Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great location. However the room was appalling. Cracks in floor, taped up bath, cracks in bathroom. Sliding door broken, no artwork. Tv didn’t work properly. Clearly in the middle of renovations but still charging full price, paid $950 for 3 nights in a 2 star apartment. Very disappointed.

Arrived to the host treating visiting tourists terribly before receiving ourselves appalling treatment. Rude and obnoxious. Walked away. Location is good but service is the worst we’ve experienced worldwide.

Response from John Trew, Owner at Outrigger Burleigh
Responded 3 May 2023
Good morning RonvZ9839IJ, thank you for taking the time to review. I find this very concerning given our proud reputation for outstanding customer service. Can you please me call at The Outrigger directly to discuss, as I cannot find any record of you arriving at The Outrigger. Kind regards, Dean Wright Outrigger Burleigh

Good location, best thing is 24 hour check-in!! Instead of other places where you book in $160/nightly X 2 & $200 deposit $150/1 night stay without that!! There's the positive. Negative? Bed uncomfortable which being a big issue for me with a bad back. Harder to get a good night's sleep a very important factor of staying in an accommodation outlet. The bathroom with a shower & bath without safety rails was another issue -but for a short stay as it was when the vacancy came about it was alright for 1 night?

Spacious room; clean; liked the balcony; fantastic shower water pressure; easy complimentary parking. Right on busy road (conveniences close by) but surprisingly quiet in the room. Only one block to the beach. Expensive for one night; all handles on bathroom cabinetry were badly rusted and in need of replacement (detracted from an otherwise pristine room).

Room was really unclean, splatter marks on inside of bathroom door, had to wipe down light switch in bathroom as it was grimey - painting had fallen off wall and been stashed in wardrobe, leaving double sided tape on wall….. Couldn’t lock room door from inside, and no do not disturb sign. Had to play music so whilst showering so housekeeping didn’t come in - even then the nearly kicked down the door knocking so hard, so had to jump out of the shower just to tell them I didn’t need a towel. Staff ignored you as you walked past reception, kept getting texts to say I needed to pay, then to disregard All in all I don’t mind cheap accommodation - if clean and basic, this was neither!

My sister booked this place for 3 nights had to leave after one . The furnishings were horrible & the bathroom was worse , was a very neglected eighties place . The the pool was awful & dirty & the beds were so old & hurt our backs had to go and get a massage , they msged to say our room was ready and it wasn’t , there was a stuck to put in the sliding door so nobody could break in . OUTRIGGER BURLEIGH YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF . YOU CHARGE WAY YO MUCH FOR SUCH A AWFUL PLACE COULD NOT RELAX & FOUND A MUCH NICER PLACE YO STAY. FOR LESS $

Stayed for a weekend on level 2 facing the Gold Coast Highway, could hear the noise but not unbearable (take some ear plugs if you are not sure). Great to walk everywhere, North Burleigh Surf Club, Miami pub, Coles, Aldi, Dan Murphys etc. Room was a little tired, but the bathroom looked newly renovated. Fridge had plenty of room and appreciated that there was a microwave in the room. Bed not too comfortable

Not friendly or welcoming at all. Would not recommend or go back to this establishment!! I'm assuming he was the owner but he was horrible to us as soon as we walked in the door and the rooms were no better.
