Views are awesome with pool, great service, clean and tidy and perfect for family time in Clare valley. Spacious outdoor areas, bbq, Alpacas to get kids attention affordable rooms for all types of families and groups.
Lovely, quiet little motel. Room was quite large, clean and comfortable. It is on the main road, but it is set well off the road and is very quiet. Close to the town for breakfast and dinner. We were recommended on places to visit for meals by the owner.
The Clare Valley Motel is something of a local icon - indeed it has been featured in the books of noted author Monica McInerney. Recently, the motel came under new management - always a challenge when you’re dealing with guests who have expectations based on past experiences, and compounded by the impact of the COVID pandemic. Based on my observation, the new operators are refocusing the business on business, government and commercial travellers. That strategy is probably a good one for the long term viability of the business. However,
What a lovely family own this place, so friendly and helpful. We had a wedding so we only stayed the night. We went to a hotel on the Main Street for a drink before the wedding and we were going to catch a taxi but they dropped us in there instead. The rooms are very small but very clean, neat and tidy. It was a lovely experience. Thankyou
Very good accommodation and very comfortable. Excellent service and very friendly staff. Did not eat in so comment on food. Very central to all the eateries and wineries in the Clare Valley and easy to find on the main street.
Very dissapointing room less than average cleanliness not very clean ...wine glasses one small one large no amenities in bathroom bathroom floor sticky spa we had to go get cleaning products to clean it service big fat 0 not welcoming miserable attitude room exaggerated in size via photos anything we asked for not accommodating actually rude reminded us we are 3 star motel why not change description on yr website oh and restaurant surprise surprise not open again take it off advertising the hotel with photos of food i give this place 0 out of 5 never come here again will make sure family friends dont come either cant wait to leave tomorrow!
We stayed here as part of our SA road trip. Pro's , room clean, receptionist very friendly and help full. The pool area and adjacent bbq area would be nice to use in Summer. Cons, room was supposed to have garden view, the garden was very average and unkept. Kitchen appliances kept to high to reach . Bed comfortable but squeeky, Could hear noisy people through walls into our room. Verdict, we would stay elsewhere next time.
We were “upgraded” to a spacious and well furnished room with a QS bed. The kitchenette had a microwave, cutlery and crockery. The large bath towels were fluffy. The bathroom was chilly in the morning. We’d stay here again.
We found the room we stayed in was dirty, spider webs in corners and ceilings. Dusty carpet and dusty remote for tv. Aircon unit didn't keep temperature too well. Bathroom had a huge step leading into it, which could be quite dangerous, especially for older people. Bathroom was old and outdated, cold with no means to heat it. Temperature for water in shower hard to regulate, very annoying. There were literally bugs in the room. We killed two spiders and saw millipedes and a cricket or cockroach, unsure which one. Lastly the website was outdated, having been told could not cater for any type of dining despite it saying otherwise on the site. Very dissapointed with our saty, definitely not coming back.
We stay here every time we visit Clare. Beautiful grounds with a bbq, pool and alpacas! The rooms are always clean and well presented. The beds are so comfy! The restaurant has been closed each time we’ve visited due to COVID which is a shame but there’s plenty of other places to eat in Clare.
