Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

What a find Caloundra is.Not many people mention it but great family friendly place to visit.
We stayed at Raintrees on Moffat beach. Great location. Off main Rd,short walk to beach ,cafés and shops.Tucked away in rainforest setting.Great pools for kids with a little water slide. Apartments very nice .Few little things needed attention but managers relatively new and still getting around to fixing things up inside apartments. Kerrie and Ian very happy to help.Quickly resolving any issues.
Only thing I would suggest is a ground floor apartment unless you like lugging suitcases up 3 flights of steep stairs and climbing them every day .We had a mature Aunt with us and bit much for her. Although Kerrie did help us get our cases up originally which was nice of her.
Would recommend Raintrees on Moffatt.

We stayed at Raintree the w/e of the tough mudder challenge 2013. The staff at reception were polite, and friendly (despite our late check in) and very helpful in regards to parking (take note 4wds over 1.8 m will not fit in the undercover car park). However, we found a good park around the back of the property and found this to be just as convenient.
The location of Raintrees in the real winner, with easy access to the beach via a well formed path, and a short walk to shops and cafes (check out the espresso bar opposite the playground).
The 3 bedroom townhouse, had ocean views, modern amenities and funky decor. The kids particularly liked the heated pool and waterslide. Our only recommendation for the owner, would be a manual to operate the washing machine and dryer, as my year 8 german is a little rusty!
A well priced , family friendly resort, that begs for our return. Highly recommended!

We have stayed at raintrees over the years and our kids were so happy going from beach to heated pool. Especially with the fun slide, they had a ball and called it there second home. So safe and private it's a secret haven right beside the best surf beach on the coast. We had some rain in february/march but the undercover car park made things easier. You don't need a car really, everything you need is in walking distance. New management are great and really friendly.

My family booked two apartments for family get together. Both ground floor close to both pools on the site. Enjoyed the relaxed ambiance and environs. Our two bedroom unit was nice but the toilets were both upstairs. - slightly inconvenient. Otherwise great

We arrived here from a really early flight, our kids were very tired, our apartment was ready so the lovely lady checked us in early. We stayed for 2 nights and even though it rained the whole time the kids still got to go in the pool with waterslide. This place is in a fantastic location, surrounded by rainforest you walk down the track and you are on the beach, park and shops and cafes. Just a short drive or walk on track to main part of Caloundra. Rooms were great, plenty of space, lots of utensils etc in kitchen and 2 courtyards to sit in. I would definitely stay here again great price and owners are very friendly.

We loved our stay at Raintrees, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the beach was a short walk away and although not patrolled, there was a tidy lagoon for kids to play in. The unit was lovely and clean but we too had the bathroom upstairs by the bedroom, when having a few drinks in the lounge, those stairs got a hammering. The downside is the bird life in the early hours of the morning. It is a rainforest but take ear plugs if you like, they saved us. The walking paths around the buildings were being upgraded but looked lovely, it made it a pleasant stroll through the trees. I would go back again.

All the rooms don't have aircon and we missed out it was sooo hot i couldnt sleep. The beds were like bricks and the beach out the back is not a patrolled beach and not really kid friendly so we had to travell to Kings beach for the kids safety .We also had a unit with internal stairs with the bathrooms upstairs not great for kids. The pool area was great but had to fight with people for the use of the tables at the bar-b-que ,rude people actually sat with us at lunch hoping we would move out.Even though we had a 3 room apartment only one car park and my mum had to park out on the street .I don't recommend it to anyone

The Raintrees advertises internet capability but it is slow dial-up. Our linens were clean but the actual pillows, mattresses, etc. were old and smelled funny. If you have allergies, I would not recommend. The location could not be better. The pool is nice and the staff are friendly. The property needs a big rennovation but if you go in realizing what you are in for, you will not be disappointed. Very family friendly.

We booked last minute for a weekend break. Unit 9, no air conditioner but cool with breezes even on a hot weekend. Quiet at night, well equipped accommodation, beds super comfortable. Free DVD hire a nice touch. We had a large underground parking space so our kayak fitted as well as the car. Hosts accommodating of late checkout (extra cost) which meant we could have a morning paddle on beautiful lake Currummundi nearby. A few nice places to eat just around the corner, or Foodworks for those self catering. All you need for a relaxing break, especially suitable for families.

Just back from 5 nights , we had a 2 bedroom townhouse which was really well appointed , nice private courtyards front and rear , everything is really clean and the grounds are well looked after. Our hosts Graeme and Sharon couldn't do enough to make our stay memorable , and a short stroll to the beach and shops. Loved it!
