The Waterview Resort is the ideal place with the ideal location to stay. The management team are a dream and the units we have stayed in over the years have all been very comfortable and well maintained. If you are going to Caloundra do yourself a favour and try The Waterview because you won't regret it. One thing though .....recently noticed that The Waterview is listing a 2nd Floor unit for the same cost as a penthouse unit ?? Apparently the listed 2nd floor unit is fully renovated, however, for the same money, do yourself another favour, if you can stay in one of the penthouse units try it out and I am sure you won't regret that choice either. Not only do the penthouse units have spectacular views and very comfortable indeed , each has its own rooftop deck area to relax and unwind ( added bonus - 2 car parking spaces with the penthouse units)

We had a recent stay in Unit 6 on Level 3 and it was fantastic. Sure the unit is a little on the older side but it is clean and comfortable with an awesome view and in a great location. Bullcock Beach is the smart place to stay. You can leave the car in the garage and walk everywhere. A short walk around to Kings Beach or up the the main street or local IGA. The onsite manager is great. She even provided a video of two different rooms so we could choose which one we preferred. The only word of warning is that you need to be able to back a car to park in Unit 6 car park. I had no issues at all but some may find it challenging. The unit has the usual mod cons including A/C in lounge and master bedroom, Dishwasher, Microwave, Washing Machine and Dryer and is well appointed for cooking/dining etc.

Once again we chose to stay at this beautiful location and have to say that we were not disappointed. The Managers have settled in beautifully and must take credit for the changes they have and are making. The freshly painted entrance and hallways to the beautiful gardens topped off the endless views from our balcony. Thank you Jason and Ella.

*Apartment Owners Take Note* Have stayed here many times over the last decade but just recently with the new managers. They have ruined what used to be a great holiday place to relax. The man sits on his balcony overlooking the pool watching your every move & even speaking to children for splashing. To make matters worse, he smokes & upon walking up the main entrance stairs, all you can smell is cigarette smoke. His professionalism is questionable, parading around shirtless doing his jobs at the resort. He made us all feel uncomfortable. One of his jobs is not vacuuming under the beds because the dust was revolting. The woman, his partner, is rude to say the least & overcharged us. Get everything in writing from this woman. Unfortunately no improvements have been made to the bathrooms & kitchen & with the passage now just sand, Waterview is no longer that. Sadly we will never be back to what was once our favourite place to stay in Caloundra. We used to call Waterview our happy place, not anymore!

Barry Utz thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. We are sorry to hear you felt this way on your recent holiday. If you had let us know your concerns whilst you were staying here, we may have been able to resolve things with you. When guests make a reservation, they are sent a confirmation email confirming all the details of the booking and our terms and conditions. When you arrived you wanted to pay with cash, which we advised we no longer accept due to the laws around cash and trust accounts. You did not want to pay by credit card, so we offered the option of direct deposit. When you checked in you confirmed that you had 4 guests in total. A day later we texted asking if there were extra guests. You said yes so were advised you that there would be an extra charge and could you please come to reception to pay. Which you did. You were not overcharged for anything. Both this info about cash and guests can be found in our confirmation email. Guests and owners are permitted to smoke on their balconies at the Waterview and whilst you were staying, we had several smokers here with us. In relation to our staff, we can assure you that all of our staff members are fully clothed during their working hours. As onsite managers we do live at The Waterview and we do enjoy our balcony and sitting and watching our children swim in the pool, we also enjoy the beach and like our guests we do come home in our swimmers sometimes, we are very sorry if you found that uncomfortable. Our owners have been steadily making improvements to their units over the past year, with the view of doing more in the near future. The unit you stayed in had just been painted, new floors installed and all new furniture and appliances. As to the cleanliness of our units we take a lot of pride in that area and are sorry to hear that there was dust found under the beds. The sand moving in the passage is mother nature doing her work and have found that many families are loving the change, as they feel it is much safer to swim at Bulcock Beach and the lagoons and can set up their cabanas on the sand for the day. The views from our units are still stunning and there is not a lack of ocean views. We are sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your stay with us. We wish you the best of luck on your next holiday. We stayed on the top floor penthouse 3 bedroom apartment early Jan. 2022. Pro’s *Own private rooftop sunrise/sunset views *3 balcony’s on main floor *2 bathrooms *Fully equipped kitchen *Perfect location *A/C in every room Con’s *Fridge broke, had to resort to buying ice and using eskies *Beds hard as bricks *Pillows like bricks *Limited bedding *dryer filter and roller caked in lint, well overdue a clean. *Squeaky external louver over bedroom window keeps you up all night Overall Great spot and the room was really nice although it feels more like a privately rented apartment rather than a hotel. The bedding and linen needs to be updated for the high price you pay you would expect a little more luxury, no shower items including face washes. No dish detergent. Hopefully the they get some grease on those louvers.. seems petty but getting constantly woken up then trying to sleep again on the hard mattress and pillows .sigh.. would I stay again? Same condition. No. Luxury mattress and bedding, yes.

