Detailed Reviews
We spent 3 nights in the caretakers cottage & it was a charming mix of modern upgrades & original features. The cottage was very clean & the amenties were comfortable. Generous breakfast provisions are provided, ie eggs bacon juice milk bread etc etc. There is lots or little to do here, depending on they type of getwaway you want. We opted for relaxing & it was a perfect tranquil peaceful space to achieve this. If you want more, their are tours & the property's history is readily available via self guided audio stations along the property. We especially loved the church atop the hill on the property. The hosts Vicky & Mark were amazingly friendly & helpful & went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. They were very generous with their time & shared loads of their family history as well as the surrounding area..honestly we could have just sat down & talked with them for hours & hours. They are perfect ambassadors for their business, which actually felt more like a home than a business. Lastly a shout out to Phoebe who provides yoga & massage services to guests, thank you for a much needed & highly appreciated massage. We loved our stay & we are going back......and taking visiting family with us, it was THAT good!

We stayed in the Stallion Box - a very comfortable and clean converted stable with room for two. Staying on the station gave a great insight into the development of Clare Valley as a farming centre with the original family still present and providing an outstanding welcome for guests. The accomodation was very comfortable with an excellent breakfast supplied, and the house gardens are beautiful and very peaceful in the evening.
The station is an excellent base for tours to the local wineries in the Clare Valley.

Stunning property and in a great location so close to wineries.
The accommodation was very clean and well furnished with everything you could want. We stayed in the Managers House which had ample room for our family. Great BBQ and well equipped kitchen, generous breakfast provisions. The fireplace was a hit (for those with kids it had a solid screen around it too) and was set up to just strike a match.
Our girls absolutely loved feeding the animals and exploring the property! It was a relaxing midweek retreat which was exactly what we needed.
Mark and Vicky were amazing hosts, going above and beyond, providing fantastic service.

We only had one night to spend at Bungaree Station, and wish we had much longer. The Lodge had everything we could need - I agree with other reviews saying it is perfect for kids.
The animal feeding was awesome, it wasn't hurried and we enjoyed it so much. We loved hearing Vicki's stories about the kangaroos and life on the farm. We loved roaming the grounds and getting to take home some apples and quinces from the orchard. The hosts were unfailingly warm and kind. Thank you Sal, thank you Vicki.

Spent a lovely afternoon enjoying this amazing piece of Australian history. Warmly welcomed, well priced and a stunning property. What a generous rural family for opening their home for us to learn an important insight into SA history

Stayed in the Stallion Box for a night and loved it. Out of the main drag and very peaceful. Breakfast materials were great and the shower was hot. Loved the roaring fire. Friendly owners who couldn't be more helpful.

The history and how well it is explained in a self guided tour is fantastic. We started with a coffee and chat in the station office. Then we wondered around the many old stone buildings, gardens, Woolshed, then finally the church. Truly well worth the visit.

I dont write reviews but this place has earned my engagement. So different to a usual holiday, so fascinating to learn the history, so privileged to experience it. From start to finish it was unfaultable and will give us so many memories - thanks to Sal and her great team behind the scenes - a holiday we will talk about many times over....wish we had stayed longer. Just do it.

A great self guided tour of the Station. Interactive aspects also. Really enjoyed the Woolshed and Church and old cemetery. Would love to see inside the main residence but understand this is still used. Great for all ages.
