We stayed here as our preferred Motels in Apollo Bay required a two night minimum during school holidays which didn't work for us. On arrival I was shocked by the bright yellow exterior paintwork and small parking area. Things got worse when the reception area was empty and when the Reception person came he spoke no English, just Chinese. He used a phone translator when things got tricky. However the rooms have been recently refurbished with very modern and clean bathrooms. There was a funny smell throughout which I think was from the cleaning products. Our room (Double $200) faced a plot of weeds so not at all attractive, but our Friends had a Twin room ($150) facing the beach. Walking distance to all the cafes and restaurants in the town and directly across from beach access. Beds were comfortable and we slept well.

First impressions, I was a little concerned as the check-in clerk didn’t speak a word of English and had to communicate solely through an interpreter app, however the process was fairly smooth and quick as it was booked in advance. If you have any specific issue, it could see the language barrier being a problem. That said, we hired 3 rooms for a family trip; the rooms were quite basic but spacious, light filled and clean. Bathroom abs showers were fine; beds a little firm and springy for my liking. Views facing the ocean are fantastic, especially from the second floor balconies. Parking onsite is limited but plenty on street. It’s opposite a petrol station/convenience store, and just across the road from the beach. Also a short walking distance to some lovely cafes and a few shops. We’ve stayed at similar hotels at Apollo Bay and I can’t really fault this one.

Room Tip:Light sleepers bring ear plugs as noise from other rooms and outside can be disruptive at night.

Our stay was comfortable and pleasant at the Odyssey, just a short walk from an endless, beautiful wide beach with lots of entertaining surfers. However, the spacious and stylish bathroom lacked a bath mat or any extra towels to substitute nor was there a single wash cloth. Advising the front desk was not an option as the friendly agent did not seem to speak enough English for communication. This was very minor issue but an expected amenity for the price of our room.

A lovley little motel with modernised rooms that are clean, roomy and warm. Easy check in. Our winter stay was brief but very restful and enjoyable. Downstairs room per our request on the road front, was quiet and we had a lovely little view of the ocean. Great internet connection and TV services.

The location directly on the sea was wonderful. The room was bright and friendly, the bathroom surprised with hyper-modern equipment, although apparently there were not enough funds for a new door (which was old and scraped). There were only two bath towels, no hand towels, no floor mat. The low point was the balcony overlooking the sea. We could only open the door with force and the assistance of a friendly Asian woman, who unfortunately hardly spoke English. Above the balcony nested a sparrow family, which had left its droppings all over the balcony and side by side on the railing. The proud price of AUD 300 for the night was anything but reasonable. But thank God it was only one night.

Last minute booking and this motel was suitable for our 1 nite stay. The room was large and modern and It was well equipped with all we needed. It was within easy walking distance to the town Centre. The staff were helpful and easy to deal with for our stay.

Though I only started on a hotel room, it was a great experience. I could easily walked to the laundromat and bought dinner from there. The room was nice too and watched TV. We went to walk to a nearby beach and there was so much jellyfish! But it is quite thrilling.

The hardest bed I have ever slept on. It was like sleeping on milk crates. A bad smell as soon as you walk in the door. No English spoken by the owners. I would not go back again but if it wasn’t for the bed everything else would have been OK. Way too expensive for the tiny room we had.

Stayed here for 1 night . The room and furnishings were nice. Unfortunately on the ground floor and when opened the curtains we looked out onto piles of rubbish stored in their yard. Started raining and the frame around the windows leaked so carpet became wet and the constant dripping of water kept us awake all night.
