An expensive 2 night stay but well worth it! From the time my sister and I were met at the airport on arrival to the time we were back there for departure we both had a wonderful experience. Cannot even dream up a complaint!! Customer service is exceptional. I love my food and

Beautiful location. We stayed in a two bedroom suite (#19). Shampoo and conditioner smelled better than anything I’ve ever used. The nocturnal tour was worth the $90pp and we were the only ones (4 of us) on it so it was a good we didn’t book a private tour which was an extra

It took us a good 48 hours to reach Kangaroo Island from NYC. At some point on one of the 5 flights we had to take we turned to eachother and said “ this hotel better be worth it”. It sure is worth it. The location is unique, the views and walks around the property just

Off the charts luxury . Fabulous rooms with great views. 5 star food for every meal and the most wonderful service levels. It’s expensive but worth it. Plenty of activities, a minimum stay of 3 nights is recommended.

We spend 3 amazing days at SOL earlier in February. As avid travelers we have stayed at many beautiful places. SOL ranks at the very top. From the private airport pick up, which runs around an hour, to our departure with access to a private lounge at the airport we were

Dear Chas970 Thank you for your rapturous review. Your description of arriving to the lodge and being floored by the view is priceless! We're so thrilled you had such an enjoyable stay. Just noting that the individual ratings given to rooms, value and service was only one 'star'; as your praise in general is so overwhelmingly positive, we gather this was perhaps an oversight... We hope to welcome you back to the lodge or a sister-property within the Baillie Lodges collection one day soon. Best wishes on behalf of the team Alison

Sorry, have only just seen your question so you may be on your way. We did the nocturnal tour but not the quad safari or the platypus hike (althoughI would do that hike if we went again). We found we were quite busy enough with the standard activities and a couple of walks we did. We particularly enjoyed the walk from I think it was Kelly’s Caves. We were dropped off there and walk back. Really beautiful and well worth doing if you like walking. It is a beautiful place and I am sure you will enjoy it. The trip (standard) to Remarkable Rocks etc was great so I would really recommend that. Otherwise, just enjoy and keep your eyes peeled. We saw a number of echidnas (a super spiny hedgehog type creature but a monotreme, am egg laying mammal) off the side of the boardwalk. Also a number of goannas and a koala right outside our room (you will see lots anyway). Have fun!

What can we expect the weather to be like in late March?
I am thinking it will be ideal. Like September in the US, but you might want to ask them directly.

Didn’t see snakes or lizards whilst there, she’ll be fine. Wonderful place, enjoy.

Do you need hiking shoes for the walks they offer?
Be realistic in your assessment. Gentle strol..sneakers... a hard climb in the scrub...sturdier boots or shoes.

I understand that the beds at the lodge are also available for purchase?
Cant remember but everything else was. And the prices were really close to retail.

"Room 2 is a hike but the privacy and closeness to the ocean make it special. Not a good fit for mobility challenged or unfit."
"Any room will amaze anyone."
"If you have any mobility issues, ask for a room close to the main area, as it is quite a ways to the distant rooms."
"All of the rooms are large and have unobstructed views"
