Like many others have said, Noise ( with plenty of foul language) from Smoking area out back of restaurant/ TAB was really, really annoying. It was right outside my door! Why, why, why would they put me in that room when the hotel was nearly empty, knowing I come down here for work often. You’d think they would want me to come back as a regular. I tried calling the office, couldn’t get anyone, tried calling the bar to see what time they were likely to stop serving or close, couldn’t get through. Admittedly it only went on for a couple of hours. Was quiet by 9pm or thereabouts. Also the smell of smoke wafting into room wasn’t pleasant. I mentioned this to the girl on check out who apologised (not her fault) and a man also checking out heard me and agreed with me. He wasn’t happy with the room he and his family were in and the noise either. Have eaten at the restaurant a few times and food, service is usually good.…
Overall we had a great stay. Everything you would want. Unfortunately no staff restricted things that could be done but a big hooray to the staff that made our stay fantastic. Will definitely be back even if it stays exactly the same. Thanks and keep it up.
My wife and I dropped in for lunch where I ordered the Aussie Parma. This was OK but looked as if it had been thrown together. BUT my wife’s Brisket burger (daily special) was basically inedible. An undercooked slice of beef with a lot of fat and gristle on a soggy piece of lettuce topped with a cheese slice. $28 was a joke. Avoid this bistro at all costs.
The room needs to be refurbished. Toilet brush container is very rusty and shower curtain rod is heading the same way. I cleaned the filter in A/C to get heater to work. Situated in a great spot with main street 100 metres away and overlooking the bay
The hotel was very busy and a little noisy but the food was very well worth the noise. We moved from inside and sat out the front and it was a little better. The staff continued to clean and keep the tables clean and sanitised. The ordering was very easy and you got a buzzer to go and pick your meal up from the girls. I had the Thai Pork entree and chicken and mushroom pasta. Both very nice.
Poor service poor menu everything accompanied with coleslaw average to say the least Staff were rude and unable to communicate Front of house security over bearing and condescending The worst service on the island I’ve ever encountered no recommended
Paid well over the costs advertised on this site. Booked a bay view queen room. Apparently room for four. Two chairs at a very small dining table. Four cups & saucers but only one teaspoon!! As my partner had a diabetic condition tried to get a toaster for emergencies (had brought bread, butter, etc.).. was told no. Asked for a knife, plate etc in the morning (had to beg the cleaner at the bistro) . Went to the office when they opened and was told we only have tea and coffee facilities because of the mess. I begged for a bowl and spoon and was given one of each. I paid over $300 a night for no facilities, no lounge chairs a disgrace. The room was noisy every night as the bistro was loud, parking was difficult, needs a complete overhaul in terms of the treatment of visitors. Not worth the money!…
Only stay here if you’re with your mates partying or are just looking for a cheap stay. It’s in a great location right next to the north pier pub, walking distance to main strip in Cowes and next to the beach. Definitely not for a family or relaxing couples holiday. It’s SO noisy. You hear people in the pub all night. Cars on the gravel going in and out. You can hear the next room’s conversations. Someone turned their spa jets on above us and it sounded like I was under a jumbo jet plane. Room itself was tidy. Beautiful view if you get one of the bay view rooms. Balcony was covered in spider webs and hung over the pub without privacy so we didn’t make much use of it.
Probably one of the worst ever places I ever stayed at, carpet was stinking, old beat worn out structure, privacy issues, noise issues, cleaning wasn't done in four days we stayed there, had to ask for shampoos and tea bags several times, a complete chaotic management, North Pier ruined our holidays and we will never go back to this place. We spent over $1000 dollars and felt we have been robbed. They need to be ashamed of their operations and extremely poor service.
We stayed in room 201 (first floor, balcony facing water). The beds were comfy, linen lovely, spa and water pressure in the shower both impressive. We enjoyed a super lunch in the attached bistro, meals were very tasty and generously sized. Check in was super friendly and efficient. The only suggestion we have would perhaps be a sheer blind, in addition to the block out for added privacy as rooms were directly over looking bistro. We stayed one night, mid-week so noise was not a problem - would definitely return. Thx for a great stay.
