Stayed at the baronga motor inn for a night and found it spacious , very comfortable bed good size tv with some fox channels. The bathroom was good with everything one expects in a bathroom/ The motel is on the highway, close to several pubs and restaurants, but as most rooms are well back from the road, noise is not an issue. Perfect motel to explore the area from. Resraurant is closed at the moment but continental breakfast served.

We were pleasantly surprised by the Baronga motel on our trip through country Victoria. The beds were the most comfortable we had on the trip.
The room was fresh and very clean. The heating was excellent and quiet.
We did not hear any traffic which was surprising given the motel is on the Princes Highway.
We really liked the long bench to put our belongings on. Also the way the cups were placed inside a plastic dome was a nice touch.

A comfortable stay in a very good location, close to the city centre, Lake Colac and the Botanic Gardens. Very clean, spacious and recently renovated bathrooms. The bed was very comfortable and there was ample room to stretch out and relax. For a fairly dated Motor Inn this is all that I required and it was very relaxing and very comfortable.

We arrived on a Friday night and the motel was old but pretty quiet until about 9pm when a dozen or more SES trucks pulled in for the night. Our room was surrounded by people partying all night. They were smoking straight outside our door and the fumes were coming in under the door. The noise was so loud we couldn't hear the television, they didn't stop until well after 2am. The following morning we complained to reception as we had specifically asked to be in a quiet room. The woman was so rude she said that if she had of moved us to another room we would have complained about traffic noise. There was no apology, no customer service, she couldn't care less - we were the problem!!! Never again will we stay here or recommend it to other people.

From the outside, it could be any average motel, in any average country town. On the inside, nice new spacious bathroom (just like the photos online) new carpet, comfy bed and pillows. Clean, good heating / cooling. Good wifi and some Fox channels. Out the back, away from the main road, the room was not too noisy.
Restaurant looks fairly average for one attached to a motel. Meals are well above that. Locals say they only hear good things.
Owners are really friendly and always seem to be chatting with someone.
A pretty good place to stay.

Stayed here over the weekend found it very noisy as SES group stayed here. They were smoking outside our room and stunk of cigarettes. Noisy traffic outside main road. Definitely won't stay here again. Hopeless here if you want a peaceful stay.

We dine at the Baronga on a regular basis and it is the best meal in Colac. From their steaks to the chicken kevingtons there is something for everyone. Have the chocolate brownie for dessert, it’s to die for. Colacians do yourself a favour and book in.

The rooms were great, the food was great, the weather was wonderful, even though they had little to do with that.
The best part was there was a chicken bar down the street where you could go and screw chickens. I had a great time there. Best chicken tang in my experience.

Stayed two nights in a spa room..noticed the spa was old and quite stained in most parts..not impressed..large room and very close to town centre and all restaurants..will revisit colac in the future BUT will book alternative accommodation...

The Baronga Motor Inn's decor may be a little dark but it is still among the more acceptable class of Australian motel.
The male proprietor deserves top marks for being a friendly chap.
Although there were some tradesmen staying overnight I was not disturbed in the slightest by any noise: I slept soundly.
Checking in and out was a breeze.
I received the impression that the owners cared about this place and that they trusted their guests. I hope most guests reciprocate this level of trust which makes for a pleasant relationship between proprietor and business people or tourists.
