Beachend is a self-catering holiday accommodation place with a choice of 3 different rooms. There's a fully equipped kitchen in the 3 bedroom apartment suitable for 5 people and a simple kitchen in the 1 bedroom apartment ideal for up to 4 people. The third smaller elegant room is like a hotel unit with no cooking facilities. Beachend is an older style timber house but very clean, with practical furnishings and a fantastic view. The beach is a 300 metres walk. You can see penguins at the beach in the evening and hear them near the buildings. Children under 3 are free. Free high-speed wireless internet, free parking and a grassy children's play area. Only 5minute'ss drive to Bicheno.

The property is located just off the Tasman Highway and has wonderful ocean views.
The pictures online do not do justice to this place. It really is in a great setting with views from the veranda and the large picture window inside.
While our apartment was the smallest of the three it was still comfortable and roomy enough for two.
The interior has been renovated to a high standard and the paintwork throughout is fresh and unblemished.
The unit was spotlessly clean and fresh.
The beach is a five minute walk away but the best thing comes at night when the penguins come ashore and walk up the beach to their burrows.
A small group of them live under the house and are very vocal when they return each night.
It is quite amazing how noisy such small little creatures can be.
We will be back and stay longer next time.

We were 4 couples coming from Victoria primarily for the Devil Of A Swim event. We booked the 3 units for 4 couples for 4 nights. We had a wonderful time. The location and the views are to die for.Every morning we would wake to a wonderful sunrise over the paddocks, Diamond Island and the ocean. We swam (coming from Victoria used to cold waters),walked to The Gulch and swam in Waubs Bay among other activities. A good 1 1/2 k walk or a 5 minutes drive from Bicheno township. Freycinet and Wineglass Bay walks a must as is having a drink and lunch at Devil's Corner and many other fine wineries in close proximity.Great cafes and coffees in town and don't miss The Farm Shed for all things local including wines. A great place to stay and explore all the east coast of Tasmania has to offer. Shane was incredibly helpful. The swims through the kelp gutters unforgettable. We will be back again for next years Devil Swim-if not sooner.

I loved this place. You get the best of both worlds - country and seaside views. From the moment we arrived at this gorgeous beach shack overlooking a paddock of sheep with it’s uninterrupted views of Diamond Island to the private track that led us to the beach to enjoy a walk on low tide to the island. It’s just homely and picturesque.

The amount of time that I wasted/enjoyed taking in the view - end of day and start of day. A perfect spot to enjoy a wine or a cuppa on the deck.
Uninterrupted view of ocean, penguins at night and peaceful quiet.
Lovely and clean and comfy beds.

Thankyou so much for our lovely stay. Unfortunately it was only 1 night. Would have loved to have stayed longer. The magpie unit 3 was all we needed. It is spotlessly clean, has a washing machine/dryer which was great for us and plenty of tea and coffee and all cooking facilities that you need. The view is amazing. The sheep were just a bonus. A short 5 minute walk to the beach which we had to ourselves. Will definitely be back.

Booked 2 nights towards the end of our 12 day trip around Tassie.First impressions not good, grass overgrown, exterior pretty basic. Quite nice and comfortable inside though. No milk or coffee provided and only a few tea bags.Lovely view over sheep paddock to Diamond Island. Easy walk to the beach and the island( where the penquins nest) past a derelict building which is a bit spooky at night. Be warned, there is zero sound proofing between the 2 units, which did spoil our stay somewhat. No on site manager. Very clean but had not been occupied for a while and the large Huntsman spider in the towels gave us a start!

While you sit on the balcony it's hard to know what to look at first, the farmers sheep wondering who you are, the array of bird life or the views of the beautiful ocean. We chose to look at all three, while taking advantage of the Aussie gas BBQ. Steaks and a shiraz with scenery.
While the inside is a bit of a mismatch of furniture, it does feel like you have borrowed a mates place. Make sure you take the time to go searching for penguins when it gets dark, as this place is the perfect place to do it. Follow the instructions left by your host and don't be like the others we saw stomping up and down the beach making noise and leaving empty handed. Be quiet and respectful and you can literally trip over the wildlife, we nearly did! This is a great place to stay when visiting Freycinet national park or Coles Bay.

Beachend is not easy to find. A simple sign on the highway is only visible if you are travelling north. However, this is a special place, not just because of the owner.
The 1 bedroom unit is huge and would make a cosy holiday home. The lounge, dining space and kitchen area are open plan and give you heaps of space to spread out. There is a washing machine and dryer as well as a drying line out the back. The bedroom is at the back of the unit on the road side but there is no road noise. The kitchen is more than able to make your stay self catering and there is a bbq on the balcony. There are great views of the beach and the island from the balcony. A supermarket and specialty shops in town will allow you to spend more time enjoying the view after you've investigated the town.
Little blue penguins are a feature of Bicheno and they live under the unit. You will hear them but this is a close encounter with wildlife.
You can walk to the beach past the old YHA hostel and this is to be recommended. We visited on October and the water was freezing. You could swim here but bring a drysuit. Be careful when and where you walk, little blue penguins move around at daybreak and dusk.
You are asked to take care of the unit and keep it clean. This request deserves to be respected.

Stayed in this well-equipped and excellent heating system 3-bedrooms apartment for one night. Apartment is big enough for my kids to run around. The sight in the morning is breathtaking. We enjoyed our breakfast at the balcony while watching sunrise over ocean around 7.45am. What a relaxing and peaceful stay.

The owner of this apartment is really nice, before we arrived tasmania, they send us every details of the apartment, e.g, how to go to the beach, and how to access the apartment. And there are baby cot for us to use as well, really throughtful. The bed is comfortable as well. Just find that there is a double bed room window broken, need to repaire.

Another merit for the apartment is it provides us free wifi and it's quite fast. The only thing that can improve is suggesting to install a dish washer machine :) athough in the kitchen, the owner said if we are in rush, can leave the dishes for them, but of course, even we are inn rush, we do clean our dishes before we leave the apartment :)

Overall, when compare with other apartments in bicheno, it is a good choice of staying in Beachend Bicheno, will stay here again in the future.
