We have stayed here before. The ladies on Reception are friendly and welcoming. We have booked an executive room with queen bed, and a valley view. The room looks out across a carpark to a pretty grassed area with in-ground pool and seating, and then the wooded valley beyond. The room is large and tastefully decorated, with paintings of red poppies around the walls. The main room contains a dining table and chairs, and a couple of easy chairs. The ensuite is also large and attractive. The shower has ample flow, and there is instant hot water. Unfortunately there is also sharply varying temperature, per courtesy of other guests! There is also some mould. I am old enough to prefer a cake of soap rather than the push button variety. There is a small step up to the ensuite from the kitchen which will result in painful toes. The kitchen is the weak point in the unit design, being small and cramped. I suspect it was originally designed purely for tea and coffee making, but now also has a microwave, a coffee machine and a toaster. There is a restaurant, but it was closed due to COVID during our visit. On arriving home we receive a welcome little ‘Thank you for staying’ note. In spite of the negatives, this is a bright and cheerful motel unit, and we would gladly stay here again (that is, if they would have me!).

We booked four nights in a 'Valley View Queen' room and were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful view and the lack of road noise. The room was well sized, clean and bright and even had a microwave and free & fast WiFi. The reception was friendly and helpful (thanks Maria and Janice!)
The motel is set on a large property with ample space for our car and bikes. Right outside our door were individual seats and tables with sun umbrellas. A couple of nights we had dinner there with food delivered from Panchos Pizza and Indii of Clare restaurant (very good quality and large serves!).
The motel is located close to the Riesling Trail between the center of Clare and the caravan park where we had previously booked cabins. We find the motel is quieter, less crowded and yet competitively priced - we are happy to make it our preferred stay when visiting the Clare Valley.

We stayed here for two nights during our travels and I found it great. If there was one thing I could pick it would be that the rooms are a bit tight. Our room had a spa in the bathroom (but we didn't use it) The room itself was very clean and well presented. It had some comfy chairs in the bay window and the view from our room wasn't bad either. The pool area was great as well. Nice big pool and plenty of seating and tables around it, also umbrellas if needed for shade. The BBQ area was well set up as well with good seating and shade. The Motel is set way back from the main road so there is virtually no road noise. I Would happily stay here again in the future

Reasonable value for money. Do not expect luxury. The furnishings were basic but serviceable. The section we stayed in was an older besser brick building with little architectural appeal. However, it was reasonably spacious with a large bathroom and small kitchenette. The shower was good and there were a couple of good sized mirrors. It seemed clean although on checking beneath the beds on leaving to check for belongings, it was clear that it had not been cleaned properly. The book advertises electric blankets so on the second night we searched and found them well hidden under the mattress. They worked. The very old heater also worked very well. The motel could do with updating but it has some strong features. We were pleased to have a guest laundry and for $5 you can wash and $5, dry. Very welcome on our travels.

Whenever I visit this delightful region, I stay at the Clare Valley Motel.

The long-standing hosts deliver consistent excellence in hospitality.

The location is on a hillside, a short drive from the Main Street.

Besides comfortable and spacious accommodations, there are excellent and well maintained facilities and amenities, including a guest lounge, outdoor pool area, complimentary barbecue facility, and lovely gardens.

During COVID, they have closed their restaurant, but they still offer a morning breakfast basket - well priced at $15, and facilitate delivery of food from local restaurants.

The entire establishment is a textbook example of good quality country hospitality.

Well worth your consideration!

Had a fabulous stay at this motel. Well situated on a hill above the main road into Clare and just in the edge of the town.
We had a superior room, recently renovated with lovely king size bed, two comfy chairs, table and chairs for dining and a small kitchenette with kettle, toaster, microwave, coffee maker and fridge. They have large renovated bathrooms and both this area and kitchenette have windows allowing good air flow if you don’t want to use the aircon.
Warmly greeted on arrival and offered milk for the room. Great parking and nice quiet rooms.
They have a lovely Pool area and Bbq area and llamas in a field right next to the motel for the kids to watch. Lovely views over the hills from here too.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this motel for a lovely stay.

My partner and I stayed in Clare for a wedding and had read positive reviews about the Motel so this was an easy choice. Located just off the main road, the motel is very tidy and well presented and the staff members we interacted with were lovely. The motel is located 5-10 minutes away from all the essentials and 10 minutes from Sevenhill.
The motel has a lot of positives, but the negatives can't really be helped.
The rooms are a bit sad and dated, but very well looked after, but the walls of the rooms are so thin I could hear the guest in the room next door clear his throat at one stage and I could hear the other person on the phone to him. The rooms bear the full sun in the morning so I woke up when the sun woke up as the curtains weren't very effective.
I would recommend that there should be some outdoor security lighting at night as there is no light source in the carpark or out the front of the rooms, so finding the door can be a dangerous exercise. Some block out curtains/blinds and security lighting could be an easy fix here.
All in all, this is a competitively priced, well-kept motel with great customer service.

Large clean room with small kitchen area. All clean but the bathroom let it down, somebody got carried away with the white paint I think as the tiles were painted & peeling, really think a proper refurb would make all the difference.

Nice pool area.

It’s a 30 minute walk into the town where there are some good eateries & an excellent wine bar.

Greeted warmly and efficiently on arrival. Informed that Restaurant was closed due to COVID but we were given options for takeaway meals which could be delivered to motel. Room was neat but tired, and we spotted some areas which had been missed in cleaning routine (ie glass on the bedside table had glass ring stains). There was no housekeeping during out stay (ie bed not made and complimentary tea/coffee/milk not replenished.) This was disappointing.

All the little things count - this is the best value for money in the Mid North. The rooms have far more as standard than most. Highly recommend is the breakfast package, pick up when arriving - grapes, strawberries, fruit, raisin toast, juice and cereals.
