We have just had the most amazing stay @ Lemonade Creek Cottages where Liz & Roy have a little piece of paradise beautifuly situated 10 min from Lorne....on a beautiful back road thru the forest leading to Erskine Falls. The cottages a beautifully decroated and so homely you dont want to leave ! Well equiped and most important : PEACE, QUIET, TRANQUILITY AND NO WIFI !!!! So what an excuse to disconnected, take time to enjoy the nature & wildlife, read a book, go for amazing walks & talk to eachother or simply just ressource away for the manic world we live in ! We highly recommend the hidden gems that are these little cottages and if you are fortunate enough to stay there I think you will understand....one lemonade just isn't enough ;-)
We spent 2 nights at Lemonade Creek Cottages and were delighted by our stay. Liz and Roy are such adorable owners. They are very friendly and gave us lots of tips and advises. The property is amazingly maintained and the self contained cottages are adorable. Everything was perfect. The properly is located in the forest a few minutes drive from Lorne. The cottages are tastefully decorated and very comfortable. If you are lucky you'll be able to spot a koala, the wallabies or kangaroos relaxing on the lawn or encounter the beautiful Australian parrots or cockatoos. If you are looking for a quiet place, close to nature, this is the place !!
We’ve stayed here before, and will do,again. It is one of our favourite places in all Australia....honestly. Not a thing is overlooked....so many lovely little inclusions. We stayed in Sarsaparilla Cottage and as soon as you walk in the door, you don’t want to leave ! Liz and her husband, the owners, are the nicest people and make you feel like a king and queen. It’s secluded, quiet, as comfortable as you can imagine, and you are spoiled. Beautiful parrots visit on the verandah overlooking the bush and you get lost in the serenity. One of the most charming accommodations you’ll find.
This is our second stay at Lemonade Creek Cottages and we would gladly come back again. It is a slice of paradise with well maintained, well equipped and clean comfortable cottages surrounded by the most beautiful gardens. The gardens are home to many varieties of birds some of which visit the cottages for bird seed. There is also a local koala that moves around the area and we saw him in the tree just outside our cottage which was fantastic! There are also kangaroos that graze on the golf course at times attached to the cottages. There is also a tennis court for those that are keen. A place you can go to forget the rest of the world and relax or use as a great base to explore the Great Ocean Road. Breakfast food is provided along with wine and chocolates which were great. Don't forget to visit Erskine Falls - they have been beautiful both times we have visited. The owners are very friendly and caring and are a part of the whole experience of staying in this very pretty part of the world.…
We were nearing the end of 2 weeks of our 4 week trip when we found Lemonade Creek Cottages. Oh how I wish we had found them earlier as this was the most delightful and relaxing place we stayed on our trip. Shortly after arriving we walked the grounds and found the kangaroos in front of our cottage. Be sure to walk down to the clearing in the late afternoon to see them. Then Ray came by to feed the birds and we had entertainment right outside our window. Ray recommended the hotel for dinner which did not disappoint. The free washer and dryer complete with detergent was a welcome addition to our stay. In the fridge were all the makings needed for a lovely continental breakfast plus a courtesy bottle of wine. If you wanted to cook, everything is there that you could ask for. Liz came by in the morning to send us on our way with great suggestions for the road ahead. While there she pointed out the koala up in the tree outside our door. Of all the places we stayed in. Australia and NZ, this was by far our favorite. Don’t give booking a second thought. - you won’t be disappointed! Thank you Ray and Liz for your hospitality! Kay and Curt…
We rented this place a retreat away from the city, and it turnt out to be just the getaway we needed! It was blissful being away from technology and being so close to nature. Each cottage has a bird feeding tray, allowing us to meet a variety of beautiful birds right on our doorstep. Ray gave us some seeds so we could feed the birds. There were cute kangaroos and koalas around us as well, which is very nice to wake up to in the morning. Ray and Liz were kind enough to allow us to stay past the checkout time, and was always nearby in case we needed them. All in all, it was the perfect vacation we needed!
From the moment we arrived we knew it was perfect. Liz greeted us and immediately we felt welcome and at ease. The cottage was so comfortable and all of the “little touches” made it a home away from home. With the lack of reception, it just made it even more relaxing and the perfect getaway. This was the perfect place to step out of a “busy work reality” and into a serene and peaceful environment where our minds could truly relax and enjoy nature and the company within. Thank you for such a relaxing stay, and for making us feel so comfortable. We wished we could have stayed longer. We will certainly be back.
This is a hidden gem of course - while making the booking we had the choice of booking in a regular resort in Lorne on the waterfront vs experiencing Lemonade Creek Cottage...I was nervous choosing the latter due to distance from town facilities and was unsure about mobile and internet connectivity. In the end, we made a good decision, it was blissful being away from technology and being so close to nature. I would recommend to all friends visiting Lorne or Great Ocean Rd to experience staying here - absolutely beautiful cottage, no musty smell that are associated with such properties, crisp linen, great facilities...kitchen and bathroom and best of all the verandah is to die for. They have a bird feeding tray outside where one can experience several native bird species and about 11-12 kangaroos ventured close enough to the cottage early in the morning, about 40-50 m away. Most beautiful morning experience on a holiday. Ray and Liz made us feel welcome and were ready to help on anything..would love to stay here again :)…
Just back from a relaxing weekend at Lemonade Creek Cottages. Absolutely fantastic location, beautifully appointed cottage with wine, fruit and breakfast essentials provided. Ray and Liz made us feel at home and took time to talk about the history of the area. Lovely walk to Erskine Falls and a clean warm swimming pool to enjoy. Fabulous bird life and kangaroos visiting in the evening to graze. Can’t recommend the cottages enough, if you’re after a peaceful, tranquil break this is the place to stay.
We had a lovely stay at the Lemonade Creek Cottages. The owner is super friendly. The cottages are beautifully placed with lots of friendly wildlife. The pool is amazing. Perfect for exploring Lorne and the Great Ocean Road.
