Myself and a friend stayed here during winter... Definitely not the ideal place for two young girls might I add. Rooms were icy cold, 1 THIN blanket and 1 sheet where provided, we had to sleep fully clothed. We were provided with a small heater which hardly worked! The motel itself is located above a restaurant an the entry an exit is just creepy.. We were woken up to a very loud screeching of one of the neighboring rooms showers bright an early!! The room was only $70 but the least we could have expected was a TV remote or extra pillow or blanket....
Overall not a great experience. BUT we got the best room in the place (number 5) which had an ocean view, but that still didn't make up for the rest of our stay.

The price skyrockets and the downsides remain. Ply wardrobe and chenille bedspread, in a '50s cheap Australian country vernacular is an $80 value but cost $160 in high season (January). Bit of a shock on arrival. The room was hot, spartan, but clean, with an acceptable bathroom. It had no air-conditioning (had ceiling fan) and the window had to remain shut with blinds down due to the very loud thumping music and flashing lights from the fun fair across the street.

Was looking for a nice couple of nights away. didnt want to spend too much as i would spend the days out driving.
when my sister and i (2 girls 24 and under) arrived i couldnt find the check in. it was located in the restuarant. friendly staff, but the whole hote and restuarant looked really bad.
I was very very tempted to lose my $130 a night and go up the road to a better hotel.
we walk in to find a bed in a shoe box! Very very small, tv didnt work. the room is very old but clean. The thin zebra pattern was disgusting and we slept in just out clothes.
i didnt feel safe, the whole floor moves when someone walks in the hall way and you can hear absolutely everything!
I will never stay here again!!

Apollo Bay is a nice town, we always enjoyed our holiday here, but never stayed with Iluka. we were back to Apollo bay after lock down last Sat, and quite enjoyed our stay. the room was clean, and the bed very comfortable. I loved their pillows. very convenient location, close to everything. love to come back again.

Very good location and easy to get to places, staff was very friendly and the room had everything that you need for a night stay. Would definitely recommend if you are staying in Apollo Bay for a night so two. Thank you every much!

Struggled to find the entrance, had to get help, reception was in the restaurant . the room overlooked the car park. Spent two minutes in the room, then left and found another motel. Looked nothing like the photos on the web site.

enjoyed my stay, friendly reception staff and support as well as room attendants . A great ocean rd view from the window and just a 2 min walk to the beach.Good value for money for my last minutes from booking.com.

Good location on Great ocean rd with wonderful sandwiches, chicken Taco and nice coffee. The best Taco I have in Australia. Not very busy in the weekday. The staffs was super friendly. The surrounding is comfortable and relaxing

This place was smelt of toilets from the moment we arrived, it permeated your clothes, horrible! The air conditioner didn't work, there was a paper clip to operate the venitian blind, the floodlight outside the room stayed on all night - may as well has been day time as the blind didn't block the light at all.

We would like this post removed. As stated in our booking system on Wotif We actually have 2 AIR Cons in 2 rooms but in all our advertisement about facility we clearly state we are NON AC and so we should not be vindicated for not providing a service and we clearly state is not included. Both machines have been repaired and also the venetian blinds have all been replaced by roman blinds. This post is outdated and this is a request to remove it entirely. I have taken photos. What is the process??Thanks, Evonne

We stayed at many hotels on our 3 weeks trip in AU. One of them was ILUKA in Apollo Bay. Don’t have anything positive to say. We pree payed and when we got there they wanted 200 dollars more than agreed. Then they wanted to pree charge for damage on the room before they gave us the key. It was not possible to find another hotel. We had booked two days. We are a married Swedish couple and 60+ years, damage??? The proprietors daughter unpleasant, maybe because the money discussion. The room was dirty. During the two days nobody did the bed or cleaned the room, we had to empty the wastebasket ourself, twice. Water boiler in the room but no coffee powder. Had to ask for it every time. No glasses in the room. The room was above the restaurant with a lot of smell like the oil you deep-fry in. Noisy. When we left we wanted them to check the room for damage so we could get our money back. Nobody wanted to do it and it took three weeks before the money where back in our bank account. If you have a choice find another hotel over the coming holidays.
