Detailed Reviews
We stayed in the most wonderful apartment,(number 33) everything was spotlessly clean. The kitchen was very well equipped with crockery, saucepans(if you choose to use them). etc. utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer. The bed was comfy, The air con and ceiling fans were a blessing with temperatures outside 30+ degrees. The views of the hotel grounds and ocean from the balcony were amazing. The hotel grounds were immaculate, the reception staff were polite and very helpful.
If we ever returned to Trinity Beach from UK, we would ask for this apartment again

Coral Sands has been the perfect choice for our family holiday. We arrived early, and were greeted very warmly by Grace, who did her best to get our room ready before check-in time for us. She gave us all the information we needed about nearby services and even provided us with umbrellas so we could walk to LUnico (a fabulous beachside restaurant adjacent to the resort) to have brunch while we waited.
Our room was lovely - extremely spacious, comfortable, clean, had everything we needed for a week away, and with beautiful views over the pool to the ocean. The staff were always friendly, responsive and attentive.
The location is great, there are several fantastic places to eat, as well a small supermarket, convenience store and other small shops in short walking distance. There are beautiful walkways along the esplanade and a netted area for ocean swimming. The resort pool is great for relaxing and is set amongst lush tropical gardens. We hired a car to explore Cairns and Kuranda and to get to the Marina for a reef tour, but all were within a half hour drive.

Our second stay at Trinity Beach so we decided to stay closer to the ocean and beach views. Our room certainly did not disappoint. Very clean and tidy, had everything we needed for a perfect family holiday. We stayed a duration of 7 nights and would have like to of had a housecleaning service at least 1 day to replenish towels etc. overall would recommend a stay at Coral Sands. We will be back.

The reception staff at the check-in was not professional nor friendly. It’s not a resort hotel welcome, but I felt I was in a train station to get my train ticket. Reception staff member was in an enclosed cage seated inside and No information was given about the facility and the surroundings. No staff to take luggage nor a trolley and there were sets of steps everywhere. We (4 people) stayed at the apartment for 4 nights and when we asked for fresh towels, we were asked to wash and reuse what was given. We had only 1 bath towel each and not even a face towel. I won’t call this a resort but an ordinary budget self-contained motel. Don't get fooled by the name "Resort” as there are No staff for guest services and No bar, No restaurant and we did not see any recreational facilities on site either. There weren’t any lifts neither a porter to carry luggage and we seniors had to carry our own luggage through the stairway to the 1st floor and that damaged one of us back hence wasn't a pleasant holiday. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was not working at all. The towel rail was broken and hanging along the wall. Looking on the internet I misunderstood that it was a Propper Resort hotel with guests’ services, but it wasn't. The beach wasn't suitable to use as the water seems to be muddy. Reception cage was closed most of the time and unattended but you could call them over the phone. We are completely dissatisfied and will not recommend this to anyone and will never return to this property.

We apologise for not meeting your expectations. Our website clearly states that we offer self-contained accommodation, meaning we provide most of the amenities you would have at home, allowing you to feel at home here. We've been around for over 30 years and have many regular guests who love this place. However, we understand that occasionally, some guests may not be satisfied. We do not advertise ourselves as a resort hotel, and there is a distinction between the two. Regarding the weather and the ocean conditions, unfortunately, those are beyond our control. Our reception is manned from 9 am to 5 pm, and we wish you had visited us during these hours so we could have addressed some of your concerns. Additionally, there is indeed an on-site restaurant called L'Unico. We strive to offer great value by providing spacious apartments that include full kitchens, laundry facilities, and ample living space, all at an affordable price. Had you booked a hotel room, you would likely have paid a similar amount for a much smaller space with fewer amenities. Offering daily service would increase the cost significantly, and we aim to keep our prices reasonable. Your comment about us being a budget motel is not fair; I’m not aware of any motel that offers oceanfront two-bedroom, two-bath accommodations with undercover parking at the price you paid. We regret that you won't be returning, but we hope you find satisfaction with a hotel that offers the daily service you desire. Cairns is a fantastic holiday destination, and we wish you all the best in your future travels. We hope this response addresses your concerns.

