From the moment we walked into the house you feel at home. It is modern but not minimalist, lots of wood finishes but not dated. Oozes comfort and relaxation. We were quite happy to just veg out for a while. The upstairs master suite was the icing on the cake. And then there was the fairy penguins coming to say hello overnight with a nest right outside the front door. This house deserves a 5 star rating.

This place should have more than 5 stars. We stayed at The Nook for 2 nights and didn’t want to leave. Everything about it is perfect. It’s so beautifully furnished and clean. The garden leads onto the rocks and ocean. The penguins come up to the back door at night. What’s not to love. It was absolutely amazing.

This was my third stay in The Lookout at Cod Rock Point and this visit was just as relaxing and enjoyable as the other occasions. With magnificent water views and the waterfront just a short walk through the private garden which is home to passing penguins in the evening, The Lookout provided the perfect post-COVID lockdown escape! The Lookout is always immaculately presented and spotlessly clean, but David and Dinky had left complimentary hand sanitiser and a document outlining their COVID safe plan to reassure guests that additional measures are being implemented to ensure the highest of hygiene standards. Close enough to explore the stunning Freycinet National Park and local wineries for a venture further afield, we also enjoyed the local attractions of Bicheno starting the day with coffee and treats from Little Bay Patisserie and lobster rolls from The Lobster Shack for lunch – both within walking distance of Cod Rock Point. Another perfect stay at this picturesque, warm, comfortable and very clean retreat!

Searching online for accommodation in Bicheno I came across The Nook in Bicheno. What a beautiful place to stay. It is situated at the end of Murray Street in a quiet and peaceful area right on the edge of Codd Rock Point. We stayed for two nights in The Nook, which is excellent for two travellers. Refurbished in 2017 the decor is excellent with stunning views from the bedroom, dining and lounge areas. Everything looks new and the cottage was spotless. At the back of the premises, head through the garden down to Codd Rock, take your camera and enjoy the fantastic views. I highly reccommend a stay, relax and take in the serenity.

We stayed in the ‘House’, and it was the perfect way for place for two couples. My parents were visiting from the UK and they really enjoyed the comfort of the apartment. It was a great base to explore Bicheno and Freycinet, and a short walk to the restaurants in the town centre. The view from the top bedroom was amazing and we loved hearing the fairy penguins as they returned from their sea adventures.

When I checked, the only availability for 2 nights meant moving from the House after 1 night and into the Nook. I'm so pleased we did as we had the opportunity to experience the delights of both. We operate a range of accommodation in Margaret River and are, therefore, well qualified to judge the apartments. They're exceptionally well suited to short stay accommodation and are fitted out to a very high standard. The only thing we missed was a medium sized fry pan as I like to make omelettes for breakfast and found this challenging in the ones supplied, Being a couple, the Nook probably suited better, particularly with its private garden and direct access to the waterfront. And we also enjoyed watching a few (maybe 5-6) tiny penguins waddling past our back (glass) door, Where else could you experience something like that? Our personal thanks to the housekeeper (Sharon) who went out of her way to make us feel welcome! David & Dinky are to be applauded for what they've achieved here.

My wife and I stayed two nights at the lookout apartments right on the water. Well, where do I start ? Beautiful accomodation over two levels with the bedroom and bathroom upstairs and outstanding views of the water. The owners have thought of everything including binoculars and a special torch for “penguin spotting”. The apartment is so close to the water with walking tracks down to the rocks / beach. We also spotted penguins along the tracks which was a highlight ! The apartment also has a dishwasher and washing machine / dryer. There are two wall mounted heaters, large TV and BBQ. Cod Rock Lookout Apartment is really suited to couples who enjoy luxury accommodation. This is our 2nd time we have booked the lookout and we will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Tassie
