Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Hot water was a challenge. Couldn’t work soap dispenser. No tissues. No conditioner. Place looked tired. Unit needed a make over. Difficult to mix hot and cold in shower. It needed replacement. Hand basin was crazed and also needed replacement.

We love the William Macintosh Motor lodge in Naracoorte. After several visits we can confirm that it is one of the most well managed, comprehensive and delightfully located motels in the South East of SA. Above all else is the excellent Highlander Restaurant which offers quality dining in a relaxed environment. Great after a long day's travel. The staff and management are always helpful. We were particularly appreciative of special assistance provided for us following major vehicle problems. Rooms have recently been renovated and offer comfortable and quiet facilities. The rural and garden setting well away from highway traffic ensures a quiet night. We really enjoyed the live country music in the Highlander on Saturday night. Overall, highly recommended!

We had 2 adjoining rooms, and both were very comfortable. The bathrooms are modern and clean (albeit with the worst exhaust fans on the planet!!) No facewashers were provided though, which was unexpected. The rooms were clean and the beds and chairs were comfy. The caretaker managers (Jamie and Katie) were absolutely lovely - so down to earth and easy to talk to. We all left feeling like we were walking away from friends! My mum was sick when we got there (dodgy sandwich on the road before arriving) and they were very kind and caring. The Balinese cook and his son are fabulous, and the food was excellent in every way. Make sure you try the dessert spring rolls! Absolutely delicious <3 A great place to stop if visiting Naracoorte. I wish I could have stayed longer to sample more of the menu :-D

This is a fantastic accommodation in Naracoorte SA, we have been upgraded to a comfortable room without extra charges and the staff are very friendly and accomodating, so we have decided to stay extra nights with the same price! Highly recommended if you are in the vicinity of Naracoorte SA.

Warm welcome, clean and very comfortable room equipped with microwave, kettle toaster and all you require in the way of self catering amenities. Smartly updated bathroom -with walk in shower. Restaurant had a wide range of choices ( we really enjoyed the chef’s nasi goreng and chicken skewers thank you ) and an excellent, well priced wine list.

Staff were friendly, but the room was very dated with powercords and extensions everywhere. Accommodation pricey for the room. Breakfast was nice and reasonably priced. Check which rooms you book to avoid disappointment.

A pleasant surprise to find this motel provided all we needed for one night stay. The bed & pillows were excellent as was the hot shower. The staff were genuinely friendly, would not hesitate to stay again.

We stayed here for one night whilst on a road trip. We had a spa room which was spacious, quiet and peaceful. It also had a small patio area. Very good after a long day driving. The main room was airy and felt homely and comfortable. Unfortunately the bathroom was a bit of a letdown. It was large but the units were cheap and in serious need of replacement. Even the spa bath had cracks in the top and was only partially working. This was a shame because with a bit of investment it could be made very nice. All the staff were welcoming and friendly both on arrival and in the restaurant. Having a decent on-site restaurant is a big plus and the food and service were good. The chef is Indonesian so there were some interesting Asian dishes mixed into the usual steaks and standard fare. I had the Nasi Goreng and it was excellent. I would definitely stay again if I was back that way.

Last night I ate at the Lodge and partook of the best food I have had for the last three years. I had my own catering business years ago. One of the things I focus on is way chefs good their vegetables - fantastic. I had Lamb shank meal with Panecotta. A ten out of ten. Plus Mario good host.

Friendly atmosphere. Staff are always engaging with their guests. Makes you feel comfortable. Rooms & Toilet were reasonably clean. Linens, room & toilet fittings needs replacement as they are dated. Meals & drinks at restaurant was good.. Will stay again on our next trip.