Great location, have stayed previously and really happy however my last stay I was not very impressed. I stayed in room 15 "Penthouse" kitchen was poorly equipped no toiletries supplied. Rooftop was unusable as only an old table and worn out old brittle plastic chairs no bbq was provided (Rooftop was the main reason for booking penthouse) I was happy with management until I reported theses issues then it was a differentstory they certainly couldn't have cared less

Wow!! What can we say. Fantastic accomodation in an awesome location. The view from our room was breathtaking. The couple managing this property are second to none. They were very accommodating, friendly and made us feel at home. We will stay their again and again.

We stayed here in October 2012 and were very disappointed. Place was very extremely dusty, had stained and dirty carpet, filthy bathroom (complete with pubes, brown stains and tooth paste from previous occupants), holes in the linen and a disgusting kitchen. Oh, and lets not forget the dirty sock we found in the bedside table. I'm not fussy and backpack a lot of the time. This place was poor even by modern hostel standards. When we complained the owner agreed with us but rather than talking to the cleaners, told us we were to fussy.
I'm sure the manager will respond and highlight that this is the first TripAdvisor complaint about them. So it must be us right? I've stayed in many places in Caloundra and never complained. Try one of the following hotels/apartments in Caloundra: Centre Point Apartments, Rumba Beach Resort or Shearwater Resort. They are in better locations, great views and are similarly priced. It's up to you.....but you were warned!

Thank you for your review aquat, we welcome criticism as well as compliments. We fully understand and acknowledge your concern over dust, which is what we specifically discussed when you called us to the room. We also offered our apologies. We stated at the time that we would clean it immediately (which we did) and we even went so far as to offer you a refund after you mentioned your dust allergy. I am surprised to learn you chose not to disclose the discovery of “pubes, brown stains and tooth paste from previous occupants” which, to me, is far worse than a bit of dust on the bed head. The “disgusting kitchen” was not mentioned either. Suffice to say we are more than happy to face up to our responsibility for lapses in cleaning or maintenance (which happens everywhere from time to time) but I cannot accept criticism for fabricated or exaggerated claims. I don’t understand why you would highlight a bit of dust but not the other issues. The stained carpet to which you refer is the discoloured patch of carpet where the old air conditioner used to sit. It measures roughly 90cm x 15 cm and is in the corner of the room. As the owner was effecting improvements to the unit at the time, the fact is that three new air conditioners had just been installed but the carpet had at that stage not been replaced. Again, we explained this to you upon arrival and you were okay with it. Why all of a sudden is it a reason to complain? The hole in the linen I am not entirely surprised about. We have since switched to a quality linen supplier, CLS, and our former supplier Cleantex unfortunately had ongoing quality control problems. We did our best to scrutinise every incoming item but it was an impossible task and sometimes a defective item slipped through. We would have gladly changed the faulty linen but we were not advised of this either. We did talk to the cleaners as we do every time when attention to detail occasionally slips. Simultaneously we also pass on compliments from guests who are very happy with the standard of cleaning. Like everywhere else only a small percentage of people take the time to record their experience on sites like Trip Advisor – we can’t force people to translate their verbal praise into a written review. The majority of our bookings are derived from return guests so I guess we’re not too bad considering your criticism. Additionally we receive comments from numerous new guests who have migrated from other buildings in Caloundra and I’m sure this is a two-way street; we are not going to be everyone’s “cup of tea” although we do our best. We would like to welcome you back at some stage to give us the opportunity to redeem ourselves; you may even like to book under a different name to do a “mystery shop” as it were. Once again our apologies for the dust on the bed head, I can assure you it was a rare exception to the rule. Finally, passing traffic becomes virtually non-existent at night, and all apartments from level two upwards experience the same breathtaking views of the shipping channel, Pumicestone Passage, Bribie Island, Happy Valley park and the beaches.

A fantastic location, right on the waterfront. A large spacious apartment (easily slept 5), with everything you could possibly need, and very friendly and professional managers. Caloundra is a lovely place with a small town and a beautiful waterfront outlook and super beaches. These apartment definitely were in the prime location.
