Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Some of the dishes was really awesome. However the server Rose mess up our evening. We ordered a bottle of red wine but she served 1 glass instead. When i told her i wanted a bottle, she was unapologetic and was upset with us. She gave me the bottle of wine that she opened to serve us the glass of red and insist that the botttle is newly opened and ask us to accept the bottle. She is not apologetic at all and have a long face when we were unhappy about it. Still we accepted the bottle of wine since we did not want to spoil the evening. Finally when the bill came, they charge us for chilli flakes 3 times when only 1 serving came. And when we ask for chilli flakes they did not inform us there were extra charges for it as well. Again it was late and i didnt want to make a big scene hence i paid and left. I highly recommend everyone not to visit this premise as they overcharge items and attitude is not good. When i came home to review the bill once again, my husband who ordered the red wine inform me the bottle of wine was only 35 and not the 60 that they charged. It was a house pour and not a vintage one that they claim and serve. Highly recommend everyone to check their bill carefully before payment. We will never visit this place ever again. I highly recommend everyone to do the same

Response from The Avenue Accounts, Owner at The Avenue Inn
Responded 3 weeks ago
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We extend our heartfelt apologies that your experience fell short of our usual standards. I want to assure you that your server did not intentionally convey any negativity; perhaps her demeanor appeared reserved due to it being only her second shift. We regret not being aware of your feelings during the evening when we inquired about your meal and offered further assistance. Regarding the chili flakes, they were already incorporated into your dishes. The additional chili flakes were provided as a complimentary option for those who desired an extra kick. We value your input, and your review will contribute to our ongoing training efforts. It reinforces the importance of confirming orders with our guests on multiple occasions. We sincerely hope you’ll consider giving us another chance if you find yourself in the region again. Your satisfaction remains our priority. Regarding the wine, if you come back in, we will happy refund the difference.

We stayed at The Avenue Inn for one night with our family of four ( 2 adult son’ of 21 and 24 year old) The apartment is very clean, modern but also very cozy. The small garden was nice, gives you a chance to enjoy the sunshine. We had a wonderful stay. The best value for money! Only thing we missed was an oven dish, but we bought one and left in behind so for one house that problem is solved. If you are looking for a good place to stay in Naracoorte I can highly recommend The Avenue Inn.

I have a decade of hospitality experience (mostly Stamford), and The Avenue Inn is an emphatic 5 stars. So fresh and clean and comfy, my friend and I decided to stay for a second night. As well as all the usual amenities, the restaurant is a gem: big serves of arancini and risotto reminded me of rustic Italy. Washed it down with a local Sauv Blanc so refreshing that we went to the winery and bought a case. Note to young families: some of the apartments have a handy outside space enclosed with child-safe gates.

A very well-presented motel - very comfortable and clean. Staff were polite and helpful. We ate at their Dining Room; food was plentiful and delicious. Only negative was the bathroom. Very small and nowhere to put one's toiletries etc. Other then that, a most enjoyable stay.

Stayed a couple of nights while we explored caves and area. It’s a bit out of the centre but nice and quiet and location didn’t make any difference to our stay. Room was very clean and the on-site restaurants bonus (food good). Would recommend as great place to stay if visiting the caves and would stay again if in area.

What a great little motel! The owners are very friendly people. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was delicious. I recommend eating here. The shower is great and the whole place was so clean and well presented. I would stay here again any time I am in Naracoorte.

Very clean and new and quiet. This is the premier place to stay in Naracoorte. Checking was a breeze as was checking out. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. The rooms look like they have recently been renovated.

Stayed here for two nights in a King Premium Room. Very quiet location in a side street away from the town centre. Modern, clean and comfortable room. Friendly and helpful staff. Great onsite restaurant. Had room service dinner both nights. Reasonable prices for both accommodation and meals. Would stay here again.
