My family and I were looking for a relaxing resort location on the Great Barrier Reef and were not disappointed with our spacious 2 bedroom accommodation at Amaroo at Trinity Beach. This provided well appointed accommodations for our two teenage children and my wife and I. The views to the Ocean from our rooms were striking and peaceful and the proximity to town was welcomed during our 3 night stay. Access to Daintree forest and Great Barrier Reef Tours made it possible for us to experience the area in a meaningful way. We recommend this resort.

We stayed here for 4 nights over a weekend. The staff were super friendly and attentive. The resort has a swimming pool and a tennis court. There is a communal washing machine and dryer but it does cost $6 to use the machine and dryer.
To access the rooms and facilities you have a key, but I’d prefer to have keyless entry into areas due to Covid. They do have hand sanitizer around the lift.
The ocean view was magnificent and the rooms are all in one.

We just spent five nights in dual-key units 208-A and 208-B at Amaroo at Trinity. We have stayed before and love how ALL the deluxe units are so different. It's like a top quality box of chocolates and you never know which surprise you are going to get. The views from the units are SPECTACULAR, the rooms are super clean, the staff are extremely helpful, and the fact that there is no main road below the cliff means there is no road noise. The sounds of the waves crashing on the beach is something I don't think could be found anywhere else.

We stayed 9 nights in an apartment (208A) with dual sea and hills views. Trinity Beach is perfect for chilling out or for a base for all the Cairns/Daintree region has to offer. There are plenty of good cafes and restaurants and walks but it is far more chilled than nearby Palm Cove.

The bus route 111 is great to pop into Cairns or Palm Cove and as per the managers tip, ordering from Woolies or Coles means you can fill your fridge without the hassle.

The location at the top of the hill at the end of the lovely beach is perfect. You are near the Tavern, Bottlo and cafes and right by the beach via steps. Note: if you are not at least moderately fit and don’t have a car you may want to consider a flatter location.

The apartment was bright and clean and the amenities were excellent. Actually they had better gadgets than we have at home and all were new!

The staff were friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend Amaroo.

Nice location and great views. Located on the hills so even ground floor got nice sea views. We stayed in a Deluxe sea view room which i guess recently renovated.
They have undercover parking and a lift for higher floors.
Room is modern and AC worked fine.
Smart Tv so can watch youtube or netflix if you have account.
Bed is very comfy.
Kitchen was well equipped.
Bathroom was very small but get the job done not a big deal.
They had a laundry room every floor i guess but cost around $ 10 for a wash and dry.

The lady Owner is friendly and nice to deal with.

Few things I noticed that they can work on is toaster was rusty seems no one used it. Tea cups had brown stains all inside as not washed properly for a while or too old.
Also even though it is a self contained apartment if they can be more generous with things like bin bags , sugar , tea bags would be great.
But those were small things which can handle.

Overall nice clean place with great views.

We have just finished a seven day stay in a ground floor ocean view studio at the Amaroo At Trinity Beach. What an excellent place to relax and enjoy all that Trinity Beach has to offer. Fabulous room, spotlessly clean and with the most gorgeous terrace with view to the Coral Sea. The onsite management team made check in a breeze and the communication prior to our arrival from Kym was excellent. A few steps down the road you can access a couple of well-priced eateries and of course, the beach is just across the road.
We were more than happy with our choice.

The room was well equipped and very comfortable with a gorgeous view of the ocean.
The staff were really helpful, friendly and professional.
The pool area was a really relaxing place to enjoy during the day and the heated pool was pristine.
The location is ideal for all that Trinity Beach has to offer.
The management played a blinder when we left our car keys in the safe on check out and helped arrange getting them to us at Cairns airport.
Thank you team at Amaroo On Trinity, we will be back to enjoy your awesome hospitality again.

Amaroo is really nice and Trinity beach is the place to stay if you are looking for a quiet relaxing holiday. A beautiful little village, less touristy than Palm Cove which we preferred. The beach is a lovely walk as is the Esplanade. The war history (see the billboards on the beach) is very interesting. The staff at Amaroo are fantastic and super welcoming which we loved. Most people staying here are also really friendly and there is a vibe where people like saying hello to one and other which we enjoyed. At least 6 restaurants to enjoy (which were all brilliant!!) and yes Amaroo is on a hill but that's why it has such good views even from the 1st floor which we stayed on. The stairs to access the beach are fine for most but will give you a work out which we were ok with to try and work off our dinner/drinks etc. The BBQs onsite are really handy and we used them a number of times then ate by the pool which is where they were located. The pool is sheltered from the elements unlike the other nearby resorts so even on the windiest of days we could have a beautiful swim and relax. The balconies are generally too hot to sit on until late morning but the flip side is they are lovely once in shade which we preferred anyway. The sunrise is truly majestic from here! The patrolled section of the beach is a little bit of a walk along the beach but again that was fine for us.

The only thing I would try to change is putting felt or rubber on the legs of furniture. Staying on the first floor we heard every time our upstairs neighbours got in and out their chairs. But this is a very minor issue.....

In terms of the restaurants Yada Thai was our favourite and we also enjoyed chilling at the Tavern (give the roast pumpkin risotto or Buddha bowl a try it was very very nice).

Thanks to the Amaroo team for a lovely stay our family of 3 had an awesome holiday. Would be very keen to stay again!! Travelling here and seeing the reef and Daintree were on our bucket lists and Trinity beach and Amaroo made this the most wonderful trip and memories for us, not only a beautiful location that felt safe and relaxed but a central and quiet base.

Fun apartment, perched on the cliff behind the north end of the beach.
We had a ground floor apartment so could walk off the terrace and use our room key on the gate to access the steps down to the beach.
Pool has a lovely BBQ area which has been supplied with lots of equipment and condiments. Had dinner there 2 nights through the week but there's plenty of good dining out options nearby as well.
Kitchenette is small but functional and they have sharp knives to use (yay!).
Bathroom is small due to the building shape as the bathroom is at the narrowest point.
The property owner/managers and all staff we met were very pleasant and friendly.

T1 is international and T2 is domestic so yes! It’s a pretty small airport so not a problem if you’re aiming to pick up a car rental or shuttle

Can you snorkel in June? How's the weather typically.
Answer from melssaf1953

Yes on the reef. It’s not freezing and the suit they provide is insulated.
Answer from dukeboy1098 .

There is a liquor shop next door and a small supermarket about a 15 minute walk away. Buses run to Smithfield shopping Centre and take about 20 mins. A taxi will cost about $50 from the airport and you will need Australian dollars. You can look into airport transfers which you pay in advance. Just google cairns airport shuttles.
Jay H asked a question May 2018

Do you provide hair dryers in the rooms here?
Answer from melssaf1953
Port Macquarie, Australia
There was a hair dryer in ours.
