I'd rather write positive things and wasn't going to say anything, but as I have been invited by the people running this business to review our stay, I will. In their letter that was pushed under the door on our last day it states "Your feedback is important to us!" We have travelled extensively during the last 20 years, and have stayed at many nice places. We only stay at 4/5 star. It looked fabulous on the internet, but that's where the honeymoon ends. This place is without any doubt the worst place we have ever stayed at. It is mostly due to the lack of maintenence and the very poor attitude of the reception staff if you have any problems. They are "reactive" to any of your concerns, rather than being proactive. Rather than checking things as the rooms are turned over, they wait for the complaints - but get aggressive like they did with us by offering to refund us and to find other accommodation because we had some issues. It's probably because most people just stay for a day or 2 and put up with the problems. We stayed 7 nights and the main 2 problems were the light entering the rooms at night (due to poorly fitted, cheap window treatments) and the "energy saving" air-conditioning controllers. We are from the south and not used to the humidity and usually sleep with an A/C at 22 degrees. However, the "energy saving" remotes couldn't be adjusted below 23 degrees and the fan speed is controlled at the lowest speed. Other problems include the sink in the ensuite filling up when the plug is out. Loose toilet seat that couldn't be adjusted. Infestations of cockroaches and silverfish. Cheap rubbish 32cm "Hisense" TV's in the bedrooms. The TV remotes didn't work very well either as the batteries probably needed changing (but too scared to dare ask for replacements). The ceiling fans need cleaning and the one above the dining table is permanently on (electrical fault). The smoke alarm went off midway through our time here (another battery required) so we removed it and put it in the boot of our car - then replaced it upon leaving. When we arrived the shower head in the second bathroom was held up with sticky bandage - but was reluctantly fixed when we mentioned it. The safe was locked. The flouro light in the kitchen flickers and needs replacing. Their maintenence man has a poor attitude, as does the receptionist. To cap it off, if you do choose to stay here, don't select the beachfront rooms as you will have the sun blasting directly into your rooms for 2-3 hours in the morning and the see-through blinds offer little resistance, and only have a room on the top floor or you will have to put up with the noise from people above you. The noise from the crashing waves is substantial at times throughout the night - so something to consider if you are a light sleeper. Entry to our room is by an old and loose (needing replacement) keyed lock - and even the key was bent. Doors squeak, the driveway is very steep (too dangerous to walk down if it's been raining), or you could do the 70 or so steps at the rear of the property - but not safely before the sun gets up as the top half has no lighting. "They" said they've been running this property for over 6 years and have never had any complaints. Well, maybe it's time to start listening to your guests and do some maintenence.

Response from Bellevue Trinity Beach, General Manager at Bellevue at Trinity Beach
Responded 2 July 2023
Hi Terry, we are incredibly disappointed that you felt the need to leave such an awful review. On arrival you mentioned that you had PTSD and had trouble sleeping. We were completely reactive to your complaints and did what we could to make your stay as pleasant as possible. We even called in an electrician to disable the light in the corridor outside your apartment as you were unable to sleep. We received an email from you at 1.40am in the morning the following night stating that you could not sleep as the air con was on 23 degrees and you can only sleep in 22 degrees. We did mention that the outdoor temperature was 19 degrees if the 23 degree was too uncomfortable. Also it was you who stated in that email that you wanted to check out that morning and get a refund for the rest of your stay. We never suggested that you should leave but accepted that this was your request and agreed to a refund so to say that we were the ones to imply this is a pure fabrication. It is obvious by your review that Bellevue does not suit your needs. I think other people reading this review and comparing others posted by previous guests will realise that the majority of our guests absolutely love staying with us. It is sad that you could not enjoy our wonderful ocean views and the sound of the waves. Regards, Laura and Greg

We stayed at Bellevue a few weeks ago for my birthday. I'd booked directly with Laura a few months before our stay. She seemed pleasant in our dealings. When we checked in, we found the apartment (no.10) to be very spacious with a great view of the ocean. Unfortunately, the standard of cleaning was disappointing. Most surfaces needed wiping properly, including a fake plant in the main living area that was covered in dust, and there were stains on some of the decorative cushions (I took pics of the plant and soiled cushions). Our kids had settled in quickly after our long journey, so I chose to hide the crusty pillows and wipe the surfaces myself. (Throughout our stay we came across other poorly cleaned items including stained bed blankets, dusty aircons and dirty dishes in the cupboard). On our first night about 9:30pm when getting ready for bed, we found that we could only lock one of the three patio doors. The sliding door could be locked without a key, but the two swing doors needed a key, which we were not provided with. I called the after hours reception number and spoke to Laura to ask how we lock the doors. She seemed shocked as to why we were questioning why the doors didn't lock, and asked whether I was worried about anyone getting in, and why we would want to lock the doors as we were on the second level. She said that "no one had ever had a problem or mentioned it", and it's apparently "very safe". When I explained that, while yes, someone getting into our apartment is a concern, it's for peace of mind as we had our kids with us. Laura said "It's late, I'm tired, what do you want me to do?". Her attitude was disappointing. I mean, the doors have key locks on them, why not provide guests with the key?? We were able to enjoy the view, the pool and being so close to the beach. We liked that the apartment was spacious, but overall it was quite expensive for such poor presentation. The whole apartment just needs a decent clean, which I mentioned upon checking out. All in all, yes the view from an ocean room is great, but you can get better value for money and better standards and service elsewhere.

Hi Kathryn, We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. You mentioned your issues on departure back in May which I checked on straight away but did not find the same issues you mentioned. I also apologise if you felt I was not reactive enough about there not being a lock for the balcony doors. It would be hard to see someone getting through the security gates we have at the front and back of the building and then scale 3 floors over other guest's balconies to get to Apt 10. In saying that we have addressed the situation. Laura

The apartment was wonderful, right on the beach with amazing views. But the manager, Laura, was the standout feature of our holiday. She went above and beyond in organising things and making our trip 100% perfect. We will definately be back next year.

Just back from a fantastic 7 nights at Bellevue. The whole complex is immaculate and Unit 4 was to die for. Every utensil you might ever need was provided, king bed was so comfortable, the balcony looking straight out over the Coral Sea was magical. Host Greg and Laura were always there if and when you needed something. All in all a fabulous resort. Denis

We visited with some of our family in mid May, having stayed at Trinity Beach before on business. This time it was purely vacation and Bellevue at Trinity Beach was a splendid choice. From beginning our research, and chatting with our hosts via email, to sitting on the balcony surveying the Pacific with a glass of wine in hand, everything was 'just right' as Goldilocks would say. It was only three nights, and sight seeing was designed to encompass what family hadn't seen, but the wonderful view and the equally wonderful food found on recommendation from Laura...bliss! We will be back when opportunity presents itself

Fantastic managers who would go out of their way to make your stay as wonderful as they can. The apartment was very clean, with comfortable beds and furniture. A well equipped kitchen all provided us with the most memorable stay we have had in a long time. Close to everything you need in Trinity beach and an amazing well maintained pool! Well done Bellevue we can’t wait to come back.
