Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us with a warm welcome.
The beers were cold as advertised, and the dining area was clean with plenty nostalgia look at.
The food was well priced and very tasty.
I had the rump and it was cooked to perfection.
My wife Feankie had the sirloin and unfortunately, it was a little tough, whilst the boys had a burger and cabonara. Frankie also tried some of the cabonara and said it was great. I highly recommend trying this place out if you are coming to Goondiwindi.
P.S. not sure how accurate the "Qld oldest pub" sign is?

Food was great and pub has a great layout and vibe but don’t go the $18 cocktails. Bought a few Margaritas and they rated 1 out of 10 of the 1000 I’ve had before elsewhere. Dared to complain and told I was aggressive which was not true. Virtually stating I didn’t have the right to question their dishwater cocktail. Just unfortunate as all else was good.

Called in for a drink in public bar entry earlier - was okay so tried the dining area which was excellent - nice atmosphere, good range on menu and a very nice meal. Pleasant service, this is a good place to eat.

We pulled off the main highway to find a pub lunch. While the place was pretty empty, no doubt due to COVID, we were welcomed in by locals at the main bar and directed towards the dining area. The food and service was exceptional, couldn’t believe how good the meals were so far inland. The staff were nicely chatted and very hospitable while we were there. They even catered for my mate who is gluten intolerant with a top meal.If you want a great pub lunch and probably dinner, this place is a must for weary hungry travellers.

Do Not Bother.
The staff are Rude, and we're more interested in socialising with their friends. The staff walk around eating behind the bar, and then they may acknowledge you. If you're a local, your slushies are served in Schooners and if you are not local, you get a plastic cup. They don't want Tourists there, so give it a miss.

My wife and I have been going around Australia for the last 10 years this is our 11th time around and we have had 3 terrible meals at hotels in that time one in Coffin Bay another in Charleville and our third at the Queensland hotel Goondiwindi . The 1 and a quarter hour wait was okay but then the Parmi with veg came out I have no idea who cooked it but it was the worst meal of the three I've had in the ten years never again for us . Barry

Great decore and ambience, friendly service, large and well cooked food and my wife tells me - the best ladies loo in a pub that she's ever seen, complete with a complimentary basket full of all female needs. We had the barramundi and the eye fillet, both done to perfection. The lovely beer garden is even pet friendly!

We had dinner again during the night's stay at the border Motel, and the restaurant was packed, so we ate in the main bar area.
The staff were nice and friendly, and the meals were delicious and large portions at a very reasonable price.
Appeared to be very popular for meals so it must be suitable for the locals too.

Had dinner here on the nights stay at the border Motel just down the road.
Went for drinks and dinner.
Staff were nice and friendly and the meals were very good and large portions at a very reasonable price.
Appeared to be very popular for meals so must be good for the locals too.
No Issue with parking as plenty out the front of hotel or the side street if not walking.

Fantastic! Staff were excellent, meals delicious and a beer garden that is out of this world. We had a great time. Fantastic job by the owners in jazzing up this gem. Very impressed with the renovations and how they have kept the QL’s original charm.
