Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Quiet location, excellent rooms and friendly staff. The rooms are separate from the bar, restaurant and reception. So the road and tram noise is non existent at the rear of the property. Thoroughly recommend the restaurant, the food, staff were great.

The room was large and very well appointed with a comfortable bed and nice, very modern appointments. Ours was in a separate building behind that with the reception, but it was a level walk and had an elevator so worked out easily. We had a very nice dinner with friends in an almost empty dining room on a Saturday evening, which seemed strange. Unfortunately there was no breakfast, but there were places nearby should we have needed them. We were going to airport, so it did not matter. There was a underground parking, which we did not need, but seemed convenient.

Pros: Comfortable, huge bed Nice balcony although no cover so not great when it rains Lots of free ‘extras’, like wifi, instant coffee, tea and milk, kettle, bottles of water, extra blanket, dressing gown Room service breakfast was great and arrived on time Cons: Way too expensive The place is poorly signposted and almost impossible to navigate Very aloof service, not welcoming at all No recycling bins in the room My heater only worked on and off. I rang the reception to ask about it, told the guy what temperature I wanted when he asked, and he repeatedly tried to persuade me to choose a lower temperature, before hanging up on me. You can’t pay for your room before the day you arrive. You can’t even pay for your room on the day you arrive. You have no choice but to keep the money in your account until you check out. Seems like a policy that will potentially lead to people getting a free room and needing to be chased up later. Why not let us pay in advance if we want to? You can’t pay for the room service breakfast until you check out either. I previously had to cancel a reservation and they asked me for a reason, which was needlessly personal; I don’t know how to politely tell a stranger that the person who was going to have *** with me changed their mind and waited until the last minute to tell me that they weren’t going to show up.

Firstly the location is great, the whole set up of the place is fantastic, the bar down the bottom, although small, served nice food and cold beer! The room, on first vision, was well appointed, not spacious but had everything you’d want, dont dig deeper though! Bedside table had dirty tissues, old wrappers, tobacco, hair in the shower walls, walls marked in bedroom and side table. Advised hotel and they wanted to “clean it” but im ready for bed after a big day so that’s a no, no offer to move rooms! In the morning, reception asking to be sent photos, but no apology, no ‘em ail from management apologising about the disgusting room, no nothing!

A good set up with parking available, admittedly you pay a fee but an good option. I couldn’t get the TV to work but it was fixed very quickly by friendly staff. No instructions on how to navigate the TV etc…. Would be nice to have a book with info about restaurant etc…close by. There was. Bit of noise both inside and outside the hotel which was disappointing as I went there for peace and quiet. Overall a good experience with room for improvements

I attended an event in the restaurant last night with 26 others. Andrew and his staff created a wonderful setting for our group which gave us a semi-private area for our tables. The food was wonderful as was the service. All our members were impressed with the setting, food and service. We'll be back!

What a truly fabulous place to stay! The staff are so warm and friendly. Rooms are spacious and luxurious, the beds are cosy and comfortable. Meals in the restaurant are generous and delicious. Everything you could possibly need is within easy walking distance and for anything else a tram to the city is on the doorstep. Brice and his amazing team will treat you like one of the family in this home away from home.

We had a wonderful time relaxing in the spacious one bedroom spa apartment and especially enjoying a drink out on the balcony and taking in the view. The room was generous and well designed to include everything you need on a staycation to be close to Melbourne and the outer city. Bed was super comfy and the spa was great spot to soak and relax. Smooth check in with a professional and friendly vibe. Easy parking underneath and easy walk to local restaurants. Just found the TV system tricky to use.

My first visit was on 4 December and most recent on 25 and 26 December. Both times, the service was of a high standard, the rooms clean, attractive and very quiet and I enjoyed the stay. The location on Cotham Road Kew is convenient for trams, restaurants and shops, and I loved that I could park underneath the hotel and catch a lift almost to my room - safe and minimal walking with luggage. On my first stay I had a Queen room which was great for one night, and on my second stay I had a larger King Premium room which also gave me a little north-facing terrace to sit in the fresh air. There is 24 hour room service and the hotel has a great grill/restaurant and bar, which - unfortunately but understandably - were closed when I stayed Christmas and Boxing days. But I could order light meals to my room. I thought I'd lost my favourite ear rings in the room when I left and the man on duty spent a good 10 minutes scanning the rooms to try to find them, which I appreciated. I live on the Bellarine Peninsula and plan that this hotel will now be my go-to place to stay when I'm in Melbourne.

Really impressed with this well appointed hotel. Our room featured a seperate lounge and kitchenette. The big bathroom included a sensational spa. Great facilities, good mini bar but would benefit from pod coffee facilities. Having said that you are very close to a range of terrific Melbourne cafes. Great dining options on property, close-by or through Uber eats. Well worth the visit.
