delight ours was - large, comfortable, warm with a lovely view over the fields. There was a plentiful supply of teas (yes,...

An unexpected invitation to celebrate the New Year with friends.,gave us the great good fortune no only to enjoy excellent company, but a warm friendly welcome to this really love old inn. The evening included 10 taster courses, which actually allowed us to actually really taste the food, as portions were generous, not bite size, There was a quiz which...

We were staying in Belchamp Walter for Chistmas and this was recommended in our cottage as a dog friendly pub and the closest to where we were staying. Headed over there on a crisp winters day with our dog, only to be told we couldn't come in with our dog as the chef was allergic to dogs. It was a...
