Cod Rock Point has two apartments and a house in one fantastic location, based on an oceanfront block in the heart of Bicheno township. The Lookout – A 2 story, 1 King bedroom luxury apartment overlooking Cod Rock and Diamond Island at every angle. Stunning views and luxuriously appointed. The Lookout includes a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine & dryer. The apartment boasts a large back yard and patio space, complete with outdoor furniture and BBQ. The Lookout has a private access track to the rocks of the oceanfront. The Nook – Single story, luxuriously appointed apartment overlooking Cod Rock and the ocean beyond. Comprising of a King bedroom with ensuite, and open plan kitchen (with everything you need to cook a meal), dining and living space. The apartment is completed with indoor/outdoor living – an exposed concrete patio with outdoor furniture and BBQ. The Nook has a private access track to the rocks of the oceanfront. The House – A 2 story house, with ocean views from the lounge and upstairs suite. Comprising of an upstairs Master Suite with King Bedroom, living area and bathroom. A private balcony off the bedroom overlooks the ocean. Downstairs, there is another bedroom (with either a King bed or two King Single beds), another bathroom with shower, study, kitchen (with everything you need to cook a meal), and living area. The house has it’s own laundry including washing machine and dryer. Penguins frequent the grounds around the apartments most of the year, and we front onto a 3km foreshore walk that goes around town to our blowhole and beaches. Both apartments have views over Waubs Bay and Diamond Island. Set in landscaped gardens with native gums that attract many bird species. All only 500m or so from local shops and restaurants and only one half hour drive from the world-renowned Freycinet National Park/Wineglass Bay. The perfect place to stop, relax and live life like a local.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed for 2 nights in the Lookout and did not want to leave. Very thoughtfully presented with a washer drier dishwasher and hot plates. Microwave was also a dual microwave/convection. Full size fridge and wifi provided. Sitting in the garden relaxing or gazing at the view from your very private bedrooms windows was a joy and way walking distance to the town centre and the beach. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We stayed for 3 nights in this beautiful Nook cottage. The cottage is very clean, spacious and well equipped. You can walk right from your private garden on the rocky beach. And on the beach you can spot the penguins entering the beach by dusk. We had possums and penguins in the private garden during our stay. We really enjoyed staying in this cottage en wished we could have stayed longer. Dishwasher and a combined washing machine and dryer are in the cottage. We also had complementary crackers with cheese in the cottage, this was well appreciated.

We can’t say enough nice things about Cod Rock. The house is so comfortable and clean! They have thought of everything (even ear plugs for when the penguins are talking with each other at night)! This would be a perfect choice for two couples, a small family or one couple. Having access to laundry was an extra bonus since we had already been traveling for a couple of weeks.

From the moment we walked into the house you feel at home. It is modern but not minimalist, lots of wood finishes but not dated. Oozes comfort and relaxation. We were quite happy to just veg out for a while. The upstairs master suite was the icing on the cake. And then there was the fairy penguins coming to say hello overnight with a nest right outside the front door. This house deserves a 5 star rating.

This place should have more than 5 stars. We stayed at The Nook for 2 nights and didn’t want to leave. Everything about it is perfect. It’s so beautifully furnished and clean. The garden leads onto the rocks and ocean. The penguins come up to the back door at night. What’s not to love. It was absolutely amazing.

This was my third stay in The Lookout at Cod Rock Point and this visit was just as relaxing and enjoyable as the other occasions. With magnificent water views and the waterfront just a short walk through the private garden which is home to passing penguins in the evening, The Lookout provided the perfect post-COVID lockdown escape! The Lookout is always immaculately presented and spotlessly clean, but David and Dinky had left complimentary hand sanitiser and a document outlining their COVID safe plan to reassure guests that additional measures are being implemented to ensure the highest of hygiene standards. Close enough to explore the stunning Freycinet National Park and local wineries for a venture further afield, we also enjoyed the local attractions of Bicheno starting the day with coffee and treats from Little Bay Patisserie and lobster rolls from The Lobster Shack for lunch – both within walking distance of Cod Rock Point. Another perfect stay at this picturesque, warm, comfortable and very clean retreat!

Searching online for accommodation in Bicheno I came across The Nook in Bicheno. What a beautiful place to stay. It is situated at the end of Murray Street in a quiet and peaceful area right on the edge of Codd Rock Point. We stayed for two nights in The Nook, which is excellent for two travellers. Refurbished in 2017 the decor is excellent with stunning views from the bedroom, dining and lounge areas. Everything looks new and the cottage was spotless. At the back of the premises, head through the garden down to Codd Rock, take your camera and enjoy the fantastic views. I highly reccommend a stay, relax and take in the serenity.
