Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I don't blame the park for this Australia wide problem of the lack of twin beds in accommodation. We really wanted a river front cabin with separate beds for two and this meant a one bedroom cabin that could accommodate four people. There may have been something on offer but already booked for at least one of the nights we wanted to stay. Consequently we had a double bed in the lounge room facing the small screen tv with a couch at the end of the bed with space enough for legs but that was all. The tv was not viewable from the couch.

The kitchen equipment was reasonable but my test is a pair of scissors in the cutlery drawer and there wasn't. Nor was there a spare roll of toilet paper but of course you can ask at the office for one, but why not have a spare roll. Tissues were not supplied.

The a/c worked well to warm us and I think the cabin was well insulated.

We weren't disappointed with our view of the river and the cabins are cleverly oriented to not have a neighbour being able to see you on your balcony from their cabin.

The bird life is amazing to watch, particularly cockatoos, blue wrens and kookaburras. There are warnings to not feed the birds and they are there for a good reason. The birds become very pushy at any sign of food. Just don't!

The park was well maintained but some attention could be given to cleaning down steps of slippery leaf litter to the grassed river verge.

It is far from the best cabin in a caravan park we have stayed in but it was ok. Our friend with is own caravan at a booked site, said it was the most expensive site fee he had ever paid.

We spent 2 nights in a cabin (Erskine) which was very small but perfectly adequate for our needs. Table is tiny, bed takes up most of the room, very little space in the bathroom so be prepared. Kitchenette had all we needed (except a soup ladle, but we managed... 😁). Heating was fabulous. Location was brilliant with the supermarket over the road and the river walk and Visitor Centre right there. Easy access to the Otways which is where we spent our time. Lorne is a fairly expensive place to stay and this cabin was one of the cheaper options. Would definitely stay again.

Caravan spot right in the mud! Lucky we had an inside bathroom and kitchen and gum boots as the mud all around our site was wet and slippery. However Lorne is a very pretty town with lots of cafes. The drive down through the forest was beautiful.

Looking for an unpowered campsite for an overnighter? Look elsewhere.
Toilets and showers look like they are council run, no camp kitchen/cooking facilities (pretty hard for overnight campers). BBQ is community shared and in appalling condition ... did not not even contemplate using. All for $55 / night.😡 Only highlight was local bird life 🦜

We have been on the road for nearly 2 weeks, different site each night. Lorne Foreshore Caravan Park was simultaneously the worst and the most expensive place we’ve stayed so far ($66/ night for small camper van with power). Someone is making a lot of money here!
No hard-stand or site drainage. No grass and lots of mud. Toilets were clean but we’re infested by mosquitoes.
Would definitely not recommend. Much better and cheaper sites nearby (eg Pesco in Apollo Bay).

I am 50 years old and stayed here with a few friends. I have been camping my whole life and have never experienced such power tripping "security" ever before. The first night we were sitting around having a few drinks and were told at 10:04pm to turn the music off. As these were the rules we politely obliged and turned the music off. The following day we were sitting around in a group, having a few drinks and were told AT 5.30PM to turn the music off!!! We again obliged although furious that these "security guards" seemed to have nothing better to do than make our weekend miserable. Never before in all my years camping have we been told at 5.30pm that we were making too much noise. The final night they came around (yet again) and by this stage our group were so frustrated we wanted to leave. The campsites are dirty, dusty, tiny and along with the power trippers don't stay here.

The site was dirt/ mud. The ammenities were very dirty and had not been cleaned properly for some time. The price of $66 for a powered site was outrageous given it was the end of February. Will never return or recommend. The only positive was the proximity to town and beach

Stayed in one of the family
Cabins (2 adults & 2kids). What a great little gem! While the cabins are
Compact, they have every you need for a quick getaway ( bring some extra blankets/doonas if your a cold person). Great location and great playground/bbq area. Our kids had a ball! Supermarket next
Door and coffee shops very convenient location. Short stroll to town so you won’t need to drive. Just don’t bother going to the fish and
Chip shop 2 blocks away- terrible! Walk the extra 5 min to the next one! Get checking experience, quiet family park. Would love to come
Back again in the future

At $55 a night for a site (low season) I do expect decent amenities. This was the worst campsite amenities experience I have ever had. There were birds nesting in the upper rafters they were swooping me when I tried to have a shower. There was bird droppings all over the floor, all over the walls. I had to clean the walls so I could hang up my towel. Can you not put up a barrier so birds can’t nest in the toilet facilities?? Oh and the toilet didn’t flush and I couldn’t lock the door on the shower.

Location is very good within easy walk to Lorne shopping area. The road through the park is a public road with many vehicles using it. The sites were mainly dirt with no grass or slabs. The facilities were not the best but understand it is difficult to keep it clean when it rains. The laundry was very average and expensive. The dryers did nothing to dry the clothes. We had a group of kids with their parents arrive and instead of them being all together they were all over the park so there were kids everywhere instead of in one area. They were pretty good but at times accumulated on the road outside other people’s vans. Probably would not stay here again.

There are a number of caravan parks owners via this organisation. The location we stayed at did not have camp sites.however the location across the road did. Contact the organisation directly for advise.
