I stayed in one of the Superior Studio rooms for a long weekend and it had everything I needed. There was a full sized fridge, microwave, TV, toaster etc. I appreciated the room having a decent shower too, very responsive and quick to dish out the warm water. A bit of a rarity in my experience.

Just up the road barely 5 minutes walk there is a Coles. And slightly further down the road is a Woolworths with a Subway outside. You won't find McDonald's or Hungry Jack's here, not that I was necessarily looking. But if you're after some take out there is a fish n'chip shop, curry house and pizza place nearby too.

The beach and Cowes jetty is about a 10-15ish casual walk away. Lovely to take a leisurely early walk to the beach to take in the morning air.

I can't speak of what else Amaroo Park offers, but they do have a swimming pool, bbq facilities so that might interest you. And though I had minimal contact with the staff they were very nice.

I'd recommend staying here, it was quiet, close to the main shops in Cowes and reasonable distance to the local attractions.

We stayed at Amaroo for 3 nights in a tent. The site we chose was shady and relatively private, close to all amenities. The camp kitchen and amenities were very clean, plenty of hot water for showers and laundry had all that was needed, including lines with pegs provided. Very easy walk into town and the jetty and a great little cafe attached. Sites are a little on the small side but overall a great little park. Would highly recommend.

I took my 3 grandchildren ( 19, 8 and 6) for a 3 night stay . I’m from the U.K. so wasn’t sure what to expect . It’s a very compact site with good amenities such as laundry etc . The automatic check in was a bit confusing and we needed help . We got the last chalet available , which was an older model with two bedrooms but was well equipped and very clean . The outdoor pool gets very busy , as you would expect but had a large canopy over 1/2 the pool which was essential on hot sunny days . The park is about 5-10 minutes from the beach & very close to supermarkets and shops . The outdoor veranda was a welcome addition and gave us more usable space

We stayed 3 nights mid December before the rush of after Christmas holidaymakers.
I had hoped we would enjoy our stay but unfortunately it was not to be.
Pros:
Close proximity to Supermarkets and the Main Street of Cowes.
Close proximity to local attractions

Cons:
Two clotheslines that were under an awning which were not strung well for hanging any amount of wet clothing. No out in the open clotheslines
Management were using the guest washing machines which meant I had to wait until their cycle was finished before I could wash my clothes. I have stayed at enough places to know this isn’t the norm. I watched staff put a dirty mop head in the washing machine that guests are going to use.
The toilets were not thoroughly cleaned. My husband saw s#$t on the wall of a cubical on our first day that was there 3 days later when we left.
Dead lawn clippings everywhere. Again I’ve stayed at enough places to know this isn’t the norm and that more care could have been taken with maintenance.

I feel like with some love and attention to detail this place could be a great place to stay. But until then I wouldn’t want to head back

Checking in was seamless using a machine outside the office, and so was checking out. The cabin was spotless and it has all the amenities we need. My eldest LOVED the bunk bed!
Hosts were easy to contact before our stay and prompt in their replies.
It's at a great location as it's very close to town.
Would much prefer it if there was heating in the bedrooms, though. There is heating in the lounge area, but if you shut the bedroom doors, it can get quite chilly in the winter nights.
I'd definitely consider this place the next time we visit Cowes!

The absolute worst caravan park in Australia, run by incompetent staff, in particular "Tom" or "Tang". Called and booked in two nights accomodation on Sunday January 26th for the following weekend, January 31st and February 2nd. Gave credit card details over the phone, received confirmation via email. Drove 2.5 hours from Melbourne only to be told there is no room! Apparently it was a "pre-invoice" (not sure what that is) and that we didn't confirm, despite email saying: Dear Daniel Thank you for your booking. Please see attached invoice for your reference. We look forward to see you soon!Kind regards,Amaroo Holiday Park. I replied to the email to confirm the price including pet cleaning fee, but received no response.

Absolute disgrace. Avoid this park at all costs

We needed an extra bed due to an extra person coming for the trip, and it was supplied with no fuss with just a small extra fee. It was installed for us and our host couldn't have been more helpful. Towels and toiletries supplied as well. It is ideally placed, close to the shops and restaurants, and a short walk to the shuttle bus which took us to the races. Super.

Great family get away venue.
We booked the Homestead for the long weekend and couldn’t have asked for a better venue for a winter weekend away with extended family. 5 generous bedrooms, ample bathrooms and a large kitchen/dining/family area which promoted a range of family activities with its wall of games, books, jigsaws, and craft resources.
The delightful hosts accommodated extra family in a neighbouring deluxe cabin (of which there are plenty).
Cowes main Street with shops, supermarket and endless eatery options is 100m away.
The beach (beautiful for walking in winter!) is a further 250m.
BBQs and common games room are adjacent to the Homestead.
We couldn’t have asked for more!

My friends and I left it late to make our accommodation plans for Phillip Island post Christmas. Thankfully Amaroo Park had a perfectly good solution for us - 2 rooms in a 5 bedroom villa. Amaroo Park is very centrally located in Cowes which was a dream, especially as we had dedicated parking available for us on site. The homestead is very well maintained and clean and all occupants were very respectful of each other (other than one late & slightly noisy arrival). There was plenty of room to stow food and cooking would have been a cinch if we'd chosen to. We didn't make the most of the overall facilities i.e. pool, games room etc, but weren't really there to spend time at the park. Our only disappointment was the lack of queen beds meaning couples ended up in single beds. We'll get booked earlier next time!

Our accomodation was clean and comfortable. Comfy bed and nice little verandah to sit on in the mornings with a cuppa. The owner of the park is very friendly and has great local advice on where to eat and what to see.
Would definitely stay here again if we returned!

Hi Rach suggest you contact park management directly. Those dates are usually pretty heavily booked everywhere though. Doesn't hurt to try. Great park and amenities. Staff are excellent.

Hi, can I check in at night?
Answer from Lisa M
Cowes, Australia6 contributions13 helpful votes
Hello, you can check in at night, in villas and studios with a pre booking, that is paid for. Amaroo Park closes at 7.00pm, but if you have an existing booking, keys, directions, map, wifi pass word and relevant details will be left for you, for when you arrive. Just let Amaroo know you will be arriving late. However, you cant arrive after 7.00pm without a booking.
