Detailed Reviews
We arrived at 10am and were fortunate that others had already left enabling us to park our rental car within the property for the day.
Then it was off to experience the Claire Valley wines with Charles from Valley Wine Tours. While on tour with Charles we received advise of our code to access the apartment.
Getting back after 5pm, we quickly unloaded the car and settled into the apartment. These are well appointed apartments with plenty of space and modern furnishings.
We were surprised with complimentary wines. There was a 2023 Jim Barry (Lodge Hill?) Riesling and 2021 Shiraz. These were both stunning wines that we both really enjoyed.
Breakfast was provided and would be refreshed on a daily basis during the stay (not the wine, so sad!!!!!). cereal, milk, 4 pieces of toast bread, around 9 rashers of bacon (not sure the style, but really tasty), 1ltr of milk, 6 eggs, butter, jam along with tea and coffee.
My partner enjoyed a treat in soaking in the large bath.
The location is 50m from the main street and a very easy stroll through the bars, eateries and shops. Several people highly recommended the Indii as the best Indian restaurant. As we had had Indian the previous weekend, we opted for Italian and the restaurant Ragu. Unfortunately, Ragu were taking their annual and I assume well-deserved break, so we missed it this time, but will definitely pop in on our next visit.
This is a very quiet apartment, lovely balcony outside and in excellent proximity to all amenities.
We highly recommend Mill Street Apartments, and this will be our definite go to place to stay on our next visit to the Claire Valley.

The Mill Apartments are located at the end of town, just a couple of minutes from the main drag.
The apartments are spotlessly clean, and have a generously equiped kitchen. Basics are supplied eg oil, salt, pepper, glad wrap, baking paper and kitchen paper towels.
A complimentary breakfast is provided daily. There is a selection of cereals, jams, honey, butter, bacon, bread, eggs, bacon, orange juice and water. You are also left cheese and biscuits. All of this is replaced daily. Such amazing generosity from the owners!
Shampoo, conditioner and hand/body lotion are supplied (Biology 303 - lovely products!).
There was also a voucher for a complimentary tasting at "Jim Barry Wines", which was a great experience.
The staff running the apartment do a fabulous job, and are happy to assist if you need anything at all.
There are also two restaurants right next to the apartments - Antidote and Ragu and Co. We didn't try Ragu as it was closed, for Antidote is fabulous for breakfast, lunch or dinner - excellent Indian food (covered under separate review).
Highly recommend these apartments if you are staying in Clare. We would definitely stay again.

The Mill Apartments in Clare township is ideally located, within short easy walking distance to the shops and cafes and the perfect base from which to explore the region. Everything has been well thought through, in order to ensure that guests have a most comfortable stay and our apartment was spotless upon arrival. Everything we expect and hope for in a country town motel/hotel apartment was provided - a practical kitchen with all essentials in easy reach, proper glassware (a must in Wine Country), comfy sofas and big screen TV in the lounge area, a well-proportioned, light, bright bathroom and well-appointed bedroom with a very comfortable bed. In the morning, the top quality, pure cotton bedlinen and pillows made it extremely difficult to part company with. No hesitation in recommending and a dead certain overnight spot when we next find ourselves in the valley.

The Mill had "all bases covered". Very, very comfortable with great amenities and generous extras. Arriving to a warm room on a chilly evening in Clare was a lovely touch. An ideal location meant I had about 20 paces to walk for an evening meal and even less for a morning coffee.

We've stayed here before, and will be very happy to stay again. Clean, comfortable, spacious, with effective heating for Clare winters! Kitchen includes oven, hotplates, microwave, and there are plentiful breakfast supplies, though not much cooking equipment. That's not really a problem, because there are nearby restaurants and hotels for dinner - except, be warned, on Mondays! The midweek deal in winter is absolutely a deal. The Jim Barry's wine tasting Immersion experience being offered to guests made it an even better deal.

What a great place to stay, it’s simply superb. We had 3 very enjoyable nights here, it’s perfectly placed in town with the Italian restaurant Ragu right next door and other restaurants within easy walking distance.
The apartment is so comfortable with a great choice for breakfast ie cereal, eggs and bacon, bread to toast, tea and coffee and 2 bottles of wine. The bed was comfortable, the towels fluffy and lovely toiletries. Everything was perfect, we would definitely stay here again and I can highly recommend it.

The apartments are great, well thought out and very clean and contemporary. The addition of the free bottles of wine and generous breakfast provisions is gratefully received.
There is absolutely no wiggle room on even a 10 minute early check in, despite the rom clearly being ready for use, which was a bit odd TBH.
The breakfast provisions were replenished on the second day, but strangely not the toiletries, so no shower gel etc on day 2, probably an oversight.

Beautifully presented apartments in a nice, quiet, private location, nestled in a quaint, friendly, charming town, within the beautiful picturesque, Clare Valley wine region of South Australia.
The apartment itself was immaculate, spacious, in a contemporary setting which had very good flow. Comfy bed an very nice pillows.
To top it all off were the 2 complimentary bottles of Jim Barry wines , and locally sourced bacon + eggs.
A big shout out to Amanda and staff for their efforts which made our stay even better.
2 nights waste enough but nevertheless, a wonderful stay.
Definitely recommend.
Cheers,
Shannon + Donna.

Great location, parking on site but you’re on the main street through Clare with shops, pubs and restaurants.
We had a 3 night stay and enjoyed the well stocked and equipped 2bdrm apartment.
The breakfast provisions of bread, cereal, eggs, bacon, tea and a coffee machine were great.
The beds were super comfy and the aircon kept us toasty warm.

The Mill Apartments were a fantastic stay with parking under the unit. We had a one bedroom apartment with a fully stocked kitchen. The bed was extremely comfortable and a luxurious bathroom. Breakfast was included which comprised of cereals and fresh eggs, fresh bread and yummy bacon was left in the fridge for us. The apartments are very central to the town and you can walk to the rooftop bar or many eating places. I would definitely recommend The Mill Apartments
