Detailed Reviews
My partner and I stayed in Cabin 5 after being evacuated from the Flinders Chase due to the bushfires in the national park.
The manager, Georgia, is lovely and very responsive over the phone, and was able to find us a cabin last minute given we had to forfeit other accomodation we had booked. She has been such a help to us and we are so grateful.
The cabin was clean, well equipped and in a great location amongst the bush.
The electric hot plate and microwave enabled us to cook a decent dinner and there was an aircon unit and fan to keep the place cool.
We have stayed in many cabins around Australia so we love this type of accomodation. Highly recommend for anyone who likes bush accomodation!

+1
Very nice location. We didn’t see any kangaroos near or around our cabin but we saw a lot of them on the island. Checking in and out was very easy. Bed was comfortable, extra blanket provided. The only issue was that every night the power would trip out as soon as we put the kettle on. We found that we had to do everything one at a time. We made toast and then put the kettle on because if we did both at the same time the power would trip off. That got quite annoying, having to work around the issue of power outages but other than that all was good.

Affordable cabin in a very quiet spot just outside of main town. Wi-fi worked well. Easy check in. Very quite at night. Would definitely stay again. Could get a little muddy for parking in rainy weather.

The ferry to the island was cancelled two days running so we were unable to visit. We had booked and paid for 3 nights and the cabins took all our money. They said we had given them less than 24 hours notice so were not entitled to any refund. What if we had booked for a week? Would they think it's reasonable to take a week's rental? I could understand forfeiting one night's rental.
We have contacted them and the agent we booked through with no result.
My advice? make two bookings: the first for one night only and the second for the remainder of your stay so that you only forfeit one night's rent if the ferry is cancelled at short notice.

We stayed at the KI cabins for 3 nights with the combination deal from the sealink ferry. The cabin worked out to be an extremely affordable $80 a night. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay on KI, all of our time was spent exploring the island, taking in its natural beauty and relaxed lifestyle. These cabins may not be glamorous, but it was very comfortable if your after a good nights sleep and privacy. The shower may be small, as the TV also. This however was not essential to our stay. The Kitchen was well equipped. The bed very comfortable. The cabin was very clean. All in all a very happy, affordable stay. Britt and Sandy

It was ok. The toilet started smelling though even with the vents switched on. We were at the end of a row of cabins. We were perhaps near the septic. So let the owners know you do not want Cabin 10!!! If you are worried about damaging a rental car - this place is on unsealed roads. Beware!

stayed here recently.Could only stay one night so was hit with a $25 tariff bringing it to $145 to stay in this TINY cabin. We had a very hot uncomfortable night as we had no A/C and had to settle for a fan. What was worst was when we drove away the next morning we realised the other cabins nearby were A/C and we had been put in one without[penguin].Also there was only one other cabin with guests in from what i could see...rip off

Location and settings are great, such a shame that the cleanliness standard is so low. The floor was completely dirty when we checked in, and do yourself a favour - don’t look under the bed. Really a shame as the location is wonderful

Cabin No 7 was orginally booked for 2 nights through a Website but I called the owners of Kangaroo Island Cabin directly expecting they would match the Website rate only to find out when leaving that had not match the Wedsite rate but had incresed the nightly rate by $15 .
Cabin no 7 was rundown very dusty & the Air Conditioning Unit did not work , the main bed was very short not a requarlar length any 183 cms would find it difficult to sleep .
i would suggest staying somewhere esle other than Kangaroo Island Cabins
They also had a sign saying that there is a $50 charge if the Cabin is not tiby when you depart.

After staying in many cabins, I was extremely disappointed at the cleanliness & facilities in this old cabin. Situated in a paddock, not walking distance from town, up a long, unmade road, with few trees.
The crockery was unclean & mug stuck to shelf as it was unwashed & sugary. Kitchenette was old & lucky we didn’t need to use it. Bed linen was old & tired. Curtains were thin & broken. Lounge suite was covered in greasy marks & aircon was old old noisy type. Very disappointed.