Travelled to have a family holiday, finally after 2 years unable to travel, with daughter & her family, staying in separate apartments.
Great location, close to walking beach, restaurants and not as busy as Cairns or Palm Cove. Gardens and pool area kept in excellent condition and shaded pool area great for families with children. Balcony nice with a lovely lookout over the pool area and a bit of beach.
The apartment, whilst roomy was very dated, with a good paint job and upgrade badly needed. We stayed in apartment 37, asked for the fans to be cleaned so we could use, on the second day of our stay, which didn't happen while we were there. The queen size bed was extremely uncomfortable, old mattress with foam topper over which did nothing for comfort.
The TV remote in the bedroom, did not work well, lounge room chairs were old and uncomfortable, and one of them is actually broken. Bathrooms are most dated, where one toilet cistern had been replaced, the holes in the wall and paintwork around where old cistern was had not been patched and painted.
Promote Nespresso Coffee machines in each apartment, so we took our coffee pods with us, unfortunately, the Nespresso machine in our apartment did not work, the top would not close where you put in the pods. Most kitchen utensils and crockery really need to be updated.
Underground car park is good, however, with no lifts you are left to carry everything up stairs, which is okay for the younger ones but would not recommend for older people or people with health and mobility limitations.
As we upgraded to a superior apartment, we expected it to be more up to date and better cared for. We had a better view of the pool for our upgrade.
I would just hope that the owners, and all are individually owned, took better care of their investment that they want people to pay good money to stay there.
We stayed for 10 nights, and no housekeeping was done, they promote weekly housekeeping, therefore we had to try to keep our towels dry by hanging them on a rusty airer.
For a holiday resort, and during peak holiday times, reception hours over the Easter long weekend were disappointing to say the least. Approx 1.5 hours of reception, not good enough.
I don't like leaving bad reviews, however, despite the great location, gardens and pool area, we will not be returning to this resort.

Great Location…
But that’s where it stops.
Only given 1 small cake of soap, 1 small shampoo and 1 small conditioner for 3 people for 5 days.
When I went to reception to request more the lady said we don’t usually give more out but I will check if we have any.
No face washer.
Pool closes at 8pm and no alcohol allowed in pool area.
And the wifi was TERRIBLE!

The hotel is set in beautiful gardens opposite the beach. The bus stop is around the corner and a new grocers next door. This came in very handy. The hotel itself is dated. Our room was large and roomy but in need of a makeover. Hasn't been touched since we went 20 years ago. Other apartments are renovated so best to find out which ones. Management were not friendly or helpful, they did not change our towels or bedding at all while we were there for 8 nights. They charged us $ 5.00 to rent a beach towel and when we asked for a late checkout we were charged $ 10.00 per hour over 10am. I found these last 2 costs very disappointing. First time I have been charged for these since I have been travelling around the world for the past 25 years. If I stayed here again it is because of the position and gardens. The rooms need to all be updated if they want to charge the same prices

Hi Wendy, Thank you for taking the time to post a review. Unfortunately there still is a small number of apartments that have not yet been updated but we are trying to work with these unit owners to make this happen. I am surprised to hear that in all your years of travel around the world that we are the first property to charge for pool towels and late check out as this is a fairly common practice amongst properties.

Sent an email to the hotel with no response, so decided to add this review for people to see.
After finding food in the cupboard, including sugar and other products opened in the cupboard above the microwave, we found ants and cockroaches a constant in the apartment.
The mould on the roof above the shower in the main bedroom was disgraceful and a health hazard.
Seeing the machinery left outside our door on the second last day (which had been left there overnight, we were never told about any maintenance occurring, which didn't help the relaxed holiday we wanted. But to also find the power cable running across the top of the stairs with no warning very dangerous.
The only thing that made this stay any good, was the view of the beach, which we could not fully enjoy with the issues that occurred in the apartment and outside with the maintenance.
Also, Internet access was very very erratic, and could hardly use it.

The location is second to none. Right across the beach. Underground car park. Good pool but not heated so was a bit chilly, unless a hot day (ocean water warmer at the beach). The 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment we staid at was very spacious with a lovely balcony overlooking the beach. However, absolutely filthy. The dishwasher was full of dirty dishes when we arrived. The extraction fans were full of mold that kept falling on the bathroom floor. Half the light bulbs were out and the rest were very low wattage. Mold spots on every picture in the apartment and dust clusters hanging off the ceilings in the bedrooms. Furniture well used with stains on cushions. A thorough clean or better still, a renovation, is in order. Interestingly, people we met by the pool said their apartment was spotless. Perhaps managed by different companies/cleaners?...

Great location, across the road from the beach and very close to cafes, bars and local amenities.
The pool was good for young kids, being quite shallow and well stocked with a range of pool toys. The pool water was heavily chlorinated, to the point that my grandkids had sore red eyes after swimming, even when wearing goggles most of the time.
The apartment was nice enough, albeit a bit tired and showing signs of wear and tear. A door handle fell off, which staff repaired. There was a coffee pod machine provided but no pods (they could be purchased for reception). I personally find that annoying - if a pod machine is provided I feel a small number of pods should also be included.
Overall an enjoyable stay.

Yep, our unit had everything to get you started, soap, shampoo etc. Our ensuite had a hairdryer, I didn’t ask my sister if hers had one, I’d say it would have because our unit seemed to have everything we needed. Great place to stay.
No the pool isn't heated.
Coral Sands tour desk can arrange all tours. Reef tours start from Cairns wharf which is about 20-30 min bus ride ( the 111 from outside the resort) . Also many tours will pick you up from resort
