We stayed for two nights in the 'sunset' suite. Simply marvelous. Very comfortable king bed, a great bathroom/shower and a large sitting area and kitchen in between both suites ('sunrise' was not occupied during our stay). Doria ws a superb host, and provided a wonderful gourmet breakfast each morning, with lots of variety. Great attention to detail in every respect. Magnificent views over Bicheno. This b&b is one of the best we ever had the pleasure of experiencing!

From initial enquiry and subsequent booking, through to our warm welcome upon arrival, and our fond farewell, Doria's hosting and property certainly ticked all the boxes for our 4 day visit in June. Spacious, comfortable and clean accommodation, with stunning views from bedrooms and lounge and oh so quiet location, bliss. Artwork reflecting the local area, attention to detail commendable and we must not omit mentioning the truly delicious, generous and decadent breakfasts cooked to perfection. Doria obviously enjoys her role as mine host and in house chef and is both knowledgable and helpful in regards to activities that suit her guests. Choosing to stay in a bed and breakfast is so rewarding when the host balances personal attention to guests, and awareness of privacy perfectly; Doria manages this consumately.

What Jeannie and I enjoyed most about Windows on Bicheno:
- Very comfortable living room and dining area, great king-sized bed, air conditioning, clean and fresh, lots of windows, attractive blinds, big deck with picnic table and four chairs. Plenty of storage. Quiet neighborhood overlooking the ocean, near shopping, easy walking.

Recently we had a 2 x night stay at Windows on Bicheno. The accommodation was amazing, it was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed. We stayed in the Sunrise king room which has a private balcony to take in the amazing sea views. The bathroom was huge with a large walk in shower and spa bath. The shared kitchen and living area, again was immaculate. Doria, our host, served the most beautiful food each morning for breakfast, taking into account any dietary requirements. We were instructed to leave our dishes and all was put back in order before returning to our room to enjoy a glass of wine and take in the fantastic view. Doria was an attentive, but not intrusive host. We would highly recommend a stay at Windows on Bicheno for the quiet location, wonderful views and superb accommodation.

We wanted two nights in the Bicheno/Coles Bay/Swansea area and reviewed pretty much every accommodation option on Tripadvisor and direct websites. Obviously, Saffire Freycinet is the standout but the tariff was prohibitive, particularly when we wanted two bedrooms. However, the other option we kept coming back to was Windows on Bicheno so we booked it.
The accommodation is the top floor of a three level house (lots of stairs) and comprises two large ensuited king bedrooms which share a living/dining/kitchenette area. The bedrooms are mirror images of each other and have plenty of closet space, two armchairs and an occasional table, a desk and TV. The bathrooms are huge and have a walk-in shower and separate spa bath. If looking at a photo of the house from the street, the Sunrise bedroom is on the left and the Sunset bedroom is on the right. The room in the middle is the shared space and the tower thingy is the stairwell. All three rooms have balconies overlooking the bay. The place is immaculate and the fairies come in to tidy up while you're out. You're not allowed to clean up the breakfast stuff and don't even think about touching the dishwasher !
On the subject of breakfast, it's included in the tariff and is quite large. We're lunch people and a big breakfast is something we rarely have but, if you're staying here, you're having it ! So - we did the buttercup thing and, dutifully, ate the excellent fare which was presented to us both mornings.
We had booked the whole top floor so we had it all to ourselves. It's very private and quiet and we both slept very well. It would also suit two couples travelling together or a family. Not sure how it would be if you had to share the living area with strangers. It certainly wouldn't suit me but I guess you could always escape to your bedroom and its balcony.
The whole place is very luxurious but then it needs to be as it is expensive relative to comparable places we stayed at during our two weeks in Tassie. Owner, Doria, offerred us a discount of $50 per bedroom per night because we booked the whole floor and there were only two of us. That dropped the rate from $600 to $500 per night. Our luxurious 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, living/dining/kitchenette apartment right on Salamanca Place with views over the waterfront in Hobart was $365 per night (Sullivans Cove Dockside Salamanca Apartments). Our equally luxurious 2 bedroom/2 bathroom, living/dining/kitchenette apartment right on the Tamar River in Launceston was $321 per night (Peppers Seaport Resort). Both were walking distance from everything we wanted including a range of wonderful restaurants and activities. Windows on Bicheno is also walking distance from everything in Bicheno but then everything in Bicheno is walking distance from everything else in this odd little hamlet.
Relative costs aside, Windows on Bicheno is a lovely place to stay and is highly recommended.

