Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed one night. The lodge was clean, comfortable and well appointed, having everything needed for short stays. The site and facilities all looked clean and looked after. The site was located very conveniently close the the Koala sanctuary and opposite the Kangaroo/Wildlife park. Although only staying one night we found the staff to be absolutely brilliant, all so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful!

Very helpful and cheerful staff at this resort, with a most enjoyable happy hour each evening. Close to major attractions such as Koala Reserve, Penguin parade, and GP circuit. Units are a good size for holiday Villas.

The resort, along Phillip Island Rd and just south of the Cowes township, has the atmosphere of a holiday park with accommodation in the form of self-contained villas featuring good amenities such as a stove & oven in the kitchen and televisions in the main bedroom & lounge. The facilities make this the perfect destination for families with pools, a games room, playground tennis courts and karts guaranteed to keep the children entertained. Wildlife is abundant within the resort grounds and I don't think I have ever seen such a large gathering of Cape Barren geese that are happy to honk and keen to graze. The maximum driving speed inside the resort is 15 kilometres per hour and I'm glad to report that cars, kart riders, cyclists and pedestrians were able to co-exist without anybody coming a cropper. Phillip Island is replete with attractions; most of which are just a short drive away and in the case of the Wildlife Park it's just a matter of walking to the resort entrance and crossing the road. The island is renowned for its penguin parade, koala reservation centre and motor racing circuit, but there are many other drawcards that warrant your attention including the Churchill Island Heritage Farm; pelican feeding at the San Remo Jetty (we were fortunate to see a stingray swimming in the shallows); the Nobbies which offers dramatic views, pounding waves & a large fur seal colony; the aforementioned Wildlife Park and; Rhyll Inlet & Wetlands. We also ventured off the island to the Wonthaggi Desalination Plant Ecological Reserve and completed the Bunurong Coastal Drive which extends from Cape Paterson to Inverloch. The resort had its own restaurant in Flametrees and during our stay we dined out at the Lone Pine Bistro (at the local RSL) and Saigon Maggie's in the heart of Cowes.

Excellent stay at an excellent resort. Very friendly and efficient staff and the resort was very relaxing and comfortable. Even with a large number of people around inside the resort it always felt remote

The Ramada Resort was a fun lodging choice. With independent units separated by plentiful trees, you get the feel of being by yourself. There are birds, bushtail possums and other wildlife frequently within the resort property, which is fun. We used the two hot tubs at the remote amenity center and they were well maintained and relaxing. We also took advantage of the complimentary laundry facilities which was a rare benefit. The location put us right in the middle of Phillip Island with easy access to town and other attractions like the Penguin Parade. Recommend. Rated service lower since we had minimal interaction with service team and when we did interact with reception staff they appeared understaffed (lines) and as a result staff were rushed and a touch rude.

We all need to get away sometime ... the Ramada resort is an ideal getaway near Melbourne. It has activities to keep the young and young at heart happy. A friendly and safe town nearby makes the resort even more attractive. For the more active ones there are many trekking paths, beaches and wildlife to explore. You can choose to cook your own meals or choose to eat at the resort itself. The friendly staff are sure to make your trip a memorable one.

Unbelievably bad experience. Putting aside the disorganisation, terrible service, lack of cleanliness and caravan park style facilities, it was the smell and the ants in the bed that was most off-putting. Check in took forever (20 mins +) in a very small area with 7 people inexplicably being served simultaneously in a thoroughfare where people were trying to drag suitcases through to exit some sort of small cafe/bar. Basically the reception/cafe/bar area area was tiny and wasn't fit for purpose. As it was within two metres of a bar it enabled me to take three steps to the left of check in and purchase a $42 bottle of $15 wine while I waited. We finally reached the room to find it had a strong odour. We found out why later that evening when we got into bed and the ants started biting us. We spent the night killing ants on ourselves and on our 3 month old twin babies. At one stage I killed two ants on my son's head as I fed him, but missed another that darted down his jumpsuit. I approached reception who said they could send someone down to "re-spray" or we could wait until 10am to be allocated a new room which would also have been sprayed due to the extent of the pest problem. I was told they spray all rooms for ants prior to guest arrival. This dumbfounded me. What kind of "eco resort" sprays rooms. I had called in advance of booking to ensure the room would be suitable for newborns. I had in mind not disturbing others. I had no idea I was placing them in a room full of pesticides. I expressed my disgust and said I was checking out but was annoyed that I would need to pay a lot more for a last minute booking at another facility. At this stage I was offered a "full refund" and told to return for the refund as we checked out. I arranged a time and to ask for the Manager to process the refund. When I returned to check out I was told the Manager couldn't be expected to hang around all day waiting for me despite my having arranged a time. I was told the Manager had gone to Wonthaggi and I would receive a refund for that evening, not a full refund. As I tried to explain that I had been offered a full refund given I was now paying extra to book another hotel the Manager who was clearly not in Wonthaggi walked in. She admitted offering a full refund but said her understanding was that she was offering a refund for that evening. I explained that is a partial refund to no avail. Ultimately we received a refund for one evening. The upshot is the room stunk, it had a terrible ant problem and the service is rotten.

What a beautiful resort, right in the heart of Phillip Island, close to everything, peaceful, relaxing, calm quiet, with everything you need. The Villa we stayed in was well presented (I feel like recently renovated) spacious and extremely comfortable Fantastic resort for families. We can't fault our experience at the resort, staff were very friendly. We took family from South Australia for 5 days, it wasn't long enough.
