Detailed Reviews
We absolutely loved everything about Mariner Shores, including: the location, the unit, the nearby delicious dining options and the great facilities.
The pools are awesome, the toddler room was an absolute life saver (particularly on a rainy day), free hire of sand castle buckets/spades, surf/boogie boards, putt putt golf, bocce and tennis court make this place an absolute stand out!!!
You know it’s a great holiday when you feel so sad to leave.
I would like to say the biggest thank you to the Mariner Shores staff who went the extra mile to make our stay so memorable and were the friendliest and most accommodating people.

From check-in to check-out everything went smoothly. We had a large two-bedroom unit with plenty of room for six people. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook meals when not at the Surf Clubs, the fabulous Pavillion and other eateries. Fabulous pastries at the Custard Canteen not too far away. The indoor pool was heated and the children loved it after a dip in the cool surf. Lots of things to do in the resort and in the surrounding areas. We spent many hours strolling from the north to the south of the long, clean beach, stopping at the three patrolled areas for the children to play and swim. A fantastic holiday all round.

Response from Tony Houlahan, General Manager at Mariner Shores Resort & Beach Club
Responded 19 July 2023
Thank you for taking the time to post about your experience staying with us and enjoying all that the area has to offer. We love the local area just as much as you do, and there is always so much for families to enjoy both here at the resort and nearby. The indoor heated pool is always a hit with the children, and the games room is also a favourite of theirs. We hope that you will come and see us again when next you are visiting the beautiful North Burleigh area!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Mariner Shores. Nice location and handy to facilities including the beach, surf club with complimentary membership, Dan Murphy's, Coles and Aldi supermarkets and a selection of fast food places. Relaxing beach walks, "Bleach" festival activities at Burleigh Heads. The 2 bedroom ground floor unit (no 11) was huge with a covered wooden deck overlooking the putt putt course. The best equipped unit I have been in with quality kitchen appliances.

This is the worst timeshare property we have ever stayed at with RCI. We have been members for many years.
My teenager attempted to get on the Wifi once we were in our room. There was no signal. We contacted reception immediately and as we were there early asked if we could check in to another room with working Wifi. They said every room on the property would have the same problem. The only new thing in the property was a Smart TV but of course this couldn't be used properly due to no Wifi!
We set about making up the fold out bed early, (luckily). There was no linen in the room for it. Linen was then sent up which was for a single bed not a double bed and only a small child's pillow was offered. After many trips back and forth we got some linen which would do but certainly not sheets, blankets and pillows which you would normally find on a hotel bed. Only 2 hours in and things were not good.
In the bedroom there was lots of mould above the window, a large water bulge in the roof and the wardrobe had water stains and dampness. On the Queen bed there was an old discoloured foam top. My grandmother used these in the 90s, I think this one had been there since then. The looped mattress cover was the wrong size for the bed and the sheets had oil and makeup stains on them.
During the last 3 days the lift was malfunctioning, we were on the 8th floor. Guests were told to walk up the stairs but the door at the top of each floor was locked and there was no access to the rooms from the stairs. It was quite a Fawlty Towers moment.
Mariner Shores takes your money but no care or responsibility.
The rooms need a serious upgrade and simple things like clean and correct sized linen for beds should be remedied immediately.
It is completely unacceptable to have no wifi available in 2022 and even if it had been working they charge you for a very small package.
I would suggest choosing another resort.

Despite staying for 8 nights, we were unable to have the unit cleaned. Reception stated that cleaning was only offered if staying for 2 weeks ( really? ) and when I asked for fresh towels and linen, that was a " no " as well... it is very humid here , towels are musty after a few days!

I was on a short break with my 9 year old. The lady on reception made me feel as if I was in prison. You have to hand your room key in for access to any other key for the pool or gym. I was then I couldn’t use the gym because my 9 year old would not be able to sit on the floor and watch. With thunder and lightning outside there was no option to exercise outside. Just rude in general.

Maureen the manager was excellent ,friendly and gave us some great tips where to eat out.One was the Burleigh Bowls club??? .Of all places....
but had very tasty, interesting mixed Australian/Asian menu, the meals were just excellent.run by two Asian guys of course.
The resort had a really good family holiday balance with the outer and internal pools and spa's.Mini golf, full tennis court, a little cinema room,BBQ and pleasant outdoor area overlooking the ocean through a few trees.
It's central half way along the coast between Surfers and Coolangatta.
The amenties were close by with a Wollies and eateries/takeaways accross the road,
Miami Hotel,Dan Murphies,Aldi and the North Burleigh Surf Life Saving Club all under 5 minutes walk away from your unit.
Marineer Shores is directly accross the road from the beach and walking into Burleigh village along the beach or through the park is a must.
We will have to stay here again, we really enjoyed our time here

I think Receptions dont have respect for RCI members. One of them told me that we RCI mebers pay only around $1000 dollars when compared to few who pay around$2000-$2500 to get the same facilities when i asked the reason for not Unlimited INTERNET access.
Reaort location & view was very good . Facilities were good aswell .SPA is very cold .
When we asked to increase the temperature, they started lecturing about safety , rules.

Other than the WiFi being a little dodgy at times, this resort is 9.8 out of 10 for sure.
Staff are wonderful, from reception, to cleaners to maintenance & gardeners.
Resort is well equipped, and ideally located opposite the beach, with supermarkets and other shops just a short 100m or so walk.

Manawatu-Wanganui Region, New Zealand16 contributions3 helpful votesHi, I am arriving at the Gold Coast Airport early afternoon and wonder is there a shuttle to Marina Shores? if not What is my best mode of transport.
Hi, there is a bus service that will take you from the airport straight by the back door of the resort.
There are two routes, either the 700 service or the 777 service.
If you take a look at the Translink web site you can plan the time of your arrival and the most relevant bus to catch.
Hope that helps!
I am a guest at mariner shores so I cannot confirm your bookings . Please contact the reception

The undercover car park requires 1.95m clearance. If your vehicle is too tall to fit undercover we also have some on-site car parks available for you.
Thanks!
