Booked this place over the Christmas period with another family. The 6 of us had a 3 bedroom 2-storey apartment on (no. 27, if I remember well). Not cheap ($1200 for 4 nights, but that's holiday season for you).

All in all a great place to stay. All the mod cons: aircon, fans, flatscreen telly with Foxtel, aircon in the master bedroom and one of the other ones, and everything decked out nicely. The resort has its own "rainforest", which makes it feel nicely secluded. It was a quiet place in general. The beach is 1 minute walk away (if that), and there is Tooway Lake for the littlies. The resort itself has two pools, and close access to shops, restaurants, and everything else you need.

Downsides? Well, there is only 1 car space, which is not a lot for a 3 bedroom apartment, considering that parking on the street is super-limited. Also, the place wasn't really clean. Fair bits of dust were still lingering around and on top of stuff, as if the unit had only been speed-vacuumed before we arrived. The "starter-kit" (coffee, tea, sugar, etc) was missing as well. No super big deal (we didn't even bother mentioning it at reception), but something that struck me as odd for a place of this quality.

Would I recommend this resort? Yep. It's a great place in a great location, and if you are bothered by missing things or dusty tables/stairways, well, just mention it at reception and I bet they'll do something about it.

We felt sorry for ourselves when we left. That's always a good sign.

3 adults, 3 children in Unit 17 Raintrees resort first weekend August 2014. Lovely, helpful Managers. Quiet nights. Safe and practical ground floor unit. Smelled badly of cat urine on arrival, was rectified quickly with trip to local supermarket. A few minor issues with maintenance ie doors tricky to lock, loose handles on frypan, no handle on saucepan lid, minor things that were easily repaired before use. Pool heating not fantastic but kids enjoyed regardless. Location great.

I have stayed here numerous times since the 90s. The grounds are great and well kept. Location is good for a beach holiday. The units are a good size. However they are individually owned and vary enormously in the standard of fit out and up keep. Some are great, some average, some poor.

The one I last had had a lot of outstanding maintenance most of which could be easily fixed or cheaply replaced e.g. peeling paint on a bedroom ceiling, mould in very old prints, peeling veneer on a vanity, shower screens jammed, old crockery, curtains rails loose. This reluctance to repair and replace with new tired items really let down what could easily be a very pleasant unit.

We were not impressed with Raintrees. The accommodation was in much need of upgrade. Paint cracking, fans falling apart, dishwasher barely working, fridge door didn't shut properly, curtains falling off hinges, bed terribly lumpy, lights of poor quality. The waterslide was great for our little boy and he had a lovely time there. THe alarm was set for midnight on the first night and woke us all up and when I complained the manager shrugged and said that it intimated that it regularly happens (so check that they's off)! All in all I would not recommend.

Firstly, we have written three times of our concerns regarding our stay here - got a reply the first time stating they would look into it; nothing so sent a second email and then a third email - nothing. So this is why this review is being written.

We arrived late at night as our plane had been delayed 11 hours and we couldn't find No. 25 as there are no lights to light up the driveway or footpaths. There are lights but they weren't on. One of the apartment owners finally came out and helped us find our apartment.

It certainly wasn't a deluxe apartment and for NZ$1725 for the week we would have expected the following: a brush for washing dishes before putting in the dish washer; dishwashing powder; no papertowels but there was one teatowel; no bucket - how does one wash the floor? one toilet roll for the week; noise from the swimming pool at 11 pm - unacceptable; no guard on the stairway to upstairs - do not stay here if you have a toddler as it is so dangerous; two beds in the smaller bedroom were so low to the floor we assume they were homemade or camping beds - again certainly not deluxe; oven knobs broken and should be replaced and we could go on and on.

All in all it was a terrible holiday as this Unit 25 doesn't get any sun; dreadful sleep from the camp type beds; worry as a family about children falling through the stairway onto the tiled floor; constant noise till late at night from the swimming pool and then no response to our concerns.

This was meant to be a deluxe apartment and for the money we paid we would never go there again. We have given the managers three opportunities to follow up our emails. Poor service for a huge amount of money. Be aware do not rent No. 25.

There were six of us wishing to spend 2 nights at a place in Caloundra. My initial contact with the Manager of the Raintrees Resort made me feel confident that we had chosen wisely. Positive, friendly and helpful, she was most reassuring before and after our arrival. The three bedroom ground floor apartment was just perfect for our requirements. The huge kitchen and family room had two patios - one at either end of the apartment. The rooms were very clean and well set out. Having an ensuite bathroom in the main bedroom prevented congestion at busy times. Easy access to Moffat Beach and local restaurants was perfect. Two swimming pools are a bonus.

We stayed here for two nights in appartment number 2. We were visiting Australia Zoo so was only 15 minute drive from the accommodation. The grounds are lovely and a very short walk to the beach. The pool with slide was good but heated pool was not very warm. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Probably could do with a spring clean for those bigger things like carpets steam cleaned, curtains and skylight shafts cleaned as these were dirty but otherwise the main amenities were spotless. We also booked through booking . Com who had made an error in the price and the hotel did honour this discounted fee which was very nice of them. All in all we would stay here again as great for families.

We just stayed here for the weekend it's a lovely place to stay. The kids loved the pool with the slide. The beach is five minutes walk and the 3 bedroom apartment was roomy and comfortable to stay. The nice thing about staying here is that it's very peaceful and relaxing. Would love to have stayed longer.
