We stopped in apollo bay to visit family and had our dog with us, before moving interstate.
I had a tent I borrowed, the camp site is beautiful right next to the water, but can get quite chilli.
I suggest blankets and a camp mattress not just a tent, so the first night was not at all how we wanted to start our trip.
Hot fish and chips from the waterfront saved the night sat in our cold tent listening to the water laughing at how stupid we were and how bad camping is.
Second night we got a cabin, and oh my wow it was pristine and just a gorgeous little home away from home after a big day of catch ups, felt so very nice to come home and be cosy watch some telly in there fab cabin.
It is a tourist destination because of how beautiful it is, so if u can not afford the cabins still stay here but bring your comfy with you.

We had a campsite right on the river. The outlook was really nice and peaceful. It’s a little bit of a walk into town so make sure you unclip your trailer. The place is pretty simple so maybe not for everyone.
Make sure also that you pack the bug spray. wow. Lots of bities.
Great place to stop.

What a great place, family budget and lady at reception was great. Told us straight how it is and might be rude but honestly i like it. Telling us how the cabins are. We stayed 2 night and cabins way better then i stay in warranmabol. The was great had tennis courts oval across from beach. All areas covered from bbq toilets laundry. cabins owners could use a paint but Its not your 5 star big4 but happy to stay there again.

The worst caravan park we have ever stayed in. Bathroom facilities are disgusting, and when I spoke to the cleaner she said there isn’t much we can do as they are old. There were cobwebs and dust everywhere. Toilet paper on the floor and it wasn’t cleaned once in the 24 hours we were there. Booked and paid for 2 nights but left after 1. No refund offered.
Lady on reception wasn’t really interested in my feedback and explained that she has been asking the cleaner to pick up their act. Clearly nothing had changed.
The garbage bins were overflowing and also not emptied in the time we were there.
We decided to do our laundry at the local laundromat as those facilities at the caravan park were gross too.
Do not stay at this park unless you have a caravan with all your own facilities and don’t care about poor customer service.

The park is very quiet and in a beautiful spot, with the river running thru and beach across the road. There were plenty of very well behaved dogs, and it had a really nice vibe to it. The service was impeccable will definitely be back. We had someone in our spot when we arrived( their fault not parks) but I called after hour number and a dude came within 10 min and sorted us in a different spot. He was super nice, we really appreciated the quick responds

Stayed here 4 nights and what a find. Maree on reception was lovely at check in and we got a great spot right on the river. Sites are large, grassy and with views across to farmland- really relaxing.
Our site was right near the toilet block and they were always clean and quiet. Easy walk into town and beach over the road. Would def stay again.

Lovely campsite nestled on the river, woke to the sounds of kookaburras and spotted a koala. Quiet spot despite being a short walk from the restaurants/pubs in Apollo Bay. Clean facilities and good location for tourist spots on Great Ocean Road. Highly recommend!

Although this place isnt five star, what makes it absolutely stunning is the little river and farm running alongside it. We stayed here just for a night so had everything we needed for such a short stay. Apollo Bay is one of the most beautiful places in Australia that i have seen and visited, will stay here longer next time.

We had an unpowered site , and got a nice grassy site along the river. The amenities block was okay, clean but the shower was pretty average. Check in was easy and reception was nice and friendly. Was a nice quite place to stay, would be a bit of a hike into town though.

We stayed in a cabin here with the family. For people wanting to do it on a budget it is well worth it.
It’s a clean park with good amenities. Has a BBQ area. Located on a reserve which is very peaceful.
The family enjoyed it. We will be back again next year.

Valerie E asked a question Sept 2015
Adelaide, South Australia, Australia10 contributions4 helpful votesWould we be likely to get in on travel auction in Feb/March, excluding public holidays, and on a powered site? Are powered sites far from toilet blocks, as we are older people? Thanks, Val
Yes we do; it is run by a third party company and the rates are similar to other hotspots. Apollo Bay Foreshore has free Wi-Fi for 1/2 hour for visitors to town.
"I stayed in one of the onsite vans which was awesome, but there are powered and nonpowered sites as well."Read full review
