5 adults stayed in a 3 bedroom unit with ocean views. We overlooked the cafe garden next door but noise was not a problem. The unit was well equipped. The third bedroom near the entry was small, ok for 1 adult but would be crowded for 2 adults. Having said this that room was best for sleeping as it was dark and very quiet. The front two bedrooms become warmer in the morning with the sun beating on the building however the unit was fully air conditioned. The balcony is very small, only room for a small round table with two chairs. Master had ensuite bathroom. There was a second bathroom and a separate toilet next to it. The laundry is next to the kitchen and provides another good basin for cleaning teeth if necessary. Please note this resort is totally non smoking. One cannot smoke even on the balcony with the doors closed. There is a small park across the road with a smoking area. Next door is a fabulous fish & chip cafe, another cafe with great coffee - we didnt try their food. Its a short walk to the Surf Club and only metres to the beach & walking path.

We have just spent our fifth Winter at Rolling Surf Resort and would not stay anywhere else on the Coast. Grandchildren don't have to cross the road to get to the beach and the ideal location means that the car stays in the garage most of the time. We have stayed in several different apartments at Rolling Surf and all have been spacious and comfortable with excellent ocean views. We have always found Caroline and Mark, Rebecca and the other staff to be friendly and obliging and quick to respond to any issues. The cleaning staff are hard-working and do an excellent job in servicing the apartment each week. We will definitely be back next year.

We loved the Rolling Surf! The apartments and large and well furnished. The kitchen has all the bits and bobs you need to cook like you’re at home, which is great when holidaying as a family. The kids adored the large sparkling pool and the fact that you walk out the gate and the beach is literally right there. The staff were friendly and communication was easy. We loved having the shops just downstairs for a morning cuppa or a sneaky after tea gelato. Thanks team!

After visiting the rolling surf on and off for 30 plus years my now 33 year old I remember sitting in a high chair in the restaurant before the big renovations years ago .. this was a family reunion .. coming from all over Australia we visited last year and had been quite disappointed but silly us decided to give it one more go .. dealing with the staff just to book was a nightmare not friendly or helpful the manager being the rudest and most difficult you hope when you ring not to get her on the other end as everything seems a problem . the resort room we got was ocean view yes but right above the carpark and delivery area for all the food outlets below so very noisy early in the mornings .. the fridge had a strange smell we thought was just a cleaner smell but seems that the smell went through all our food and was concerned about what it actually was .. once we were in the unit actually communicating with the staff was not something you felt you could do as they were short and rude and we were there to have an enjoyable holiday .. we actually had to throw out about $200 worth of food including ice bricks and water as the smell had permeated through everything.. we brought it up with the staff as we were concerned it was a health issue they couldn’t tell us what was used or be helpful at all and dismissed our genuine concerns . A security deposit of $300 was given on arrival and we had to ring up after it hadn’t been retuned after one week the manager very rude and not even a sorry .. it took 11 days to return the deposit .. I feel that when you go for a holiday it should be a pleasant interaction when booking and this definitely wasn’t and when needing to bring up genuine concerns there should be at the very least kindness and understanding.. at the very least courtesy.. won’t be revisiting as it shouldn’t be that hard ..

Regarding the fridge, we understand this was a significant issue for you. We’ve since contacted the Health Department, who reviewed our cleaning procedures and products and confirmed they meet the necessary standards. Unfortunately, the issue was only brought to our attention on the day of your departure. Our team checked the fridge three times and attempted to reach you by phone three times as well but did not receive a response. We apologize for the delay in refunding your security deposit. On the day of check-out, our team did inadvertently forget to process the refund, but it was completed within four days. However, please note that banks can take up to five working days to process refunds, which is beyond our control. The staff (apart from one lady at reception) were miserable. The apartment was tired and a really odd shape. The 2nd bedroom located at the back of the apartment was more like a large walk in robe - it has sliding doors and the bed was pushed up against the tiny wardrobe so you couldn't open the doors. The balcony was soo small you could barely fit two small chairs and a table on it. Everywhere you looked there were sign saying 'if you do this... you will be fined' - it became a running joke during our stay. The person that put out the wheelie bins almost everyday (it felt like about a 100) did so at the crack of dawn and was not quite at all. And to top it off they forgot to re-credit my card with the $300 hold they place on it during your stay. The only good thing about the place was the location which was fabulous. My suggestion.....pay a bit more and get a place that's larger and newer/renovated, where the staff don't think they are doing you a favour by showing up for work.

Rolling Surf Resort was NOT a pleasant stay
We arrived a day late because the Bruce Highway was flooded after torrential rain across Brisbane. The beach front was brown mud with piles of logs and debris as far as the eye could see. Huge waves were lapping the beach wall. But the receptionist made no attempt to acknowledge this disappointing holiday option by offering us a discount for the lost day or terrible weather outlook for the 10 days we had booked. We were given a pokey musty smelling unit on the first floor with no windows in any of the back rooms, and our bedroom and lounge overlooked a busy public footpath where people looked straight in as they walked past.
It appeared that most of the resort was unoccupied so it would have been easy to give us one of the nicer upper level units that we have stayed in previously, or even an upgrade with a better outlook. In addition the car park was nearly empty, but we were told to park in the most difficult corner on the right, after coming down a steep driveway.
During our stay we received a rude note under the door requesting us to return the luggage trolley which we had not touched!
As a consequence we will never return to this resort.

The unit is big and comfy, and also spacious! There are 99 units and you probably would be lucky to get a room because of many units.

First time we have stayed here. We stayed during peak holiday season and were very happy with the Location and the unit.
We had a 2 bedroom poolside apartment and were lucky to have full ocean views, albeit over a car park.
The unit was well equipped and clean.

We had a two bedroom oceanfront apartment for four nights. The apartment was big, beautiful and very clean. Very comfortable beds as well! All you need for a self catering holiday with a lovely view of the ocean. Check in and out was easy and the undercover parking was perfect. Evening strolls along the beach and boardwalk and delicious food available from the cafes made for a perfect get away. Highly recommend Rolling Surf Resort!

Booked a family holiday for my 70th. Thought I would splurge and pay extra for a swim up room. Advertised to swim up to your balcony. Not as advertised, go through gate, down stairs, climb down 2 rung ladder onto a small ledge, then you literally have to jump into the pool. Very disappointing as it made it virtually impossible for me to get in. Had to go out of our unit through a games room, over a small bridge before I found a ladder that allowed me to climb into the pool. Being on ground floor the people above us were really noisy, dragging chairs on tiled floors (could easily put felt on bottom of chair legs to reduce noise) constantly, never had this problem before. The unit itself was nice but the single mattresses were really soft, I mean uncomfortably so. Great location opposite the beach with plenty of eating places nearby. Thoroughly recommend Harry’s Beach Bistro. Lovely community pool at the beach.
