Detailed Reviews
We had dinner in the Dining room of the Victoria Hotel and enjoyed a great meal and service. Mickey was particularly friendly and welcoming. New waitress working her first day was also very kind & friendly. The lady serving at the Bar was Helprin choosing a red wine - excellent employee also.

Excellent service and the wine and food was great. Ben was a pleasure to deal with and went way beyond our expectations. I would recommend to anyone travelling through Goondiwindi to call in and experience the food, wine and exceptional service.

Our experience was exceptional. The staff were so accommodating ( in these times when there is a shortage of staff these people gave their all). Steaks were cooked to perfection with a choice of sauce. We thoroughly enjoyed the the country hospitality. In fact we have found this town to be a gem.

Was spending weekend in Goondiwindi catching up with schoolfriends. After a most enjoyable tour around the town and to the cotton farm, I went to the Victoria for lunch. I ordered one of the specials in the bistro, thinking it would be a quick meal. I was wrong. While the bistro wasn’t particularly busy, it took half an hour for my meal to arrive. The two people in the booth next to me got their meal in ten minutes. To make it worse, the French fries in my order were cold and the chicken wrap was tasteless.

The meal was good and affordable but the air con in the dining room was way too cold and the loud music certainly does not add any atmosphere.
In the main bar we were given raffle tickets, but unfortunately winning numbers are not announced in the dining room. When we asked about it, the staff didn’t seem to care about it.
Quite a pity, we would’ve like to stay a bit longer, but the staff were not welcoming to “not-locals”.

With friends, I visited Goondiwindi for 3 days. On our first night we drank and dined at the Vic (Victoria Hotel). All drinks were refreshingly cold, the food was outstanding and the entire staff of the hotel were the friendliest group of people we had met and there was ample staff to serve the patrons without long delays. The experience was so good we returned on the following two nights and I came to the same opinion about the hotel. It was clear that the Victoria Hotel is the physically and socially the centre of Goondiwindi. The locals obviously loved it and so did we. This is a gem - one of the best we visited in south-western QLD.

We had a family meal on Friday night, the steaks were superb and all the meals were cooked perfectly. Ben was really friendly and helpful with tips for us as to what to do in Goondiwindi and provided a taxi service from our Caravan Park accommodation to the pub (and back again). Well recommended!

We decided to take the stress away this year for Christmas so we made a table booking at the Victoria Hotel for Christmas lunch. Our table consisted of 4 people, one of our quartet being a Qualified Chef who is regarded as a food connoisseur and not faint hearted at voicing an opinion. For our Christmas Day Lunch booking we were picked up at our door and driven to the hotel where upon arrival we were greeted by the hotel manager Hanna who escorted us to our table. The Lunch was an amazing food experience with fresh ingredients, delicious and generous portions, served with tasteful crockery, cutlery, white linen table clothes and napkins. If Good food and service is what you look for in a dining experience then doing Christmas Lunch at the Victoria Hotel should be high on your list. My compliments to the Hotel Manager Hanna and Head Chef Steve for making our Christmas Lunch so memorable.

Passing through town, went here for dinner, due to unforeseen circumstances on a busy Saturday night, the kitchen “fell short” and there were many disappointed customers, including ourselves. But this comment is about the staff and particularly Daniel, who coped extremely well under pressure, alleviated many customer complaints, was professional, and salvaged our night. Food eventually turned up and was pretty good actually. But Daniel impressed us. Hope he gets noticed from this. Well done champ!

We stopped in at the Victoria Hotel for an early lunch on our return trip from Dirranbandi to The Gold Coast.
We had a lovely lunch, our meals were as ordered and we had lots of different extras etc. the steaks were delicious and the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend and will stop there again when out that way