This bed and breakfast exceeded expectations from the moment of booking- don't be turned off by the email correspondence only. Doria was a pleasure to chat with and gave me some tips about our trip.

When we arrived the place was immaculate. Doria has thought of everything including plastic wine glasses in the bath room for the spa tub. The breakfast on all three days of our stay were beautiful, locally sourced and honestly we didn't need lunch.

The toiletries were locally made by a lady and the scent was heavenly. Highly recommend staying here as a base for the East coast. We were able to do wineglass Bay and the bay of fires from here as a base.

Fabulous accommodation out over Waubs Bay and on to Dennisons Beach. Beautifully appointed suites with huge bathroom, comfortable seating in the bedroom sitting area. The King Size bed, superb bed linen and pillows make for a good nights rest. Tea and coffee making facilities provided in a common kitchen/dining area between the two suites. Ideal for couples travelling together, perfect for single couple occupancy and still O.K. if you enjoy making friends if another couple occuping the other suite. Breakfast is included and be assured that the presentation, quality and quantity will surprise you. The stairs to the second floor units will challenge you if your travel bags are big and heavy. (helps offset the calorie intake at breakfast time ?
To cap it off you have Doria, you hostess, breakfast chef supreme and font of knowledge on what to see in the region. Always prepared to assist with bookings at local restaraunts or dining places on your travel days as you tour the area. When you return to your room at the end of a day everything will be spic and span. Make sure you visit Binnalong Bay to the north, the wineries to the north and south including Coles Bay and Wineglass Bay.

Bicheno is a lovely seaside village with a beautiful coastal walk.
Doria is the perfect host and her B and B is one of the most luxurious and comfortable you will ever stay in. Amenities at Windows are of a high standard and Doria's breakfasts were delicious. Doria has very helpful local knowledge and advice. Local seafood is caught daily and Bicheno is famous for its oysters. Plenty of reasons to stay with Doria at Windows!!

We recently spent 2 days at windows at bicheno and it was fantastic. The host doria was charming and runs a very lovely b & b with personal touches that were appreciated by my wife. The decor is modern and well maintained and breakfasts are delicious. Doria rotates her breakfast menu daily during your stay. Bicheno is a good base to explore the area though restaurants are somewhat limited following the closure of the well regarded French restaurant

If there is an award for #1 host in Tasmania Doria will definitely win this prize! We've travelled four weeks on Australian mainland including one week on the beautiful island of Tasmania. Our stay in Bicheno was one of the most memorable especially because of our host Doria. A warm welcome, always available or informing us where she would be if we needed her, a great breakfast each morning and even e-mailing us because she heard a storm hit the airport the moment we would take-off.

Bicheno is neatly located on Tassie's East coast close to beautiful Freycinet NP (Wineglass Bay). And Windows is on a quiet spot (i.e. not along the main road) in town with nice views of the ocean and coast.

A very large room, bathroom, balcony and shared living room and breakfast table. And Doria doesn't allow you to clean up anything by yourself :-) as "You are on holiday". Great beds and a huge TV. Being an internet junkie I missed the WiFi.

Have your lunch or supper at Pasini's (please book!). Bicheno doesn't have that much spots to eat, but Pasini's would not be out of place in Hobard or Sydney! Just a two minute walk from Doria's place.
